Elijah is in shock. His reactions are just that... his way of dealing with things. When I wrote the dark to light scene, I could absolutely picture it clearly in my head. I didn't want Kage's death to be all darkness. Elijah always maintained there was goodness within Kage. He was so right. Elijah can't shadow shift, but it wouldn't make a difference anyway. He's committed to seeing things through to the bitter end. He now had too much invested.

Kage's death broke my heart. He left behind something for Elijah to take strength from, plain and simple. He's going to need it. I don't see my writing as exceptional so thank you for the compliment.

I've learned to take seemingly negative comments with a grain of salt. After all tone of voice can't be conveyed through written words unless specifically indicated. It's why I call @Mrsgnomie a bitch, and not a bitch. She knows the difference. 😉 I agree with you when you say shifterslover passionate reaction shows how invested in the story they are. It's a huge compliment to any writer and should be taken as such. I've said it many times before, I write for the pure enjoyment of it. I want my readers to be angry, to laugh, to be dumbstruck. Even shed more than a few tears. If I can't make them run through a gamut of emotions, I may as well stop writing.

I think you're right. I have a 20 yr old who is the same way. He has insurance but doesn't think he needs meds. He's too old for me to slip them into his food. Damn.

Just a few? How 'bout since the very beginning. You've stuck with me through thick and thin. And yes, everything I write (well, almost) has a purpose. If someone wants to drop me mid-story, they have every right to. You're right, threats, veiled or otherwise are not acceptable. I don't think @shifterslover was being malicious in their intent. At least I hope not. Thanks for having my back. 😘
