    Chapter Nine

I really like the classic story of the Snow Queen since it doesn't portray her as the stereotypical evil queen like in Snow White and other fairy tales. Also, Cecil is definitely the Kai of this story, and one has to wonder who will be his Gerda haha. Thanks for the comment, and I hope you like the twist I added to the Snow Queen when she finally appears.

    Chapter One

These are great questions you're asking! I don't want to spoil anything major, but to answer your second question, Sweetheart is a very conservative town in West Virginia, a state located in the Bible Belt. Benjamin probably proposed to Claudia because of the town's environment that pressures people to marry young due to religious beliefs for example. We'll see exactly why Benjamin ended his engagement with Claudia later in the story, and hopefully your other questions will be answered as well. Also, thanks for the comment!
  3. I stopped the rental car halfway through the paved driveway, and after some doubts, I parked the car and turned off the ignition. The lights of the car died out, and I looked at the mansion where I was raised in for most of my young life. This place, my former home, felt like it was trying to welcome me back in with the outdoor lights glowing on either side of the driveway, leading to the front porch of the mansion where the door with glass panels was. It was slightly open like it was an invitat
  4. Benjamin Bratt was returning to his hometown for a vacation after living in the city since he graduated high school. His family happily greeted him back, but not everyone was pleased with his return after what happened to Claudia Monroe, his ex-fiancée, during prom night five years ago. One of them was Cassius "Cash" Monroe, the delinquent, older brother of Claudia turned police officer. However, both men will have to work together as they uncover deep, dark secrets and try to stop an ancient evil from destroying their town and possibly the rest of the East Coast. Welcome to Sweetheart, West Virginia.

    Chapter Seven

Zev is quite likable, isn't he? I mean, he transformed from being a member of a dangerous pack who broke the law to becoming a police officer who upholds it. He also saved Lucky's butt at least three times. And he obviously cares about his family, including Velvet who is definitely going to get a long talking to by her big brother when he arrives haha.

    Chapter Six

Thank you very much! Snow White of the classic fairy tale, otherwise known as Lilith, is a vampire who needs to remain fairest of all the land by drinking the blood of her victims, and unfortunately one of them was Lucky's eldest brother. And hopefully there will be more kisses to come from Prince Charming and the Big Bad Wolf.

    Chapter Four

Thanks for the comment! There is definitely more to know about Zev other than being the scruffy and serious police officer, and any questions about him will be answered further into the story.

    Chapter One

I'm very happy that you like it so far! Hopefully the rest of the story entertains you as well 😄

    Chapter Two

Yes, Max definitely needs to prioritize the mission first by not letting his emotions get in the way. However, at least he's not devoid of emotions whose only objective is accomplishing the mission since innocent people can get hurt in the process. Let's hope Max knows what to do in that type of situation if it arises.

    Chapter Two

Very true that Grant is the antithesis of Prince Charming, but it could be assumed that he charmed his way into becoming an agent. Regardless, his character at least shows how good Max is who holds back from doing anything he'll regret, while also being treated like a servant by the rest of the agency, very much like Cindi when she used to live with her evil stepmother when you think about it.
  11. Walking across the busy street wasn’t an easy task, especially since it was lunch time, and everyone was rushing in their cars to get food at the closest restaurant and return before their thirty-minute break was over. It wasn’t smart either since two cars had to slam their brake pedal, so they wouldn’t hit me as I jaywalked. It earned me a few honks of their horns and a few choice words, but I was in a rush as well as I carried four holders in both hands, each carrying four hot beverages of var
  12. Thanks for the comment! Prison is a great word to use since she is isolated from the rest of the world that is punishing her of any semblance of emotions. And since she's so cold, it makes sense that she would quickly kill Zev in front of Lucky to break the curse, which is very ironic since only a person devoid of emotions would do such a soulless act? And I'm happy that you like my take on these very popular fairy tales, and I hope you like the next chapter that will most likely be the final one to the first part of this story.
  13. We'll see if the Snow Queen can return back to her senses before that happens since there is no other reason why Violet would be calling.

    Chapter Eight

Well, considering the police are sometimes labeled as pigs, it's very ironic that Zev is one of them now haha. Also, Wendy will definitely be another ally to the mission, most likely helping garner support from the police force if anything goes wrong. And Zev and Lucky need to solve the sexual tension between them if they're going to have a clear mind for the mission haha.
  15. A very probable solution for Lucky's father haha! Also, ogres have their own origin story like wolves and vampires that was yet to be revealed, and that particular ogre definitely has some history with Lucky that the prince doesn't know about...yet. At least they are not the human-eating creatures like in the fairy tales. They are just trying to live their lives without conflict as a race of people more persecuted than even wolves, and their existence probably explains bigfoot sightings in this world before magic was revealed just as a side note.

    Chapter Twelve

Yeah, Lucky probably wouldn't have guessed this was how he would meet his Prince Charming among other things. Also, Violet voluntarily cutting the rest of her hair and eating eggs really shows how she's transitioning into independence in such a short time since her hair was more likely a chain and the Rapunzel salad, prison food. And maybe Zev's imprint was destiny all along.

    Chapter Eleven

Yes, Lucky is, dare I say, very lucky to end up with a man like Zev even though he's somewhat rough around the edges. He's still a very good person, dedicated to the law, his family and all those romance books in his bedroom haha. And one has to wonder if there's something brewing between Violet and Cecil as well.
  18. Yes, her reasoning was to gain some type of emotion again, but by doing so, it really shows how cold she really has become since she is literally trying to kill Zev right in front of Lucky and, it will definitely backfire on her. Fortunately, her plan is not going so well, and hopefully Lucky and Zev can the handle the situation.

    Chapter Ten

Yes, Lucky was smart not to deal with Lilith since she is the original vampire after all and must have untold powers that have yet to be revealed. And Zev and Ari definitely have a history together, and Ari was most likely another lackey who the vampires are using for their gain, which explains why he was there at the gate as well.

    Chapter Nine

Yes, Lucky trying to recreate the Magic Mirror must have really spooked them, and it has to be led by Lilith herself. Funny since vampires' inability to see their reflection is a common myth, and one has to wonder if there's a connection to that and the Magic Mirror. And considering that vampires in this world mostly keep everything about their existence a secret, it really shows their desperation that they are willing to attack a notable princess. Then again, they are very powerful, both physically and politically, and would be able to cover up the incident with ease.

    Chapter Seven

Haha! Nice use of words about Velvet. Zev's family definitely had a major influence on who Zev's is today, especially his deceased grandmother, and they are the reason why he dedicates his life to being a police officer along with trying to shine a better light on his people. And Cheri and Cindi are definitely going to be useful assets to Lucky and Zev's mission to defeating the vampires, being heroes of their own instead waiting for their prince to solve the problem.
  22. Superpride

    Chapter Six

Thankfully, Lucky's luck is finally turning around, and hopefully he can start getting to know Zev when there are not rival wolves and thirsty vampires coming after them. Zev's imprint on Lucky might not be a waste after all.
  23. Superpride

    Chapter Five

YES! Very true. Also, Violet is not the typical submissive princess based on her sassiness and her desire to be more than the damsel in distress as clearly noted in this chapter. And thank you for pointing out how having to manage her lengthy hair while only living off of salad definitely shows who Violet really is.
  24. Superpride

    Chapter Four

Yeah, Lucky's father isn't as charming as in the fairy tales, right? And you're right that Zev has some commonality with Lucky in terms of their relatives, but let's just say it leans more towards the death of a loved than anything else. I don't want to spoil too much. Thank you again for the comment, and I'm looking forward to your next input.

    Chapter Three

That's a very insightful examination of Zev's character. To add to that, in the world of this story, wolves are not just seen as the scary antagonist who eat little girls in the woods, but they are actually looked down on by the rest of the society because people associate them with high crime rates and gangs that wolves call packs. Hopefully you'll understand as you continue reading that Zev is also trying to redeem his people by showing society that not all wolves are bad by being in the police and enforcing the law rather than break it. You're correct, though, that Zev needs to tone it down a little since, like you said, everything is not black and white, and hopefully Lucky will change his perspective.
