  1. Chapter Thirty-Five – The Shadows Grow Longer It wasn’t yet noon when they left the settlement, headed for the Black Forest. But their steps seemed to linger, something pulling them back as if wanting to prevent them from arriving. Vince knew he should ask if they were getting any closer. The day of the Embercasting, as young Theo had explained to them, was essential not only for the Whiteflame wolf pack, but for the world as a whole as well. The pyre lit on this day would keep the evil spi
  2. Thank you! And I will check out that movie!
  3. I will put your detective skills to the test! Consider yourselves warned!
  4. He-he, I will look forward to how the readers' opinions of various characters change over time. A fluffer, lol. Yes, I'm old enough to know what the term means!
  5. Oh, Bastien is right to warn Lawrence. And Lawrence will be on his guard, but will it be enough?
  6. Hmm, what an interesting POV. Yes, readers get to see only what Lawrence gets to see, hence the whole mystery. As he investigates, I like to believe that the readers will start investigating by his side! Motivations - oh yes, that's what a motive makes!
  7. I know I think it's because I'm focusing on the mystery - without neglecting the characters, only they will be revealed more gradually. If it helps, it will still be a love story - though romance might be only a subplot in this one for a change.
  8. Lawrence is down to earth for the most part. His attraction to Bastien may work or not in favor of his investigation... but we will see!
  9. That's a reasonable worry to have!
  10. Oh, yes, especially some of them Bastien... will charm Lawrence.
  11. Chapter Six – The Invisible People The first thing Lawrence did after waking up and getting ready for the day was to ignore Bastien’s order about not taking the empty pot back to the kitchens or express his gratitude in any way. To prevent curiosity and questions, he had wrapped it in the same cloth, along with the spoon that had been provided with the meal. It had been a hearty dish, allowing Lawrence to go to sleep in a good mood, but now he was back to being the investigator in charge of
  12. Thank you so much. It means a lot. I hate stories where details are forgotten or things exist without mattering for the plot, so I always do my best to make my stories make sense.
  13. This is so spot on. No, they cannot what happened, but they can understand it so they can use this knowledge in their present.
  14. Just as Jack noticed, too!
  15. Jack and Vince are on it! Although they need to be prepared for so many surprises...
  16. Yep, a little devil he is! (Tasmanian devil, not a devil-devil)
  17. Thank you for the vote of confidence!
  18. I just commented the same thing earlier! Gosh, I should have read all the comments first.
  19. One of the last chapters was titled 'You Cannot Change the Past' - not only because it's a time-traveling rule like Jack suspects. But the present and the future can be influenced. Our heroes need to keep their eyes peeled!
  20. Can't believe I found one such gif!
  21. Of what readers know at this point... these are scenarios to play out. But things will be even crazier. (This is me, and this is the understatement of the year).
  22. Indeed! Jack has no idea!
