Welcome! I was really looking for a place for them to have sex lol I was confusing Kieran/Trillion in my head lol
-
The mountain recognized him. That was the wrong way to think about it. Mountains didn’t recognize people. Mountains were stone and ice and indifference. But the terrain under Coal’s hooves was changing in ways that Sev’s body understood before his mind caught up, the specific angle of a ridge line, the particular shape of a cliff face, the way a stream bed curved around a rock formation that had been old when Sev was born and would be old when Sev was dust. He knew this place. He’

No! Sex then straight to battle 😂

Trillion woke up holding Ember and pretending he wasn't. His face was in Ember's hair. His arm was around Ember's waist. His chest was pressed flush against Ember's back, their bodies fitted together with the specific seamless precision of two people whose bones had memorized each other's shapes overnight. The bond between them was humming at a frequency Trillion had never felt before, deeper and warmer and more present than anything the last week had produced, a low vibrating chord that sa

Haha, the side characters overtook the mains again 😂

I was thinking of you with that last Sev look. I know you're suspicious 😏
-
Aww Garran and Thalion are good fae parents 😂 I am planning on waking people up BTW. It's lame they're asleep. I was asleep, sorry for not answering. And I know, I love poor Severin 🥰 is Sevlo a bad couple name???

Caelo didn’t realize he’d taken Sev’s hand until they were already halfway around the boulder. It’d just happened. One second his hand was at his side and the next second it was wrapped around Sev’s, fingers interlocked, the way hands interlocked when the bodies they belonged to had stopped asking permission and started making decisions on their own. The bond in his chest gave a small warm pulse of approval at the contact, which was annoying, because Caelo had not asked for its opinion.

Also a fun reaction 😂

Whew, i was braced all day for a reaction. Thank you!

Morning found them in pieces of each other. Trillion woke first, warm for the first time in days, with Ember tucked against his chest and the curve of Ember’s unbroken wing still half draped over both of them like a blanket the night had forgotten to take back. For one long, drowsy second he did not remember the war, or Noxcarra, or Zereth, or the fact that they were four riders on a cold scrap of land at the edge of the Frostpires. He only remembered Ember. The weight of him. The

Thanks for reminding me 😂

Ember saw the fire first. A thin thread of orange light between the dark trunks, maybe a quarter mile ahead, flickering low the way a fire flickered when someone had built it small on purpose. Not a bonfire. Not a signal. A camp fire, built by someone who knew how to keep the glow close to the ground and the smoke thin and didn’t want to be found. The bond in his chest detonated. A full body eruption of warmth and recognition that hit him so hard his vision went white at the edges and

The bond was screaming at him today. Not the low steady ache of the last four days. Not the manageable background throb he'd been learning to carry like a bruise he'd stopped poking at. This was louder. Sharper. A bright insistent pulling in his chest that flared every few minutes with a force that made his hand go to his sternum before he'd decided to put it there. Ember was reaching for him. Not the gentle searching reach of the last few days, the quiet where are you, where are

I love action movies when they just stand back and let the hero win 😂

The between space sat between them like a third rider. Sev hadn't mentioned it since they'd woken up. Neither had Trillion. They'd broken camp at first light, eaten a silent breakfast of dried meat and hard bread, saddled the horses, and ridden north without discussing the fact that yesterday they'd been dragged into a crack between worlds by a corrupted portal and had nearly been eaten by things that laughed in the dark. It was right there though. In the air. In the careful extra foot

Omg 😂 Though the lesson about the crappy christmas tree sticks out.

I always love the messiest character 😂
-
You saw through my clever narrative! 😂

The third day was the easiest one yet, which should have been a warning. Trillion woke before dawn with the bond sitting quiet under his ribs and the cold mountain air sharp against his face and the low orange remnants of last night's fire still glowing in the small pit Sev had dug between the roots of an old oak. The sky through the branches above was just beginning to lighten at the eastern edge, the deep black of full night thinning to the pale gray blue that came before the sun remember

I hope so!

Impossibly convinced... 😂 Fair enough. Though it would have really dragged if the main couples were separated the rest of the story!

Ember had been staring at the mirror for the better part of an hour. It sat on the blanket beside his good hand, gleaming softly in the gold light of the healing lamps. Pale fae metal rimmed in carved silver. The glass was smooth now, the crack gone, and the surface caught the lamp light in a faint warm shimmer that made it look almost alive. Caelo had reminded him of the activation words last night, briefly, before bed. He remembered them. He just hadn't been able to make himself say them.

Caelo woke in his own bed before dawn and knew right away something was wrong. He didn’t know what yet. His body knew before his head did. It was the kind of waking that happened when something in the world had shifted while you slept like a door opening that shouldn’t have, a gate unlatching in the night, a horse moving where no horse should be. He lay still for a breath and listened. The palace was quiet. Too quiet. He rolled upright and swung his legs over the edge of the
