You're not alone, babe. There is hope - don't turn away from the good things that bloom around you. Just as your inner pain hurts you, your words hurt those of us who care about you. Many hugs.

You shiver from a finger Traveling up your spine. It's my palm smacking skin That brings you back in line. Your command is to be still, Do not move an inch. But you soon forget your place And start to groan and flinch. Smacking skin increases, This time with more force. Even though you want to, You cannot voice remorse. Silence with no movement Is the order of the day. Until I'm fully satiat

Sorry, I missed this comment, buddy. Thanks for the support on this chapter and the story itself, from the beginning. These are harsh, emotional times in this chapter. Very turbulent. But, like you said, Ben needs to be strong for Travis right now, because although Ben is dealing with some of his own shit, Travis is the one enduring the most pain. Trust is really key here, as you mentioned. There is love forming, even though obstacles seem to kick at them left and right. Thanks again. Cheers - Mac

Um... thanks? I'm glad it moved you and all... but sorry if it upset you. Yes, Eric is slime. Finishing him off might not have been a good move for Travis - considering he was well on his way to killing him. Ben was trying to protect Travis by pulling him off. Still, Travis has to find a way to get past all this mess. Thanks for offering your feedback, tim. I appreciate it. Cheers, my friend -Mac

Sorry Val, I wasn't personally dissing Ariats. They're a fine boot. But I do love my Justins. I'm still rooting for an HEA, too. Lol. I make no promises to the future. Eric doesn't deserve sympathy, so don't feel bad for not having any for him. He got what he deserved. Whether or not he appears again, I cannot say. Thanks, as always, for your continued support and feedback on this story. It means a lot. Cheers - Mac

I know people are rooting for HEA. Don't give up quite yet, Jeff. I won't make any promises about less kicks to the head, but keeping you engaged is a good thing... right? Thanks for the comments. Cheers - Mac

I like the way you think, Tim. There's no mercy for Eric.

As I mentioned to Graeme, you all picked out that one sentence. Like a beacon, it stood out to you. Eric is evil; he got his ass kicked hard for a reason. Thanks for the comments, droughtquake. Cheers - M

You readers are so astute. I throw in a four-word sentence, and you all pick up on it... Thank you for your comments, Graeme. As always, I value your input. Still much to reveal as we move along. Thanks for following along, even though I'm not posting as often as I would like. Cheers - Mac

Thanks, BA. Vicky was one of the only stable people in this chapter, lol. She did have some wisdom to share - it's up to Ben if he wants to take note of it or not. Haha, you know a Darlene, too? I appreciate the kind words here, my friend. Cheers - Mac

Careening Towards the Edge
MacGreg commented on MacGreg's story chapter in Careening Towards the Edge
Hi Lisa. You're right, Curtis is sludge. And Ben made a mistake trying to pay him off. He didn't (doesn't) know who he's dealing with, or what the underlying currents are. He's just viewing it like money can fix the world. Lessons to be learned here. Thanks for always reading and commenting! Cheers - Mac -
Careening Towards the Edge

Thank you, BA. There are countless obstacles, but what in life is easy, right? Sometimes, you have to fight for what you want. Ben's becoming more and more ready for that. Cheers, my friend - Mac -
Careening Towards the Edge

Thank you, tim. As always, you have great insight. You're spot-on about Curtis, and the monogamy idea is more fantasy than plausible, but if Ben believes in it enough, maybe it can work out. For a little while. Thanks for the comments. - Mac -
Careening Towards the Edge
MacGreg commented on MacGreg's story chapter in Careening Towards the Edge
Yeah, Ben thinks money fixes things. Just like he gave money to Katy in the stables so she'd keep quiet. In his world, it's easy to throw cash around and get what you want. He has to learn that money doesn't guarantee positive outcomes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it, Tim. -
Careening Towards the Edge
MacGreg commented on MacGreg's story chapter in Careening Towards the Edge
Curtis doesn't want the ranch, but it's a means to the things he does want. Power and control. Ben is throwing a heavy wrench into it, which does not bode well with the man. Curtis assumes Travis will fall back into line once Ben is gone. We shall see... Thanks, droughtquake. Cheers - M -
Careening Towards the Edge
MacGreg commented on MacGreg's story chapter in Careening Towards the Edge
Well, Curtis is in the shithole with everyone now, apparently. He's not a very lovable guy, that's for sure. Without his influence and involvement, Travis' life would have taken a different turn. Where things go from here is important. I will do my best to see it through. And I agree with you about the monogamy (I know readers will throw rotten apples at me for saying that, but that's the reality.) Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Def. Always appreciated. Why would I make it easy...? Thanks for your comments, Jeff. I may not delve deep into everyone's history, but there will be some revelations forthcoming still. Cheers - Mac -
Careening Towards the Edge

Hey Val, thanks for your feedback on this chapter. The positive and negative seem go hand-in-hand with these two, don't they? Ben does have his work cut out for him, but he's discovering along the way that he's stronger than he thought he was. More things will test that strength, for the both of them. Love ain't easy though, is it? I shall continue to keep you guessing. Cheers - Mac -
Hey Geron, thanks for your continued appreciation of this story. It's fine that you read it when you can - the point is that you keep coming back and offering these insightful comments, which are so great. There is a lot of development between characters still to come, as well as more revealing facts about Katy's and Travis' strained relationship. Ben is slowly coming out of his shell. Thanks again for the comments. Cheers - Mac

Ben studied his reflection in the full-length, three-sided mirror. The jacket he'd slung over himself was a vintage 1950s western-style black gabardine piece with ivory filigree embroidery braiding, arrow details around the pockets, and pearl, diamond-shaped snap buttons lining up the front. The style shouted retro-rockabilly with a hint of Johnny Cash thrown in. Paired with blue jeans and the right shirt underneath, Ben knew he'd found the prefect piece to wear in Chicago. "Here." Art Imitates Life... Life Imitates Art
MacGreg commented on MacGreg's blog entry in Musings by MacGreg
I agree with everyone. Thank you @Ron and @Mikiesboy for sharing your thoughts on it. Because I was at the exhibition and had the opportunity to read about Ryan's work, his photography, and the subjects in his photos, I can assume that this was not a trick played on the hooded boy but rather a capturing of a moment. Ryan always had a camera on hand to capture everything and everyone in his circle of friends, and they were well aware and supporting of his photography. When he had his first solo show at The Whitney in New York in 2003, all of those people showed up for the opening. But... I can absolutely see your points of view. Without knowing any background, the photo is open for interpretation. Even with knowing the background, it's open for interpretation. Cheers.- 19 comments
