Zachary stared at the napkin, the numbers dancing before his eyes. He was stuck at home, just waiting for something to happen. And it didn’t sit well with him. He didn’t want to read. Every time he turned on the telly he ended up turning it off again. The flat was too quiet, but if he made any noise, suddenly it seemed too loud. It wasn’t his first experience with depression, and it certainly wouldn’t be his last. The million pound question was whether or not he wanted to make this call.

Wagon wheels creaked in the night, the tiefling in the back of the cart scanning through the tall grass that waved on either side of the road. The rain that had been plaguing them all day and night was finally starting to let up, but it was too late, as far as the tiefling was concerned. Seven hours out of Kalen, Hope was cold, wet, and miserable. The moon was hidden behind thick clouds, and even Hope’s low-light vision had difficulty seeing more than a dozen metres away. The occasional flas

The drive through the mountains was made in painful silence, Jordan thinking of the time he had spent as Blanche’s employee. She had been one of the nicest people he knew. Was she dead because he had come out as a wolf? The very thought was unbearable. He didn’t want to turn on the radio to drown out his thoughts though. It felt disrespectful to the dead. No, suffering in silence seemed the right way to handle this. As soon as that thought came into his head, Lysander’s phone began ringi

He heard the footsteps echoing through the empty ship. Lian was kneeling in the cabin, scrubbing the remnants of the night before off the wall. His ass was sore, a sweet, throbbing pain that reminded him of his soul’s love. The bite marks on his neck and collarbone were displayed prominently, as was his necklace. He was Itumak’s Daknar, and he was proud of it. Itumak shuffled backward into the cabin, a large bed in his hands. A cream coloured Egaro carried the other end of the bed, the two

Lian dropped the bucket of dirty water into the recycler, listening to the buzz of the machine as it broke down the components of the water. He and Itumak had been working all day, not even taking a break for lunch. Lian had learned long ago that when Itumak set his mind to something, nothing was going to get in his way. It was a quality he admired in the neko, one of the things that connected them beyond the sharing of their souls. He remembered the days Itumak had spent as a cadet, cleanin

In this sequel to The Alliance, Itumak is happy with his life. He has a mate he loves and a new ship of his own to work on. But his mate is not as happy. Two years ago, Lian lost part of his soul. And while he has found another part in return, his heart still yearns for his lost love. Though he remains quiet to avoid hurting the neko who has given him his heart, the dragon can't hide his feelings forever.

Lian sat next to Itumak, watching the planet fall away from the shuttle. He was grateful to be leaving the world behind, and he knew Itumak felt the same way. The Egaro may love Gaia, with its towering mountains, but Itumak had constantly complained about having to fly around the snowy peaks. His red fingers closed around the necklace against his chest. Two years with the neko, two years of love and trust. And still he had a hard time being with Itumak in public. For so long, Lian had been

Morning found them waiting outside the village of Kalen, waiting for the gates to open. Horton had led them through the night, trusting his guards’ vision to keep them safe on the road. Elluin had cast a spell on the trader just before they left Garysel, and though Hope and the elf were dead on their feet, Horton seemed more lively than ever. Grey clouds hung in the sky, wind chilling the air even further. Hope wished he had brought his cloak from Four Pines, but he had been rather preoccupi

It wasn't so much a poisoning as much as an involuntary trapping.

He was calm, serene even, floating in a pool of crystal clear water, Roku by his side. It seemed so right, though Adan experienced a moment of disconnect with his reality. Roku hated the water, didn’t he? No, that was right, he had taught his familiar, his love, to embrace the water. “This can all be yours,” a woman’s voice whispered. It was familiar, a strange feeling passing over Adan like he had been here, done this before. “This is life as it should be for a prince, easy, pea

You have raised several very good points. Adan is still feeling overwhelmed. Perhaps if things eventually settle down, he will be able to examine his feelings in peace and come to the conclusion that it really does not matter what people think. As long as the people in question don't show up to the palace with torches and pitchforks

Thank you I hope the rest of the story does not disappoint you.

Lady Corin cleared her throat quietly, standing next to the table where Adan was searching through a large tome. “You asked for me?” she asked, as Roku moved to sit beside Adan. “Yes. I wanted to let you know Roku and I will be searching for your spell in our free time. I also have an issue I would like to discuss with Lord Arien. Can you tell me how to get ahold of him?” Adan asked, glancing up from his work. “Of course. Just write a letter, seal it, and send a messenger,” the woman

He awoke to the sound of a sword being pulled from its scabbard. Flinching, Hope realised he had been resting his head on Elluin’s lap. When the fuck had that happened? And why did the elf allow it? He thought Elluin hated him. And why was the elf staring at the sword hanging over the tiefling’s head? “Good morning,” Elluin said, his eyes travelling along the blade. “Is it? Because it looks like you want to kill me,” Hope replied, sliding off the elf. “No. I’m studying.” “Ah,

DEVYN The wolf’s nails clicked on the wooden floor, Jason's hand resting on his back. Devyn could smell his brother's nerves, like an acid that filled his body, bubbling and making the neko tremble. Devyn's fur seemed to help Jason, and the wolf was happy to have the neko touching his coat. He couldn't figure out why he felt so happy around his brother. Normally it took a while for Devyn to warm up to people. But he almost felt like Jason was meant to be his brother; like they completed eac

As soon as the trader set eyes on Hope, Elluin knew he was in for a fight. "Remember the deal. We guard your wagon, and you get an extra gold for it," he said sharply. "There is no risk in it for you, only profit." "The risk comes from being stabbed in the back by a demon," the trader hissed. "Oh come on. I don't even have a dagger," Hope scoffed. "Then how do you plan on guarding my wagon?" "With my fearsome looks." Elluin couldn't help the snort that escaped him. Hope w

Torchlight flickered over the walls of the Zyrel manor, welcoming its new master home. Adan guided the wagon up the drive to the manor, a small frown on his face. “Lord Arien sent a bird ahead,” Lady Corin explained. “The lady chamberlain in waiting has been getting the estate in order for your arrival.” As she spoke, Adan saw several people taking up position in front of the manor, bowing as the wagon neared. Marel stood before them, holding a bow as her prince brought the wagon to a ha

I usually don't read shorter pieces, but I enjoyed your other work and decided to give this one a chance. I am so glad I did. This story tugged at my heart, leaving me wanting the main characters to figure out their truths. I very well done story, and one I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting something short and almost bittersweet in its telling.

Dim light filled the air, the sun just below the horizon. Roku's hands shook him again, the mage groaning as he woke up. His head ached, his body sore from the night before. The mage felt miserable, yet he put his feelings aside for the moment. Nearby, Adan heard the wheels of a wagon creak by, a friendly voice calling to them. Lady Corin responded in kind, already packing for the day's journey. Adan sat up with a yawn, Roku smiling hesitantly at him. "Lady Corin said I should wake you."

DEVYN He woke up with a strange scent in his nose, a light musky smell, and a warm weight holding his body. It was a strange smell, but that didn't mean it was bad. In fact, Devyn liked the smell. He wouldn't mind being covered in it. It was... Jason? He was in bed with Jason... Oh... He had heard the neko moving around in bed the previous night after everyone went home. The wolf figured it was hard to sleep when your den didn't smell like you. He'd had trouble with that before. But it

Jordan yawned as he carried a bag out to his new car. Tossing it in the trunk, the wolf made his way to Damian, who was busy installing Dylan's car seat. The neko cursed as he pinched his hand in a buckle. "Who designed these things?" he fumed, shaking his hand. "Here." Jordan leaned into the backseat, his hip brushing over Damian's groin as he reached for the buckle. He could feel Damian's dick hardening against him as he fumbled with the buckle. With a satisfying click, he

Who's a good boy? *wolf ears perk up*
-
Yeah, it's a person with cat ears and a tail. I have a picture of one of my neko characters on my profile, I think.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy the journey
