  1. Safe travels, dugh and Thistle! Thursday I am taking the ferry to Wales, and then driving on to Lancaster, in England. This will be my first visit since March of last year, so I am really looking forward to meeting my siblings and extended family after all this time. My youngest nephew (or, to put it another way, my mother's youngest grandchild) turns 30 on Saturday, so many of the extended family will be present for that celebration. I am staying for twelve days, so should get the chance to meet any family members that miss Saturday's celebrations, as well as some of my friends.
  2. And, as the weather is not as excessively hot as it has been, I deep fried some chips ("fries"), which I ate with boiled garden peas (freshly picked), and scrambled egg. I'm letting that digest for a while, before having a bowl of mint flavoured ice-cream.
  3. I made a double-decker sandwich of mature cheddar cheese, cucumber, tomato and lettuce, using homemade wholemeal bread.
  4. We have some very welcome, but light, rain here, at the moment. Greetings, Gary!
  5. Well the heat wave has come to an end, with temperatures having dropped by about 10 Celsius degrees, from the high twenties back to a much more comfortable 19°C/66°F today, and forecast to maybe even drop a few degrees more over the next few days. It feels much 'fresher' as well compared to the muggy weather we have been experiencing. Perhaps most important is the fact that the night time temperatures are expected to drop back to the mid-teens (Celsius), which should make sleeping a lot easier. We also have a Status yellow rainfall and thunderstorm warning in place for the whole island between now and Thursday. Although the east and the south seem to be at greatest risk (I'm in the northwest). Rain would be welcome, anyway, if only for the garden.
  6. Greetings, Albert!
  7. Cheers, bro. Sweet dreams to you, as well.
  8. Did you have to stand on a chair to see it?
  9. Greetings, young Albert!
  10. Good idea, Albert! Did you know that one US gallon is approximately the same as 0.83 Imperial (UK) gallons? (Or, to put it another way, one UK gallon is approximately 1.2 US gallons.) https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/articles/units/us-gallons-imperial-gallons.php
  11. Greetings, young Albert! And happy Saturday to you, as well.
  12. Oh, I don't think so! I suspect Albert wants to keep Bucket all to himself.
  13. You gonna sell that table he's building? I'm not sure, but I think he might actually be offering to pimp Gary out...
  14. No comment.
  15. Happy Friday to you as well, ma fée. Similar weather here as well. Although some parts of the country are experiencing quite severe thunderstorms and heavy rain. Still dry here, and temperature has reached 30°C/86°F. Promised to start cooling slightly in the next day or two, with perhaps some showers.
  16. Although it may not seem right at times, sometimes in life that's all one can do.
  17. Actually, I think I have between $100 to $200 in various denominations left... (But there's no need to let Gary know that).
  18. You better have some dollar bills handy I think I have a couple of one dollar bills (US) left over from my trip to the Grand Canyon...
  19. Build two, bro! I could do with one.
  20. Greetings. Page! All well in Pageville?
  21. Greetings, young Albert!
