  1. Happy Friday, all! Weather still unseasonably cool, but I did manage to get my seed potatoes planted yesterday. Off to meet up with my social bubble for the usual Friday takeaway lunch. Cod willing, I'm hoping that in the not to distant future the restaurants will be open again for sit down dining.
  2. Sweet dreams, Albert.
  3. Sorry to hear that news, my friend. The good news seems to be that the nodule has been detected early. I'm reading that the vast majority of nodules of no more than 1cm in diameter are treated successfully. I understand you not looking forward to the operation, but the alternative doesn't really bear consideration. Know that I am sending healing thoughts your way. And I hope Steve is not taking the news too badly.
  4. Greetings, young fella!
  5. It add character I remember back 30 years or so, when my hair was still mostly dark brown with just a few patches of grey, someone commenting on the distinguished grey streaks in my hair.
  6. I first started noticing a few grey hairs when I was in my mid teens. I was actually quiet pleased when I spotted them. My father had a full head of grey hair, whereas the men on my mother's side tended to go bald by the time they were 25.
  7. I almost wish I still had some grey. My hair is just white now.
  8. Hairdressers in Ireland will reopen (by appointment only) this coming Monday, 10th May. I'm certainly looking forward to that!
  9. That was my immediate thought, as well.
  10. You have every right to be worried, my friend. But fingers crossed that, whatever it is, it's not as bad as it may sound. ❤️
  11. For Albert...
  12. Will do indeed, Albert. Anything you wanna share with us in advance?
  13. No. You're not. But, as @dughlas says, I'm sure we'll get used to them.
  14. No. You're not.
  15. Yea, Val's posting in LPW. And I'm just happy that Gary popped in last Thursday to at least say hello. I'm more worried about another member of GA that I'm doing some editing for. His last contact was by email on 4th April when he sent me 3 more chapters. I emailed the edit of the last of those on Tuesday of last week, and still haven't heard a reply, even though I suggested he send the remaining few chapters. He is usually active on GA, but hasn't actually logged in since 1st April...
  16. Greetings, bro. Not so much as me lurking as being busy outside in the garden.
  17. Greetings, young fella.
  18. Good night, friends.
  19. The "Sierra de Purial" mountain chain, near the eastern tip of Cuba, in the south of the province of Guantanamo The Sierra de Purial Mountains at one stage separated the city of Baracoa, the first place that Christopher Columbus landed on his first trip to the Americas, from the rest of Cuba. Before the Cuban Revolution the only access was by sea, but in the 1960s a 120 km long road from Guantanamo City, named "La Farola", was built through the mountains. This was one of the showcases of the Cuban revolution. The road had been planned by the overthrown Batista government, but never built. The highest point of the road is at over 600 meters above sea level, and it passes over 11 bridges. The Sierra de Purial mountain chain is 74.7 km long, and reaches an elevation of up to 901 metres above sea level. I took this photograph during a visit to Cuba in November 2016.
  20. I can't think why.
  21. For the day that's in it (as we tend to say here in Ireland)...
  22. Wet! Otherwise good, thanks for asking. How's Albertsville?
  23. Greetings, young Albert!
  24. Another rainy day here in the northwest of Ireland.
