The ride over to Chandler’s house was a quiet one. I grew nervous the closer we came and I somewhat missed going to his house and spending time with him. I couldn’t understand why the people in my life had to mess up the relationships they had with me. I didn’t want to be the guy that ends up alone; but, with Chandler, Tim, and Evan being unsteady with me right now, I knew a lot could change. Tim and Evan might brainwash Mandy and Ann into not being my friends. As stupid as that sounded to me, I

When Monday rolled around I was exhausted by the long weekend. Laura bitched at me until her face turned purple about running off with Chandler to some party that she had no knowledge of -- and on a school night. I wondered when she had become such a prude. There had been lot of nights she had come home tipsy from a night out and snuck in. She used to make me cover for her when mom would ask about her. Now, when it came to Chandler, I was getting this constant bitching and looking after from Lau

The next morning I hoped that Chandler might have just been erased from my memory, but he wasn’t. I also hoped that the little talk I'd had with Jase would have been enough for me, but it wasn’t. On top of that, Laura had been acting strangely towards me ever since I woke up. She fixed me breakfast in silence while I waited for her to finish. I wanted her to start a conversation with me, but she never did. Then she left to go hang out with Robbie after we ate, also in silence. I didn’t try to ta

“Who were you arguing with on the phone?” Laura asked, walking into my room. “Nobody it was just stupid.” I lied, rubbing at my eyes with my sleeve. “Didn’t sound like nobody.” Laura stated evenly, then walked into my room and shut the door. “Just leave it, Laura. You’re not going to push me around this time.” I snapped picking up the phone dialing Jase’s number. He was the only one that I could talk to in this situation. “Who are you calling?” Laura asked, in a huff and frowning. “I’m

“So uh, where’s your man at?” Sean asked as I greeted him at his house before I left for the party. Andy had pushed me away and I felt bad that I was stupid and talked to that stupid ass friend of his. “He’s just a friend.” I learned my lesson; keep the relationship a secret until he’s ready to tell. “Come on Chandler we’re not retards.” Amber countered as everyone gathered around the doorway after I arrived. “Just drop it guys me and Andy had a fight and I want to just get drunk off m

As I opened the door I forced a smile and even though all I wanted to do is walk up to my room pull the covers over my head and cry for what Chandler had done and what it could all mean. I was freaking out inside thinking Tim had told everyone and I found myself studying Evan’s reaction to seeing me at the door, but I found nothing. “Hey you ready to go?” Evan asked and I sighed. “You guys just go have fun with out me I don’t feel well.” I lied I just didn’t feel like it. “You don’t loo

I woke up and became instantly excited about what laid before me this weekend. I woke up just before my alarm clock went off and I began getting dressed and ready for school. The week of hell was coming to an end and with most of my problems resolved I felt like I was going to own today. “Shit-head are you ready to go?” Laura asked from behind the door of my bedroom. “Yeah, why?” I asked wondering why she’d want to know. “Because I got a damned flat tire so I have to ride the bus.”

I woke up to Chandler nudging me awake. I had given in and stayed the night with him. When I walked over to my things I found that I had missed calls on my cell phone and they were all from my sister. “Damn I forgot to call and tell Laura.” I announced as I listened to her bitching and ranting on the first message. Then I listened and heard as each one of them lost the anger and became more worried. “I feel like shit.” I groaned dialing Laura’s number. I looked down at my watch and

I woke up feeling refreshed, hoping like hell that the day I had yesterday was going to be the last bad day I had for awhile. The morning started out well enough except for one thing: Laura wasn’t awake when she should have been. When I went into her room it was a wreck. Tissue paper was spread across the bed and on the floor. She hadn’t even bothered to take her make-up off when she went to bed the night before. I wondered what the matter was; but then I thought back to the reaction she had to

I groaned hearing my sister bellow. I knew I had to be late if she was waking me up, but that didn’t make me move any faster. I then dragged myself into the bathroom to take a shower and then when I got out I looked at the clock on my nightstand table and my mouth flew open. It was five minutes until first period started and my sister and me were going to be almost unbearably late for school. I felt instantly bad for not rushing, but she had left me alone. I then threw a pair of jeans and a

I woke up when I felt Jase getting up from the bed. He had tried to be careful and not wake me, but the weight and pressure of his body on mine had left me. I watched him, as he got dressed not paying attention to me. “Where are you going?” I whispered sleepily. “I have to go home to get ready to go with my mom and dad to church.” Jase answered and I sat up the covers falling from my chest. “Oh, ok.” I stated and I grabbed his hand pulling him down onto the bed. I then kissed him on

I woke up Saturday morning early as I had went to bed pretty early too. The anger returning from the night before I was forgotten by my friends while they sucked face. Then on top of that Jase still didn’t want to speak to me, as I am now the worst person in the world to him. Nothing was going to change that. He had made up his mind when he pushed me away and then it made up my mind to let him when he had the nerve to hang up on me when I only wanted to know how he was feeling. He blamed me

After the party at Chandler’s all I could think about was being angry with Andy. Even though my mother after she got over her shock of me being beat senseless tried to tell me that Andy would have protected me if he had known. Mom and me have talked a lot this week. She took a whole week off from work to look after me. Even though it put a huge strain on my father. “You know who that was that did this to you don’t you.” Mom asked me one morning after I had waked up early. I knew who it

I woke up well into the afternoon to the sound of Laura urging me to get up. She had given me a lot of time alone and I knew I was going to have to face her before long. She isn’t like me, I let people talk when they’re ready, but she pushes you until you spill your heart. “I’ve let you sleep long enough Andrew.” Laura announced from my doorway again when I grumbled and turned away. I didn’t want to get out of bed, not today. “Leave me alone.” I whispered burying my head under my pil

Jase had woken up before me and I could hear the shower running in my bathroom. I stood rubbing my hair down trying to control the spikes before I put on shorts and walked down to see if anyone else had woken up by now. “Hey honey how was your night?” Mom asked smiling at me before turning back to the stove she was cooking a fairly large breakfast by the looks of it. “It was fine.” I answered walking around the bar to sit on a stool watching my mother cook. “I’ve never heard you talk

Jase was waiting outside by the bus stop when we arrived at his house. He had a blue colored bag and it looked as if he had recently showered and he changed clothes from what he was wearing at school. I slid over and opened the back door for him to get in. “So Jase, spending the night, huh.” Laura said as she started in the direction of the house. “Yeah I am,” Jase, replied he looked nervous and he turned to watch the houses pass on the way to mine. Jase had brought up the overnight visi

“So little brother gets beaten up on the second day of school.” Laura announced as we entered the empty house. “Yeah, what is with some people? Do they have sticks jammed up their asses?” I asked looking at her. “Some people do actually.” Laura responded nodding. “What do you want to eat shit-head?” She draped her arm around my shoulder and led me into the kitchen. “Uh, spaghetti.” I responded sitting down on a stool. “Well, no time to sit around because that’s wha

That morning I woke up before my alarm went off. I leapt out of bed and went straight into the shower. I didn’t toss and turn or dream that night like I normally did during school nights. I didn’t really know why I was rushing around getting ready because I was early not late. I didn’t have to be awake for another hour, but I wanted to be ready to run out the door with out hesitation. “You’re up bright and early.” Mom said smiling as she held on to her cappuccino curled up on a chair with

“Honey you’re going to be late for your first day again!” Mom yelled from the bottom of the stairs. “I don’t know why you have to spend more time getting ready on the first day of school and not for the rest of them.” She continued getting frustrated. “Mom come on, the first day always suck.” I said as I slammed down my hair gel losing the battle with that stray hair that just wouldn’t stick right. “Well you’re going to miss the bus and then you’re going to cause me to be late and

This is my 'very' first M/M fiction writing project. My first true and real writing project of length for fun. So I believe I break every rule in the books and my writing is very raw and unclean. The story could use a rewrite to be honest, but I post this here, because it is the first. I'm not going to shy away from it. I just hope from this story to my latest works, I have grown in your eyes - the reader. Written around 2002 - 2003, first posted in 2003.

I couldn’t wait for this year to begin. It will only be a few more days four to be exact that my best friend Aras would be going for his license. He had been driving in the back roads around his house with his dad and this year I just knew that we would be in a car soon enough. We would no longer be dependent on parents to take us places. We could take the girls places as well as the parties. No more chaperoned parties. This was a time in our lives where we would finally have the ability t

Written for the Fairy Tales special anthology edition, but I missed the deadline, decided to post it anyway. As the title hints, it is a very modern and high school version based loosely off the fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty. One of my favorite fairy tales.

SIS 6 I didn’t know if Mom had finished the to-do list Dad had made for me this morning. I hated that we were suddenly working against him, if he found out about that it wouldn’t be Mom who was punished. It would be me. I would be the one scraping dried gum off the pavement with a toothbrush or some sort of difficult meaningless chore. He needed for me to learn every lesson he thought I had to learn. I wasn’t well adjusted to Mom’s new tactic of under minding him. I felt the urge to go ov

SIS 4 I woke up not really wanting to do anything, but not long after I opened my eyes the door opened and Dad walked into the room. He looked at me and I had wanted to pretend to still be asleep, but he had already seen me. He offered me a seemingly cold smile when I rose up in my bed. I was used to him barging in on me when he wanted to say something, he only knocked when Mom told him to respect my privacy, but I knew she was already at work by this time of day. It gave him leverage in de

SIS 2 As I slid into the driver’s seat of my blue Pontiac G6, which I received after our team went to the state finals. Dad was proud of me when I passed for over four hundred yards in the game before with no interceptions. It had been the best game I had played, but we lost the next game and the car was the only good thing that came out of the hard loss that year. The park wasn’t that far away from the house as this part of town was more spaced out it allowed for a large playground park to
