I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Bassey and Ava sound like they were wonderful friends and companions. I'm sure you have some wonderful memories of them, that is the best way to remember them, through those good memories.

Missy may only play a small part in the story but it is an important part. She is her own character and shows how devoted many dogs are to their human companions. She knows Harry very well and easily picks up how Harry is feeling, her actions are in response to Harry's needs. As Missy sees it she is selecting and collecting new humans into the family. Missy's maternal instincts sometimes surface in her interactions with her humans. I'm very happy that she has made such a positive impact on you and other readers. I hope you will enjoy the other stories in the series, I look forward to reading any comments that you leave.

Bobbies is still used by some, among many other terms. Yes, they do still have the keys, but with the Mini being an older car it wouldn't hold back a mechanic from checking the car over. The locks were so inferior that they were easy to bypass. Most restorers will replace them with more up-to-date secure locks. Harry should get the car keys and his other possessions back very soon. Thanks for the comments Lee, they are appreciated.

Craig creates chapters that have an emotional impact on us all. Here's another one that I was also impressed with. The setting, in Mikey's room, and Charlie's concern that Harry is giving up a treasured guitar with all the memories connected to it was a powerful moment for me. I am humbled by these comments, thank you. I don't know what else to say.

Harry is a proud and independent man, I think he secretly wanted it but was too proud to say it, he needed the push to enable him to maintain his self-pride. Missy loves her human, I think she is 'claiming' more humans, but Harry will always be her main man.

I had to include this scene as it shows the closeness of their bond, I know from being the younger brother how much comfort it can bring. I'm sorry to hear about your brother, Terry. I hope the holiday gave you a chance to make some good memories.

It has always been a two-way street for the brothers, Michael has been Charlie's bridge too, I think his choice of song is his way of making that pledge to Harry, his Gramps.

@Ajbt2001 I have to say @raven1 is awesome to work with, he has helped and taught me a lot while we have been working on the story. I'm very lucky to have him as a friend and editor.

Janice is based on a neighbour from my childhood, she used to scare us kids but she was fiercely protective of her family and friends. She was one of the best neighbours anyone could wish to have.
