We don't know any of the specifics of what Miles was up to while away. I can't comment much else because I'd definitely give something away. This struck me as wrong: Miles wouldn't know how to go about developing an emotional relationship, with Troy or anyone else. Miles may have grown tremendously. Don't forget, he's had Robbie. Troy even pointed out as he was watching the vlogs that Robbie was a good influence. It's unfair to continue the assumption that Troy is the only one who has matured when you don't have the reasons for why Miles left or what hes done to deal with those reasons.

In a roundabout way. Meanwhile, Miles didn't have that opportunity. He has to come to grips with adult Troy.

They were together for more than a year. They met at 16 and parted ways at 19. But you are right that the relationship they had then was much different than whatever potential relationship could be. It's part of growing up. Once the explanation is laid out on the table, the ball will be in Troys court. He'll be the one to dictate what sort of friendship, if any, they have. It won't be a short path either. Too much water under the bridge. They'll have to rebuild and start from scratch if that's even possible.

I try. Weaving these webs is both easy and hard. It's weird because as I'm writing, I don't think about some of the connect-the-dots-moments that you guys will inevitably point out. Half the time I'm like...huh? Did I mean to write it like that? Somehow it works.

Great observations. There's still 10 chapters left and so much can happen. I love that you've picked up on the probable fact that this meeting is fleeting. Troy and Miles have separate lives and it's going to be difficult for either one to justify making a drastic change. Could it happen? Maybe. Will it happen? Only time will tell. We still need answers from Miles regarding The Abandonment. They're coming. Soon.

Train wreck or avalanche? Hmm, I do love creating a disaster wrapped in chaos and surrounded by mayhem. Still love the fact that you are steadfast in your anti-Miles sentiment. I truly appreciate that you're sticking with this. I've always thought it's a cop out when a reader bails just because they don't like a character or the direction that a story is heading. Hopefully, you're enjoying the ride.
