Thank you! From getting dirty with Rick to being offered the job as Beckett's sheriff, Freddy definitely has plenty to think about. And with the Dream being a looming threat, things are getting to get more complicated as the story continues.

I entered the bakery of Donohue’s, the bell signaling my appearance in the establishment as I approached the front counter. A familiar face smiled at me. “Good morning… Freddy, right?” Ariel greeted. I nodded and smiled back. “Good morning to you too, Ariel.” I reached for my police hat that I usually lifted when greeting people but then realized I was neither in a police uniform nor on-duty. I just smoothed my hair, saving myself from that smidge of embarrassment. Ariel giggled.

The supernatural element will become more significant as the story continues, but the blossoming romance won’t take a backseat either. 🙂

Yes, it seems that slow burn was worth it at the end. But this is just the beginning for these two men as they traverse the complications that might arise from their connection, while outside forces are also placing obstacles for the two men to overcome. All the while they have some fun together during their visit in the small town of Beckett, Ohio.

Yes, from enemies to potential lovers is always a spicy read. All that built up frustration for Rick might have contributed to Freddy go right towards what they did in the bedroom. Makeup sex is a thing, right? Anyways, I'm very happy that you love this chapter and looking forward to continuing this story of Freddy the grumpy but passionate police officer and the marionettist who pulls all the right strings.

Haha! Thanks! I hoped this scene was great to read and that it was balanced, not too short and rushed but not too long-winded and a chore to read through either. Very glad to know you thought the scene between Freddy and Rick was hot. This is their first sexual interaction, but it certainly won't be their last. 😉

Very true as well. I also believe there is always some degree of favoritism when there's more than one child, and it appears that favoritism for Beth is stronger and more evident to poor Freddy.

Yes, Beth appears to be a very open-minded, easy-going person who won't mind her older brother and former boyfriend getting together. And we'll see if she had any ulterior motives when she made them both the best man to her wedding haha.

I hoped it intrigued you. I know this is a major twist, but hopefully you‘ll stick around as the story continues and the mystery of the phenomenon starts to unravel. And as far as the characters know, there’s no confirmation that the Dream is spreading from its point of inception, but we’ll see what happens next.

Two days passed since the plan to entertain a first grader with a puppet and music at her surprise birthday party came into fruition. A day before, Beth arrived at the house again and showed me the printed marionette of the spider I sketched for her fiancé to create a three-dimensional model of. The final product looked incredible, every detail from the eyes to the etchings that resembled hair was done immaculately. The puppet almost looked like a puppy if it had six eyes and eight legs that is.

Yeah, I love slow-burn romances, so reading them about getting wild under the sheets in the next chapter will most likely not happen haha.
