of course you were!! @Marty great suggestion. i can see readers crossing their fingers for their fav character and the next chapter... i like it. Not that it's a contest, but I think I may have been (after @Myr) the first to use it last night, when I wished one of the members of CoTT2 best wishes for a somewhat invasive surgical procedure he is undergoing today. I think it's a great addition to the list of reactions.

Also interesting that in this chapter we finally get an insight into Aleks, as I had assumed from the previous chapters that the story was only going to be told from Maks' point of view.

Okay... now I'm just getting more and more confused. But that probably means the author is doing a good job.

I'm finding myself getting drawn into this tale, so well done, @Mercury Eff! I have a suspicion that Aleks is probably not the bad boy that we are being led to believe he ise (or at least that Maks suspects him to be). I'm curious about the telephone call he made from Maks' apartment the first night, and thought we might find out more in this chapter as to what Aleks is actually involved in. Because I suspect the only thing Edwina really likes about him is the fact that his family obviously has money. I further suspect that the only person Ewelina loves is herself. We'll see if I am right on that (and very often I am wrong when reading characters early on in a story).

Tell them you want a sharp needle not one of the old bent rusty ones 'cause you have to put up with a bunch of old bent rusty online friends and that's enough. Rusty and crusty!
