Hey, thanks for commenting. Kyle did stay, yes. Someone else asked above, so I'm gonna copy my response here. 🙂 Adam was the youngest brother, and Kyle was the next youngest. He and Adam had a connection the others didn't really share, and Kyle stayed to the end to honor him. As for being less rough... well, Kyle did what his other brothers told him to do. But, he might decide to try another way now that doing so went so wrong with Jason.

Thanks for writing, Jaybee. That's the goal - to move on when things like this happen. Let's find out what that looks like for these folks.

Thanks for commenting, Thorn. Jason was trapped by circumstance and his own messed up reaction to it. He was also terrified of Wade. He knew Wade would not be happy about what happened to their brother, and he set out to try and evade blame for what occurred. You're right about Wren and Caleb. It's time to move on. 🙂

Thanks, Geemeedee. People are lost all the time. When it can be prevented, when it didn't have to happen... yeah, that's hard. Kyle stayed. Adam was the youngest brother, and Kyle was the next youngest. He and Adam had a connection the others didn't really share, and Kyle stayed to the end to honor him.

Thanks, Chris. Jason didn't have much choice but to come clean. What's that say about Wade, when Jason has more fear of him than he does of going to prison?

Thank you, Tony. Wade is not a nice guy. But he has a certain sense of honor, and a need to set right what he feels is at least partially his fault. Being shown a little forgiveness by Wren truly surprised him. He didn't expect it. We'll have to see what happens there.

Thanks, rick. It's good to know you're enjoying the story. Caleb is definitely a firecracker! There's more to come.

You're channeling something, but it sure isn't rural Appalachia. 😛

Thanks for commenting. And we're not done. 😉
  10. 'How?' Jason thought as Sheriff Keen grabbed him by the back of his shirt. Casey yanked him aside as Wren lunged. 'How did this go so wrong?' He felt the sensation of air as his nephew's knuckle-strike missed his throat by a fraction of an inch. The blow seemed designed to crush his windpipe, and in all likelihood, it would have if not for the Sheriff's quick reactions. "No!" Wren yelled when Caleb tackled him. "No!" The two young men tumbled to the ground, but Caleb held on. Wren raged and
  11. I love that comic, @Thorn Wilde. 🙂 I hope everybody is having a great day. I finished the last bits of my chapter on my lunch... and I'll probably have it posted up tomorrow. Woot!

Hi Jeffrey! Glad you enjoyed Fleeting Eternity, and the two new-to-you chapters of Bluegrass. That silence is definitely about to end. Keep on reading... it's about to get LOUD.

Thanks, Jeffrey. I'm glad you enjoyed coming "back home" with the boys. 🙂
  15. You're bound and determined to excise "that word" like a wormy apple, aren't you? 🙂
  16. I'm at the point where I'm 1/2 through my third cup of nice, strong coffee... and it's almost 1PM, and I'm so wired I can't do anything but think about how hard sleeping tonight is gonna be. I'm finishing this cup though. Dumping good coffee, now that's a sin.
  17. I just read this today, and I feel, as a guy who writes a hell of a lot of romance I really should have seen this before now. "If Love Could Have Saved You, You Would Have Lived Forever." Hello DiC. I hope you're all well.

Indeed. I'm glad you liked this chapter - thank you for commenting, Parker. We'll have to see how much damage this does to that house of cards in the end.

Thanks for the additional info on walnut. I always knew it was tenacious stuff - once it got on an item of clothing, it was there forever. The scent is similar. A big pile of the young hulls of black walnuts will retain their odor for a very long while.

Always happy to twist when I am expected to go straight (go straight... haha!).

  24. Best of luck to your brother, rick.
