Bran cake, fresh from the oven.
Same recipe that my mother used when I was a child.
Although I did reduce the sugar content, in deference to my Type 2 diabetes status.
I've a confession to make...
I broke curfew this afternoon and drove the 20 miles to pick up my medication from the pharmacy.
Whilst I was there I also bought some fresh fruit and vegetables from the supermarket, along with some fresh meat. And some mushrooms and a few tins of sardines! Sorry, Val and Page (not! ).
Oh! I managed to get a garden rake as well!
Indeed it is. Personally, even though he is openly gay, I don't really like the guy. But he has my total respect over this.
Ireland doesn't seem to be doing as badly as some other countries as far as covid-19 is concerned. I think a good part of the reason for that is that our Prime Minister was a doctor in his former life. That's not to say we're having it easy, because we aren't.
Thanks, guys.
That''s number one of what is planned to be 52 new photos I hope to take, one a week for the next twelve months. Part of a camera club challenge. I've decided to try and do all black and white ones for the current challenge.
You may well think that, but I couldn't possibly comment, clo
Although a friend of a friend, who knows someone who knows someone else, tells me that it's just about impossible to source during the current lockdown.
(That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. )

Please remember that this is a politics free forum, should anyone wish to respond.
I hope so, Albert.
Biggest problem at the moment may be getting plants and various items of gardening equipment.
Yea, I'm feeling good, thanks!
Great to hear you are as well.
Not totally made my mind up yet, clo.
I'm thinking I may convert the upper story into some sort of living accommodation. Perhaps a holiday rental, or just somewhere for friends or family to stay when too many visit at once.
The lower story may eventually become a workshop/storage area.
(And is it wrong that I initially read the last word of you replay as "herb"...? )
Thanks, Gary!
The cottage may look bigger in that photo than it really is. A matter of perspective, I think, as I was stood much closer to it than the house behind, making it look almost as tall as the house itself. In reality it's probably only about 2/3 the height of the main house.
Before I go, I thought some of you might like to see a photo that I took two days ago (thanks to Trusty Nikon) of the back of the new old house, showing the cottage in the garden, and taken from the upper (larger) garden...
I got momentarily excited earlier when I looked in the mirror...
I thought the colour was coming back into my hair...
Then I washed it in the shower and it was white again.
Must of been all the smoke and ash from the bonfire...
Well, guys. I reek of bonfire smoke. So I'm going to have a shower. And then I shall throw all my work clothes from the past couple of days in the washing machine to get the smell out of them as well. Maybe chat you in a while...
The leaves of rhubarb contain very large amounts of oxalic acid, which is toxic (causing kidney failure) to humans. Apparently in Britain, during World War 1, there were a number of fatalities caused by people boiling and eating rhubarb leaves as a substitute for cabbage...
