  1. Reckon you made the right decision, bro. ❤️
  2. Okay... Time for week 44 of my attempt to take and upload a new monochrome photograph every week for 52 weeks... I've gone for something a little different this time. It's one of the door hinges from the right hand one of the two stone cottages in my lower garden...
  3. They're actually wallpaper strippers, Drew. I had them in my bedroom a few months back.
  4. Greetings, young Drew! And I will be 150. So we can all have a joint 567th birthday party!
  5. That's if any of you are still alive in 2097. Could end up just myself and young @Drew Espinosa at the garden party. [EDIT] Oh, and my two young male strippers, of course!
  6. Maybe the garden will be cleared by then and we can have a party I wonder if it will be... Hmmmm.... To tell you the Cod's honest truth....
  7. Cheeky young scallywag! Although, to be perfectly honest with you, I very seldom drink any alcohol these days. Haven't really done for the past twenty years or more. When my GP advised me to cut down on my alcohol intake around 9 years ago, after my type 2 diabetes diagnosis, I just laughed and said something along the lines of "That means I'd finish up with a negative blood alcohol level."
  8. You might not like this piece of news, @clochette... Apparently there's a new storm heading from the Atlantic towards Western Europe - Storm Justine... Extract: Residents in the northern fringe of precipitation in the United Kingdom and France may see some wet snowflakes mixing with rain at times. In addition to rain and snow, Storm Justine is forecast to bring gusty winds to western Europe as it sinks into France. "Wind gusts of 50-60 mph (80-97 km/h) will occur across southwestern France, northeastern Spain and the northern coast of Spain," Richards stated. "Along the eastern half of the northern coast of Spain into far southwestern France wind gusts of 60-70 mph (97-113 km/h) will be possible." Source: https://www.accuweather.com/en/winter-weather/storm-justine-racing-toward-western-europe/890236 And the Irish Met Office have issued this warning: Weather Advisory for Ireland Very unsettled weather this weekend with wet and windy conditions bringing a risk of localised flooding. Cold also, with wintry falls of snow and icy conditions. Valid: 22:00 Friday 29/01/2021 to 23:59 Sunday 31/01/2021 Issued: 14:00 Friday 29/01/2021 Looks like my outside work might be put on hold for a few days...
  9. Well, that's a common view in the British Isles. But I think there's a common view abroad of the Irish that we do very little else than get totally drunk on Guinness just about every day. And the English just like to portray us as stupid. But I suspect that's just because our sense of humour is just too deep and intelligent for them...
  10. That's what I was talking about when I commented that the French can be a bit volatile...
  11. Sounds more than just a wee bit lax, to me. I know the French can be a bit volatile at times. At the risk of straying into politics, is the government worried about street demonstrations if they bring in too many restrictions. Like what's happened in parts of The Netherlands?
  12. Page 2097... I'll be 150 years old in 2097. Gonna have me a blast!
  13. I'm sure that, in Gary's case, he didn't get in the least bit upset.
  14. Anyway, what's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet - as Shakespeare wrote. And John Wayne was baptised "Marion Robert Morrison." And what was it Johnny Cash said about names...? Oh, yeah!
  15. A common typo. Pity I didn't spot it myself this time. It would have been fun calling him Carry in my reply. I've even made the same mistake myself more than once when typing my name.
  16. it’s a good thing Definitely! She might have had to learn to type with her toes, if they had...
  17. No, it was raining, unfortunately.
  18. You're making me dizzy here! (Just hope I don't fall of this ladder...)
  19. Do you mean snowshoes?
  20. Oh. I bet you can't wait! ❤️
  21. But aren't you officially only allowed to exercise within a limited distance from your home? We are, here in Ireland. 5km (fractionally over 3 miles)
  22. Okay, folks... I'm away into the garden, now. I'll probably pop back in for a snack in an hour or so; and will check back in here to see if I've missed anything important. Edit: Today's the day for your son to move back in, Gary?
  23. Greetings, Val!
  24. Ski lifts?
