Definitely unpleasant memories here. But we can't judge a character by their name. Hopefully Brienne will be able to help with the air freshener issue. Fingers crossed that her help isn't mint flavoured

DEVYN It was the best thing he had ever smelled, and Devyn slumped in his desk, a glass bottle in his hands as Jason dropped into the seat beside him. The neko was rank with the smell of exercise, and as much as the wolf wanted to just breathe in the scent, he forced himself to set the bottle on Jason’s desk. “Dr. Marin said you should put this on,” he muttered. The neko sniffed at the bottle, frowning slightly before spraying the contents over his body. Near instantly his

Dude, Eike is totally that evil, as evidenced by the alcohol abuse present in the last chapter. Oh, and feeding the bunny to his underling... I guess that was pretty evil too...

Toilday 18 Desnus 4710 We broke into the fort through a loose board in the wall. Akiros was waiting for us, making me wonder. Am I growing predictable? He succumbed to us as Kressle had, through talk. Jhod had mentioned a certain hiccough in the man whenever the priest mentioned Erastil. It didn’t take a genius to realize why, and I gently asked Akiros why a follower of a kind god was following a bandit lord. While I can’t say I turned him back to his faith, I can say that I gar

I have to admit, my first thought was gods I hope the fob has batteries... But all things work out, and wolves make their claims. It's fun to see Shea wrestling with his new position and all the attendant mental struggles that come with it.

20/20 hindsight is not always the most useful in the moment.

Warmth surrounded the fox, Reinard’s eyes opening tiredly. His body ached, muscles throbbing with a dull burn as he lay in bed. He was in his bond form, sprawled out in a pile of sheets, body on full display. Standing with a quick gasp, the Faro nearly collapsed again, his legs wobbling as his groin protested loudly. Letting his body shift back into his bipedal form, the fox slipped off the bed, landing on all fours with a pained grunt. Galen had done it. He had finally fucked him. And the

Starday 15 Desnus 4710 Davik Nettle. The name of the spectre who sent those dreams. I say spectre, he really is more of a wight. Undead, malicious intent giving him sentience, but the malice is aimed toward one man. The Stag Lord. We made it to Nettle’s Crossing on the Shrike River in one day, only to find it burned down, the ferry destroyed. Upon inspection, we were approached by the wight, who pleaded for our aid. Nothing less than the death of the Stag Lord will let him rest

Amnor Sen stared at the small chest, two thousand gold neatly packed inside. The caravan had been decimated, six guards limping into Fort Longjaw with the caravan. It was a relief to be behind the fort walls, even if they were only wooden walls. The caravan was disbanded, Niss forced to pay out the six thousand to the surviving guards. Amnor Sen and Jeremy had more than enough gold to make it to Absolom, as soon as they returned to Quantium. The two had no intention of setting out any time soon

I'm afraid I'm not much help there. Jason is not a foster kid, he was fully adopted by the Farins. By law, they are his family, though as DrPaladin pointed out, it is just a piece of paper saying they're related.

Like me for example... I jest, I'm not nearly as intelligent as I like to imagine.
-
As often pointed out in D&D, Wisdom and Intelligence are two very different stats. One for books, one for street smarts. I'm not certain where remembering to buy food would fall in that, but I'm guessing wisdom.

Sunday 9 Desnus 4710 We were assaulted by bandits as we readied for bed. They’re getting either bolder or more desperate, and I’m not sure which. One of them had a Diadem of Vast Intelligence. I gifted it to Theofrid, to aid in his casting. As much as I keep insisting he’s part of the team, he still hasn’t seemed to accept it. Perhaps he needs more responsibility, to show that we really do trust him. I told him he is now in charge of our funds. If we need something, we will go t

Or if they use protection. As long as the seed doesn't enter Jason, they would be safe.

Dr. Marin does share some of the blame for putting the idea in his head though.

JASON The neko woke up cold and alone, fresh from a dream about a god granting him a den below the earth, a feeling of enclosed safety washing over him. Jason heard the sounds of whispered prayer, an eye opening to find Dylan kneeling in a group of four lit votives of different colours. “Lynestra of the Sun, elven goddess of the West, grant me your light that I might shine bright upon those around me today. Teach me to see the positive in life, and to help those around me throug

Oathday 6 Desnus 4710 Theofrid introduced me to an interesting theory on jewelled rice tonight. He helped me cook the recipe, mentioning that it had been one of Jaethal’s favourite meals for its tendency to leave the eater feeling lighter. Supposedly it was how Tartuccio was able to travel so much faster than us. Already the gnome is proving invaluable. I will need to make sure we stock up on ingredients when I get a chance. We walked near straight west, in search of the Thorn R

Toilday 4 Desnus 4710 And with that, our fight with Tartuccio is over. I write this entry safe and sound in Oleg’s Trading Post. We arrived late, but tomorrow, we celebrate, and the day after that, we journey south to the Stag Lord’s fort. Though I am thinking about taking Jhod to the Temple of the Elk, just so he can see it. He’s already asked my blessing to restore it once the Stag Lord has been defeated, and I believe I will allow him to do so. It will be nice to have the Stag God

The disease is no joke. How long was Jordan able to hold out when he met Lysander? Or Paelias when he met his mates? Having a virus in you that lives solely to make you reproduce copies of it in someone else is rough.

DEVYN A knock on the door startled Devyn, the wolf tearing his eyes away from his brother’s back. It didn’t even look bruised, but he knew it was causing the neko a lot of pain. Opening the door, Devyn looked at the neko on the other side, Damian holding out a bag of clothes. “Hey, your father brought these by,” he said. “Oh, and I know you just showered, but Lysander mentioned Jason might feel better in the pool down at the gym. He’ll need someone watching him of course, b

Day 2 Under the Old Sycamore We had to backtrack almost completely to the kobold entrance. As it turned out, we went down the wrong passage, and hours of fighting spiders and centipedes had never needed to happen. Stay to the right. That became our mantra in the tunnels. Is there a split? Stay to the right. Did we get turned around in that fight? Stay to the right anyway. I can sincerely say I hope to never see these tunnels again. And the fact that we hadn’t thought to bring torches

There has only ever been one werewolf who could do what in other settings would be an alpha or hybrid shift, and that is Itumak from The Alliance. And that in and of itself is only because he mated with an alien who sort of healed the disease partway, to the point where Itunak is only able to shift partway.

The amurrun stood in a circle, a ritual book open before him, showing the words of a modified protection spell. Mythara had set up one of their rooms with a ritual chamber, strange blue candles and chalk lining much of the floor in the shape of a kite shield. “Arithmancy is one of the more arduous studies of magic,” the dragon said, standing outside the door. “It is exacting, but when done properly, it allows for a magnified flow of energy. What I have done is broken the spell down into a m

Sunday 2 Desnus 4710 We followed Tartuccio to an old sycamore before we had to rest. My dreams were troubled by a burning house and a cold river. A voice whispered, “Shrike River”. It would seem something wishes us to travel there. Try as I might, I could not get back to sleep, so I stood watch over our little camp through the night. Today will be hell, but we cannot afford to waste time one one person’s exhaustion. Perhaps Tristian would have something to help me shake off my f

That is one series I will have to look into. My reading list is stretching out again and I love it.
