  1. Sometimes With Reality D.K. Daniels Sometimes with reality, life has a way of surprising you in a way you never surmised it playing out. I may be indecisive, reasonably a little jarring to soft ears, and abrupt when it comes to my kids. Though I believe I make a righteous father figure for my children. Even so, I am not one to detest my cultural heritage. I'm not a breadwinning father; my wife is certainly a homemaking mother, but my kids are not modest biblical children. Well,
  2. George is a hard-working father; he provides for his family, assures them comfort and saftey. However, a series of intriguing events capture George's attention when he discovers a rather peculiar behaviour exhibited by his youngest; 13-year-old Jamie. George must do the hardest job on the planet; being a role model for his children.
  3. Thought I'd share Padraig Cahill as he has some warmth to provide this Xmas. He is from the same city as me; a popular busker from Dublin.

    Chapter 29

Thank you for the comment; glad you enjoyed the story so far. The journey continues soon wrapping up all the conclusions in the second book which I hope to have in print during Q2 of 2020.
  5. Cody Lovaas is the same age as me now. Time has flown 😞 - Though the Gunnarsen twins Xmas song takes me back to those olden days of Happy Christmas music. They too are 18 now, crazy how everything changes in the blink of an eye.
  6. Libera are a lovely choir, I’ve gotten to see them live also. If you’ve never been to one of there concerts, you won’t be disappointed. I think their sound is timeless. One of my fav Xmas song by them in still, still, still https://youtu.be/yXb3zjMJUXI
  7. I like Christmas to have some melancholia; or at least I do in my stories in some sense. Can't deny O Holy Night in Norwegian is beautiful, but the handsome guys from Skam is an added bonus.

Thanks for the comment, and reading the story again. Glad to hear it was worthy of a second read

Glad you are able to tell the boys apart. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. Thanks for the comment

    Chapter 29

To: @apunyrocketman From: Max Wilson 10:30PM Hey Isaac, I decided to add you on Snapchat. I just want to let you know that Friday was really great. I was delighted that you enjoyed the surprise. I'm still writing my letter to you, though it will be one of my last since we have each other's phone number and Snapchat so we can talk here whenever we feel like it. Not to mention the finish date. When I walked into my English class today, our teacher kindly reminded the classroom, the

    Chapter 28

To Max, If this end's up being our last letter; I just want you to know, Max, you are a pretty awesome guy. I gratefully appreciate what you did at the game more than you will ever understand. In a way, tonight has restored my spirit in humanity a little more, and the students in this school. I never saw what you were doing, you completely surprised me in the best way imaginable. You know, even if you didn't talk to me the last couple of days, I now realize why. You just needed to adjust to

    Chapter 26

I originally thought that once Issac told about the wheelchair, he wouldn't be treated like a normal person, as with folks with a disability are usually treated more sympathetically. Something Issac despises. So, I guess that was one of the reasons he didn't mention anything because he didn't want things to change so he could be "normal." I pictured Issac using his hurt for good things. I have found the people who give a lot, and have had sad pasts usually are mini saints in themselves.

    Chapter 26

I always assumed when I wrote the part that talked a small bit about Isaac that I wanted to be quiet honest about how it happened, and how his life changed afterword. I found Isaac to be a strong inner character that makes do with what he has. Life has ups and down, but for Isaac he tries to turn them into something he can work with rather than wallowing in it. In the second book I will talking more about the personal struggles between the families and also getting further into the boys friendship. I have already written a seen talking about the time after Isaac came home from the hospital after losing his Mom and his legs, and was on bedrest, that was a sad chapter. When I hear it is heartbreaking to read in a way I am delighted. I take satisfaction I was able to write something that could cause such human emotions.

    Chapter 27

In jittery adolescences pretext I present Max Wilson... "I don't know what I was thinkin', or why it seemed to matter at first that Isaac was in a wheelchair. I guess I got scared, or maybe confused. It was like getting hit with a bus, but with reality, not an actual one, just metaphorically. Total mind warp man... sad too, only, I wanted to be a better friend, and since Isaac has accepted me, I could do the same. Nothing crazy to talk about, I'm just doing the stand up... I mean... I'm just doing the right thing. You know what feels good to do." Lol thanks for the comment, I hope you are enjoying the story

    Chapter 27

To Isaac, Sorry, I have not spoken to you in a couple of days, and I swear it's not that you have caused me to be this way. It's just I was shocked a little, that's all. I'm not saying it's weird for you to be in the wheelchair. Actually, I guess it's cool… well, that's not exactly what I mean, when I phrase it like that. I repeat I am not saying your accident was cool. Ugh… I'm useless at expressing myself, aren't I? What I am trying to say is, well… I don't know what I am attempting to ann

    You & I

Thanks, I glad you enjoyed the story. I think this book has been the most emotionally draining novel for me, but I am delighted folks like it.

    Chapter 26

To Max, I get it, it's uncanny, you didn't expect me to be sitting in a wheelchair, and I know it is a crappy thing to have done to you. I don't like lying, it isn't me as a person. It makes me extremely guilty when I stop to ponder how it must be to be when you have been forthcoming and overwhelmingly positive since the get-go. I should have just been transparent with the topic, as you have been with me. Furthermore, it is okay about the physical activity aspect, I never took any heed to it

    Chapter 25

I think Isaac is quite an aloof character, meaning if he does not wish to be hurt he can remove himself emotionally when he needs to be, but still be understanding to what another person is going through, even if they where in the wrong. I assume this is something I will address in the next book, how the cause and effect of being open, but vulnerable can hurt even if it wasn't intentional.

    Chapter 25

In the end they do, remember. The first book was more about setting the boys apart, and that is why I have chosen to write a second book dealing with the struggles that come with having a friend with a disability, but also the effects it has on the normal, and the friendship. When Isaac called himself a cripple I believe he said it as an reminiscent afterthought, how both boys are stuck mental and physically with a problem that neither of them have control over until they decide to move forward.

    Chapter 25

Well for one I think kids who are not a part of any group are more susceptible to considering peoples feelings. Growing up I was a quiet kid, introverted, interested in classical music, just the way Max is. However, parts of Isaac where prevalent in myself also. The way I saw it was if you don't bother me, I won't bother you. If you treat me like civil, I will do the same. Though yes, some kids are unkind, I think there are some genuinely good kids when you get passed all the lessons that pop culture and modern day ideals have thought them. I have found folks to be more sensitive in the last 10 years, more than ever in my lifetime, but perhaps his superhuman statement was in fact referring to both. In a sense wishing he had some of the willpower Isaac had to face his own problems. Glad you are enjoyed the book, again

    Chapter 25

To Isaac, Oh, You. I mean, I know who you are now. I'm sorry about your condition, I figure that sucks. Em… yeah, everything kind of make sense now. I am a little agitated that you lied, but I can see why you might have wanted to hide your situation. In a way, I am sorry for having kept talking about being able to run all over the place, and teaching you how to play sports or I don't know, like… being lazy. You said you swim, except how do you do that if you are in a wheelchair. Plus, being

    Chapter 24

When I wrote the book, I gradually revealed sly indicators as to what was really going on. Some people caught onto what I was already going to do, but some folks where amazed after I done it. I think I internally made the boys somewhat secretive so readers would be left somewhat in the dark with the emotion, so that everything the boys said could be taken as the truth. Writing from two POVs in first person at the same time was a little difficult as both had two completely different emotional temperaments. Isaac I found to be very humble; a sort of what you get dealt in life, you make do with. Max on the other hand was a crumbling pile of despair. In writing, we call an uninterrupted flow of thoughts a stream of consciousness. Maybe that is the word you are looking for lol. Thanks for the comment, I hope you enjoy the rest of the story

    Chapter 11

Hey, we do have a small organisation that does Lacrosse, but it is not as big as it is in America. I believe handball is bigger in Ireland than Lacrosse. We have a woman's championship also here for the sport, its included in our GAA organisation for national sports. We've always jokingly called it beach volleyball without the net divide lol. I've played handball when I was a kid and teenager. So, about 6 or 7 years ago was the last time I played, I guess somethings just fade and come back with interest at different intervals.

    Chapter 24

Ah yes, thank you for reminding me to change the status back to in progress as the format of the book changed. In the book each letter is given an individual chapter. On GA, I sometimes included two letters under one chapter. So, 23 chapters, is now 29. However, GA will only allow you to upload 2 chapters a day, 8 hours apart. The rest of the chapters will post automatically over the next 2 or 3 days as I have scheduled them now. You are right, there is more to the story.

    Chapter 24

To Max, I know what you mean; my name does have a ring to it, doesn't it? Thanks. Max is a nice name too, but I totally agree my name is better. I know, right… It's savage. It took me the best part of three days to figure out how many others were in our school. I was planning to tell you for a couple of days now, though you actually asked me. You beat me to it. In correlation with my hints, it most definitely has to be cheese gone wild! I'll admit, I got a chuckle out of that. I know
