    Chapter Seven

I walked into the garden behind of Mike’s home looking for him. I was dressed in a gray-colored suit that was tailored to fit my body. Even after two years it still looked pristine since I only wore it occasionally for my father’s social events that didn’t required the tuxedo. I also used just a small dap of gel to sculpt my brown hair with a side part and took the time to add some polish to my shoes so I didn’t disappoint when I arrive at the fundraiser with Mike. This was the most I’ve cared a

    Chapter Three

Thank you for giving me plenty of food for thought. I think I'm currently more concentrated on developing interesting concepts that are out of the ordinary in gay literature, specifically gay romance that I'm not focusing the same amount of effort into the characters. Hopefully, the characters will have more depth and personality to them in future chapters and that they become more relatable. I also agree that the relationship between Duncan and Mike shouldn't be one-sided with one party providing much more into the relationship than the other. I will definitely keep that in mind as I develop their relationship to be one that is realistic and non-superficial. Again, thank you for your input which I happily accept, so I can create solutions and incorporate these into my story.

    Chapter Three

Yes, Duncan has really had it rough ever since he was birthed three minutes after his brother, so he deserves to be happy for a change, especially If that person making him happy is a man like Mike. And those dark eyes that Duncan dreamed of, evil or something more? We'll see in the next chapters of Halo!

    Chapter Three

Thank you for providing your opinion on Miranda. Yeah, she most likely had a close relationship with Mike before he disappeared which must've affected her greatly. And I'm happy you liked the ending scene of the chapter. There's definitely going to be more where that came from. *wink*

    Chapter Two

    I appreciate it.

    Chapter Two

Thank you for the review and thanks for liking this story by saying you're hooked on it. Yeah, I wish I could somehow visually depict at least what Duncan and Mike would look like, but hopefully the descriptions of them is reliable enough and maybe I can do something to the effect of visual images in the future. And Mike is definitely a mystery that hopefully future chapters will shed more light on (pun intended haha).

    Chapter Two

The only thing known right now is that Mike returned from the Philippines ten years later after his family presumed him missing. The only thing I can say is that something definitely happened to him back in the Filipino country, and whether it was good or bad will hopefully be answered in the next chapters.

    Chapter One

I'm happy you like the beginning of my story and I appreciate your input of knowledge on fraternal vs identical twins which I will definitely keep in mind when writing future chapters for the story. Thank you!

Thanks for the review and I hope I will satisfy your curiosity with future chapters for the story.

Thanks again for being my editor, JayT!

    Chapter One

Thanks for the review! And thanks for the observation about twins and whether it is common for them to have different personalities rather than similar ones for example. I'll definitely be doing some research on that and hopefully will incorporate what I learn in the story.

    Chapter One

Thank you for letting me know that I need an editor my for story since seeing too many errors in a story, for me at least, takes me out of the experience that the author is trying to convey to the reader. Thankfully, I have an editor now and you should know that future chapters will be edited before they are posted.

    Chapter Five

I'm happy that you're looking forward to more from my story. And yes, even though Duncan is supposedly valued by his father for his adeptness in mathematics and science, he still is naïve when it comes to other things like what you have specified in your review. Maybe Mike will teach him a thing or two about self-defense and how not to walk alone in the middle of a forested area without at least something to protect himself in case he gets attacked by a bloodthirsty creature of the night haha.

    Chapter Five

You're correct that Duncan has had a really bad day, mostly because of his twin brother, Dustin, who turns out to be the jealous brother because of their father's new preference for Duncan. Add that with the vampire-like man attacking him in the forest and he has had a really, REALLY bad day. We'll see if things get better for him soon now that Mike has come to the rescue!

    Chapter Five

I'm really happy that you're enjoying my story. And Duncan certainly is lucky AND unlucky in the same time haha. Hopefully the positive will soon outweigh the negative and that Duncan can finally have his chance for true happiness in his life because of Mike.

    Chapter Six

Thanks for asking that question. I'm Filipino, but I was born and raised in the United States versus my parents who were both born and raised in the Philippines. Regardless, I'm very exposed to Filipino culture and society even though I have only vacationed there twice in my entire life. The food and the family, in my opinion, are very important to Filipinos and I really want to share everything related to the Filipino people to others who might not be familiar with my people. So, what better way to do that than with a story that includes romance and action. I'm happy to see that you are doing your own research and that you're enjoying the story based on your reviews which I greatly appreciate you posting. And you're right about Dustin, but is there more to his reasoning than simple jealousy. We'll see!

    Chapter Six

I was standing there, everything except my beating heart was moving as I looked back and forth at Mike and the man who tried to sink his daggered teeth into me. I didn’t know what to do right then, but Mike helped me by placing a hand on my chest and pushing me back. My own guardian angel, come to my rescue. “Stay back, Duncan. I’ll handle him,” Mike said, not taking his eyes off the man. “You shouldn’t have done that,” the man said, dropping his hands, exposing the bloody gash on his fo

    Chapter Five

It was lunch break and instead of eating, I was in the library researching everything that I could about the mysterious tribe in the Philippines. I could’ve asked Mike, but he looked exhausted last night after eating ice cream with Miranda and making sure she didn’t have another bad dream. It would’ve been selfish to press him for questions then, so I decided to do my own research, and unsurprising there wasn’t a ton of information about a tribe of people who could manipulate light with the powe

    Chapter Four

I ate my bowl of cereal at the kitchen island, not realizing I had a small smile on my face until Dustin said, “Hey, are you okay, Duncan?” Facing Dustin, I said, “Yeah, why do you ask?” “Nothing. It’s just…you usually don’t look so…I don’t know. Content?” Dustin said as he uncapped a bottle of water and took a gulp. He then smirked and said, “Let me guess. You’re seeing someone, aren’t you?” Of course, I was, but I couldn’t admit to Dustin that the person I was thinking about was an

    Chapter Three

Eyes. Dark eyes. Dark eyes with broken vessels and surrounded by cracking, flaking skin stared at me widely. They were expressing anger, horror…and most of all, intense hatred as they bore into my soul, unnerving me immensely. Why me? I opened my eyes, feeling the vibrations of my phone in my pocket and relieved to have returned from that strange and sinister dream. My room was dark and quiet. There was the distant sound of a television airing a sporting event, most likely being watched

    Chapter Two

The bell rang and another school day had ended. I walked through the school with such fascination as if I were exploring the hallways and students in a whole new light. This was mostly due to my newly restored vision that still brought thrills inside me since the weekend during the house party. I don’t believe my vision was ever this good even with contacts and I had Mike to thank for that. Seriously, the man saved me from drowning, allowed me to wear his clothes when mine were wet and then gave

    Chapter One

A halo. That was what I saw above their head as the shadowy figure reached for my hand and grabbed it. The figure, this angel, my savior, then pulled my hand as they floated to the heavens where I can finally dive into eternity. The next thing that I remembered was coughing up water and having my body turned to the side as I tried to breathe. I was so cold too and it did not help that lungs hurt like hell. As my mind slowly surfaced back into reality, I look up and saw people looking dow

    Halo

Duncan has always lived in his fraternal twin brother's shadow. Dustin was blond, muscular and popular, while Duncan was brown-haired, miniscule and pathetic. That was until the long lost brother of Dustin's girlfriend comes back a decade later after being missing during a family vacation in the Philippines. There is something strange about the man who seems to be carrying more baggage than what he left behind and the way he looks at Duncan with those blue eyes is just the beginning.
