  1. Yes, you're right, fighting blind it is. But they're smart, brave, and maybe, just maybe a little lucky!
  2. Ah, thanks for the background on the cartoon! My husband watched it some many years ago and its absurdity amused him, so that's how I caught snippets of it. Oh, Jack the little white wolf... oh, the powers that grow in him... He's going to surprise you more and more! Cute wolf in the gif for real.
  3. One good, one bad, what can we say?
  4. Ah, someone remembered that little tidbit! I'm happy! I like dropping hints in advance.
  5. For now, it is the only thing that bends.
  6. But... but... who's to say that... they weren't already wolves?
  7. I'm afraid my imagination is running away with me... when writing fantasy, at least. But I'll wade through. You'll have that HEA and by then, hopefully, my convoluted plot will make perfect sense.
  8. What the evil beings don't realize... is that the more they test Jack, the better he gets at fighting them. Yes, it is an illusion, which is why Theo's cooperation is needed, so let's see if he gets fooled in the end.
  9. This is the evil plan, yes. Theo is not completely helpless, but he is going against truly dark forces...
  10. I like to believe that the magical powerful beings that will eventually be revealed... will top every other powerful character I've ever written.
  11. Jack is really, really growing into his role! And he won't take an insult lying down.
  12. Spoken from experience?
  13. I believe you could say that...
  14. Chapter Thirty-Two – You Cannot Change the Past Vince knew he needed to act fast. The mire covering Jack’s front paws was climbing. “This isn’t good,” Jack stammered, his entire body shaking. “It’s like being swallowed by monstrous licorice jelly. I hate licorice.” What could he do? Their enemy did have the essence of jelly – Jack wasn’t wrong – and grabbing it was like fighting ghosts. Ghosts. A single wild idea sprang up in his thoughts. “Ready, Jack?” he whispered.
  15. Oh, Lawrence will have a few things to worry about... Let's see how he resists! (or not)
  16. You know me!
  17. He-he, we'll see...
  18. That appears to be the general consensus!
  19. Lawrence has his suspicions, too... and he's no fool.
  20. I knew I could count on you for the 'unofficial' soundtrack! Yes, that is pretty much the kind of music Ali likes! And there's something to it, too... something that will be revealed later. You're right to see the similarities between him and Jack, because, well, I guess I need my dear chaotic character to help me with the comedic relief when things go crazy. But yes, there is also another part to him, and Lawrence will keep his eyes peeled!
  21. Lawrence may be wondering the same thing. But he is thinking like an investigator and he'll use everything he can to learn the truth.
  22. Oh, he is... and he does...

    Mezereon

Chapter Three – Mezereon The way the lunch attendees were seated in the large refectory told Lawrence that schools tended to be the same everywhere. The faculty enjoyed their lunch at a table elevated on a dais, remote from the din of the room. Cliques were evident, everywhere he looked, and normally he would’ve picked a quiet spot so he could enjoy his lunch alone. It wasn’t that he didn’t prefer the companionship of others when available. Friendships didn’t come easily to him. The only tw
  24. He is definitely like a fish out of water... But he is also very intelligent, so he'll adapt. Especially since the setting and the people in it will throw all sorts of challenges at him.
  25. Thank you for your comment! It's difficult, but also rewarding to stay in the time for which the story is written.
