Different Lessons

You left me for dead,
A tree with out leaves in Spring.
No way to move on from this pain.
After you taught me all about love.
Then changed the lessons.
Now I’m trying to find myself,
When I had been ready,
Ready to enter the unknown,
With you I wasn’t afraid.
Then you became my one nightmare.
A cold that I couldn’t escape,
A sinking feeling that had to be fate.
But it was too deep for me,
I couldn’t move.
And was unable to breathe.

I like a good single story. A person doesn't have to wait for a sequel in a few months. Don't have to worry about authors going on hiatus (yes that happens with professionals too), and you don't have to invest a lot of reading time in a series you enjoy, to find that the author has murdered it all in the last book.
But yes.. don't get me wrong, I have read and enjoyed a lot of series, lately.
Hmm.. I'm going to slide in some good ole Country music..
Lady Antebellum:
Hello World
I Run To You
American Honey
Need You Now
Little Big Town:
Stay
Bring it on Home
Lonely Enough
Boondocks
Dixie Chicks:
Travelin' Soldier
Top of the World
Voices inside my Head
Wide Open Spaces
Then of course! My all time favorite band - Lifehouse.. yeah, I know they're not country..
Lifehouse:
You And Me
Blind
Everything
Broken
Hanging by a Moment
From where you are
Heh, I would have been guilty of a few typos in my latest chapter, but my super secret Beta Reader/Editor man found them. I can't remember for sure, but I think one of them was.. "He didn't wave his head.."

The next morning I woke up to the early morning heat. The humid air caused me to sweat and I peeled myself off the air mattress. I was alone in the tent and when I emerged I saw that Greg had already cleaned the campsite. The fire had been lost to the storm last night and was a pile of soaked ash on the ground.
I was about to say something to Greg, when I noticed that he was on his cell and when he saw me, he held up his finger and started walking away. Last night had ended s
Me and my husband watched Soldier's Girl together.. lol. I was watching it and he got nosy.. I told him that it probably wasn't his kind of thing.. but we watched it anyway. It's one of my favorite LGBT movies.
Jacob is still a member here.... maybe we can just chalk it up to stress and a misunderstanding? Some authors may think they are being bullied because they're not seeing all the work that is being done, first hand. Some authors don't realize the work it takes to manage/update and the like. Keep in mind though that these people who have questions/concerns aren't mean spirited... and probably aren't trying to be.
So if you think you're being bullied, you probably aren't. The staff is just really stressed out and have probably dealt with similar problems time and time again... it was just you that asked last.
As a Hosted Author, I understand the process of becoming a Hosted Author. I was hosted back when the staff was full and less stressed out by transitions and the like, so it was a pretty seamless experience. Patience and a willingness to cooperate is key though and a lot of authors will do well to remember that.

When we stopped at a convenience store, I was going to follow Greg, but he put his hand on mine stopping me from unbuckling my seat belt. The touch of his hand sliding over mine sent a jolt through my arm. It surprised me but he didn’t remove his hand, and I had to fight back the urge to move mine.
“I’ll only be a minute, you should call your mom and tell her you’ll be out all night,” Greg winked then slid out of his blue jeep. When he disappeared into the store, a bell jingled when
That the LONG standing "Most people online" record was broken? Not even a DomLuka sighting either... (Domaholics don't attempt to slaughter me for that reminder, I'm pretty lethal myself)
As for the reason? I don't know, the last time the record was broken the most plausible reason was that some popular authors all posted new chapters on the same night... well Domacholics would tell you that it was them that broke the record... right Vic? So one can only wonder what brought us together yesterday.
Anyway, just thought I would point that out since I like to know this sort of stuff myself.
A lot of the General Education that we waste time with for two years or a year and a half - we can learn AND do learn in High School. I think, since we're losing ground in Math and Science, we need to phase out the History/Government and the Social Sciences.. make it more about the area of studies. High School English, Math, and Science is a big problem and all of that follows students into college.
I hated that I wasted 2 years taking classes and learning the same things that I learned in High School... although it helped me maintain a 4.0 that got me into the Physical Therapy programs.
