  1. I think I'll join clo, and go to bed. (My own bed, before any of yous lot start with the wise-cracks!) Good night, folks.
  2. I'm thinking you need this top, clo....
  3. It was strangely quiet... I think what was missing was Albert's witty comments to keep us all entertained. Seriously, though, I was a little concerned, and wondering where you were.
  4. Good to hear. Take things easy, and do whatever your doctor tell you to.
  5. How are you today, Albert? Feeling better, I hope.
  6. Perhaps he has been studying you, and seen that you normally don't eat mice, so decided to give you the present that way to let you know that they can be eaten..?
  7. Because I am not planning on using it for my 52 B&W photo challenge this week.
  8. I erected a trellis for my runner beans in my new garden over the weekend, and planted out the seedlings yesterday evening. This photograph was taken a few minutes ago, and they appear to have survived the transplanting.
  9. They do say that if a cat leaves you a present like that, it's a sign that they consider you to be part of their family, and that the gift is a suggestion that you should maybe learn to hunt for yourself. It's a big thing for a cat to do that for a human: shows it trusts you.
  10. Not too hot here, but mostly sunny with very little breeze. Currently around 15°C (59°F), but feeling quite a few degrees higher in the sun. I actually worked up a bit of a sweat earlier, digging and levering up the roots of one of the bushes I cut down when I was clearing the garden in March/April. Tough little bugger it was, but it yielded eventually. There's several more need dealing with as well, but I'll not tackle them all at once; as they say: Rome wasn't built in day. You are always welcome to send a gâteau or two to the west of Ireland if you want, clo.
  11. Sleep well, Albert.
  12. What Albert said.
  13. Sorry to hear that, Albert! But so glad to hear you're out of hospital now. ❤️
  14. Many a true word...
  15. I read that as Downtown at first - which made me think of a song from 1964... Gawd... I was only seventeen when that was released...
  16. Hi, Page! Seems quiet in here... Where are all the other regulars?
  17. Hey, Gary. Just don't over exert yourself in the heat, bro. It wasn't too bad of a day here, although very little sun. Temperature got up to around 17°C (63°F), with the same promised for tomorrow, although maybe a bit sunnier. I managed to plant my runner bean seedlings out at the bottoms of the canes of the trellis I put up over the weekend. Gave them a good watering afterwards, so they should get over the shock of the transplanting. Actually, the dull day was probably a better day for doing that job than a bright, sunny day would have been.
  18. They keep threatening a heatwave here in Ireland. By all the laws of probability they're bound to get it right eventually...
  19. You need a hug...
  20. Well, at least you realise it's a phobia, an irrational fear. In that case I won't remind you of the meaning of Valkyrie (Norse mythology: Female warriors, who served the god Odin: foreboders of war, who rode to the battlefield on horses, wearing helmets and shields; in some accounts, they flew through the air and sea. Some Valkyries had the power to cause the death of the warriors they did not favour) and laugh at you being afraid of a tiny bee. Oops, I just did!
  21. Live and let live.
  22. Tim. if you could have just arranged for a an area of high pressure to develop over Scandinavia, it would have blocked this depression from crossing Ireland. But as long as the rain knows when to stop, we won't complain too much. And, as Tim said, Stay safe, Mr B! (I can't stay too long at the moment. Have a Zoom meeting starting in 15 minutes.)
  23. Thanks, bro.
