It was exciting, wasn't it? I enjoyed writing the fight scene, it was fun to take them buggers down. Stacy and Michael were brave and took them down efficiently. If they had entered when Harry was on his own it could easily have ended differently. Something is developing between Brad and Charlie, but what? I guess we will find out soon. Missy is a darling and gets to know people as many dogs do, I guess something about Jason's pheromones was appealing, lol. Aah, Janice, yes is a brash brassy woman with a heart of gold, what I term as a rough diamond. MOT is an abbreviation for Ministry Of Transport, every car over three years old in the UK has to undergo an MOT test to ensure it is safe and roadworthy. It is a compulsory annual safety check. Brentbridge Road is a reasonably nice area, unfortunately like a lot of areas it is not immune to being visited by thieves. Yep, a lot going on. As some will say life never comes to a stop but it does change pace and right now it has sped up a little. Michael's health, and that of his new 'Gramps' is looking up, let's keep our fingers crossed it continues that way. Dr Bowers let his guard down and got caught out, now he has to face the consequences. 'Gramps' house is going to be repaired and Harry finds out how small a world it is. In Manchester, most of the people who work in the Gay Village know each other, so it isn't really that surprising to find that Stacy knew Mikey, many would have known him and miss him. I take it as a compliment that the story has touched you, thank you. For want of a better phrase, Michael is a product of the way he was brought up and has done what he sees as the right thing to do, he is from a humble but good background. While there is no medical term for it, many doctors accept that a broken heart is as real as any medical condition, and it can be treated if caught in time and treated appropriately. My condolences on losing your great-grandmother in that way, being forced to leave her home must have been heartwrenching and traumatic for her. Danny and Jason are lovable imps, much of it is due to their parents who give them the love and security that all youngsters should have, they have been fortunate but even they had heartbreak before meeting their parents. Except for being a first-aider, I have no medical training although I have spent a lot of time in the hospital, undergone many medical procedures and witnessed more than anyone would want to. Between those experiences and research, I somehow manage to make it sound real. I'm happy that you are loving the story, I am loving your comments.

A tense chapter, read, appreciated and commented on. This continues to be one of the best stories I've read and is way up there in favourites.

Charlie is in excellent hands, Max and Stacy are men of their word. Has Charlie found a boyfriend? Time will tell my friend, time will tell. Michael is in the best place possible right now, he has a good doctor and good nursing staff to look after him. I think Gary chose one of the male student doctors to avoid any embarrassing moments, like any good doctor he doesn't just care for them, he cares about them, that's one of the things that makes him a good doctor. You don't need to wait too long for the next chapter, it's already there, lol. Thank you again for leaving your comments, I'm enjoying reading them.

Jubal's skittishness is so out there it's frightening. I hope that he can resist running and stays put like he promised Lucas, but right now I'm on the fence wondering what Jubal will do and it's damned uncomfortable sat up here! The tension was building to the point you could not only feel it but you could almost cut it with a knife! We need reassurances that Jubal will stay but only Jubal can give those assurances so I hope that Jubal and Lucas have that conversation soon, the problem is it could also make Jubal worse. Gary, you have me worried for these guys, and somehow I get the feeling that Jubal will take off soon and Lucas will go chasing after him, if that happens then Lucas had better catch him then tell and show him how much he wants Jubal to stay. Thanks for another great chapter, one that draws us in all the more, if that's possible.

Sorry for the confusion, but that's part of what makes the story more real as we often meet others with the same name as us. There is an instant attraction between Brad and Charlie. Charlie isn't necessarily looking for a relationship, but yes he did feel a pang of jealousy when he saw what Danny and Jason have and I think it is safe to say he enjoyed the kiss with Brad. Michael will have some catching up to do, but I hope he doesn't feel left out or overwhelmed when he gets out of the hospital. (Sometimes we do put the before hospital, either can be correct grammatically depending on the sentence. It's just a difference between writing styles, lol.) Did you mean Max and Stacy? They are opposites in many ways, especially in appearance, but also alike enough in other ways to complement each other. I know which comment you are referring to and it is one of the reasons I write these stories, to raise awareness and in the hope that homeless people will be better accepted and treated by society as a whole. I like that I've got you hooked, now I hope I can keep you there. Charlie does what he can out of love for his brother, it's the way Charlie is. Michael is just as devoted to his brother and would probably do the same if their circumstances were reversed. Max is a gentle giant and as he freely admits he is not as tactful as others which sometimes means he is misunderstood because of his size. Max and Stacy are good people and only do what they think is right, they don't see themselves as being generous. Jason is someone who you can't help but love, Danny is just as much fun too. They feature in The Boot Three Years On, but you will get to know and love them here too. Thank you for your wonderful comments, @Bill W, I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

There is a loose order to the stories, but nothing that says you must read me first. You are right in that each story is a self-contained stand-alone story, with each story being loosely bound and interactive with the others. They can be read in any order without spoiling each other. I hope that they all bring with them a good reading experience.

Thank you @Bill W for commenting. Knowing that readers have enjoyed the story makes it more enjoyable to write. There are other stories in The Boot World, some longer than others. Some of those stories have been re-edited in an attempt to improve them, and one or two are yet to undergo editing. The current story, What Happened To The Baxter Boys, is taking up most of my free time writing and rewriting chapters. Although it isn't finished yet I have a good buffer of chapters to entertain the readers. It is edited by @raven1 who is a great help in improving the quality of the story.

I hope you can persuade your friend to join GA, his/her stories may look at homelessness from a different perspective which would be good in highlighting the problem faced by many.
