Thanks for commenting Parker. Sorry, it's been a difficult read :(. This is definitely one of the more scarier chapters (in terms of Stefan's story), but maybe I can give my perspective on this chapter to see if it changes anything for you? As awful as Stefan's attack was, I think we're coming to a point where Stefan is now envisioning a future outside of Chris. Before, he was in denial of the abuse and truly loved him. But in this chapter, I wanted to suggest that something is clicking in him. He's realizing that what he's going through isn't okay and that leaving is an option for him, especially in the last few sentences of his story. For Devan, he's definitely coming across a real challenge here, "a hard, slog of a battle" as you mentioned. In this chapter, I wanted to hone in on Devan's resilience in the face of all this. He knows it would be hard, and he believes this battle to be worth it. He went through the hurdle of grieving his brother's death, and now I see him using that strength to connect with Jade, even though his family will be an obstacle. I hope you can pull through. I appreciate your comments :).

It’s no secret: Leroy hates most physical activity. Going on hikes. Bike rides through the neighborhood. Walking. Leroy has a phobia towards the outdoors and pretty much anything that involves him doing something that will make him sweat. Leroy, Jace, and I have P.E. during first period. Jace used to think Leroy was cute because of his “innocence.” But he would deny his attraction after Leroy said the arts were for sissies. “I’ll show him a sissy,” Jace said as we entered the locker rooms.

That's right, what he's done has negatively impacted everyone he cares about. It's not going to be easy to rectify what he's done.

Yes, Jesse is just beginning to understand the aftermath of his actions. You'll soon find out what his response is to this drastic change in his life. Nikolai will definitely need some time to heal after this. And yes! Chandra is Stefan's rock. It's nice to write about their relationship.

Hmm, rain, the night, and the vast emptiness makes me think of a meditative space. The dark imagery can be haunting, but this poem was pretty calming for me :).

The sun stung Jesse’s eyes as he attempted to pry them open. His arm hung on the edge of a navy blue couch. His mouth still had the aftertaste of liquor in it and his head throbbed viciously. He attempted to sit up, lazily wiping the sleep from his eyes and getting acclimated to his surroundings. “You’re awake.” Jesse blinked and turned his head to the kitchen. His tired eyes attempted to focus as he saw a familiar face with a white tank top and boxer shorts. “I’m making coffee. Want some?”
