  1. Yup! Definitely a great bad example. (Perhaps you should be looking at synonyms of great, rather than of good...)
  2. Don't encourage her, bro...
  3. From the best of the worst.
  4. There's good examples, and there's bad examples. And I know which one ma fée diabolique belongs to!
  5. Slave driver!
  6. Greetings, young Albert!
  7. And you, bro!
  8. Another one of Yuri Gagarin's reported comments after his space flight: Anecdote in New Age Journal, Vol. 7 (1990), p. 176: When Yuri Gagarin, the first man who went into space, returned to Earth, there was a huge reception in his honor. As his close friend and cosmonaut colleague Alexei Leonov tells it, then premier Nikita Khrushchev cornered Gagarin. "So tell me, Yuri," he asked, "did you see God up there?" After a moment's pause, Gagarin answered "Yes sir, I did." Khrushchev frowned. "Don't tell any one," he said. A few minutes later the head of the Russian Orthodox Church took Gagarin aside. "So tell me, my child," he asked Gagarin, "did you see God up there?'" Gagarin hesitated and replied "No sir, I did not." "Don't tell anyone." Of course, if he'd really expected to see the Almighty Cod, perhaps he should have been in a submarine instead of a spaceship...
  9. Sixty years ago today, on Wednesday, 12 April 1961, the Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space.
  10. *Checks Diary* Oh yeah ... It is, isn't it? Happy Monday, all!
  11. After midnight here... Good night, all!
  12. But you just have! (Not that I have the foggiest idea what you might be trying to imply. )
  13. Always good to have someone else to blame for one's stupidity, isn't it?
  14. Apart from the fact that I love gardening, and it was the huge garden that persuaded me to buy this house, the garden has been my only real way of staying sane during this lockdown.
  15. I knew you did.
  16. I finished turning the soil in the pea and bean area of the garden. All the weeds that had sprung up over the winter are now buried. For dinner, I had home-cooked chunky chips (fries) from my own potatoes, and a cheese and mushroom omelette. It was yummy and I feel well satisfied!
  17. Too late, young Albert. Dugh beat you to it. Actually he beat me with it. (With the spaghetti, that is.)
  18. I'm thinking of heading over to LPW, and let them all know what you are saying about them here in CoTT...
  19. What? In Picardy??? Hmmm... might be worth visiting once the lockdown ends...
  20. Wow! I hope you at least let it cool down a bit first.
  21. Maybe... But it likely be even more fun it it were a trusted other doing it to me.
  22. But that's our reason for living, isn't it?
  23. Sorry, Albert. I think it's probably time for me to indulge in a bit of...
  24. Happy Sunday to you, as well, bro! Not that I have a television, but I find myself reading or listening to the news much less nowadays. Although the main reason for that is that it seems to just concentrate on endless depressing and scare-mongering stories about the pandemic. And I have taken to listening to music on the radio more these days instead of 'talk shows'. (Although I do like drama and non-pandemic-related documentaries.)
