The country is definitely a different place than the big city, people don't get bent out of shape about much and appreciate tremendously a gift that is given from the heart. Andy is elated as any teenager would be with such a magnificent gift and I'm sure his parents will be just as thrilled for him. I thought it was very responsible of Alan to suggest Cody drive behind him on the first ride home - just shows how much they care about Andy. Hell, a motorbike takes time to get used to and even though Andy was all hands on deck with just one drive down the driveway, riding on the road with traffic is a completely different ball game. Gotta say though, waking up to coffee wafting right under your nose, definitely gonna have to experience that sometime soon! lol lol

An ATV AND a Motorbike .... "Golly jee Auntie Mame, long pants!" LOL!!!! Andy is definitely never leaving their home now - especially with Cody home AND the toys to play with. So much fun reading this!

Alan is Mr Bradley but Cody is just Cody! LOL!!!! LOL!!! I feel some ATVs in the future for Jeff and Andy since Alan is a proactive thinker and may need something in the middle of winter ... or just wants the guys to be able to come visit when they want. Such a peaceful setting unfolding before our eyes. ❤️

Chapter 7: Aidan and Luis are in love. A visit from the past.
Christopher commented on vanalas's story chapter in Chapter 7: Aidan and Luis are in love. A visit from the past.
Looks like somebody better start practicing powers and skip the dance lessons. LOL!!! -
Such a fun story to read and experience. So enjoy great writers that write visually where you're first hand experiencing and visualizing the events taking place as if you're a part of them. Fantastic!

So refreshing - one can just feel the cool breeze of the Clarion River. Alan's definitely found a keeper and Cody is already showing his inward drive. Just wondering what the future path will be in way of enterprise - so many options in this town. Totally loved this place until I heard there was no wine store ... WTH! 😳😂😂😂

Nothing like seeing a new home for the first time - from blueprints to reality. I'm sure there was some trepidation hoping everything from the blueprints translated well to the actual build. I remember the last home I had built, having nightmares that it was going to turn out looking like a circus show but alas, it was beautiful and peaceful just as this home on the hill is. Good energy abounds!

Holy Crap! I need to find a Cody! LOL!!! LOL!!! Some say they're moving too fast but * year long term relationship began with a blind date on Friday and moved in on Monday. Can't wait to see the happiness and open mindedness they bring to each others lives. Giddy UP! LOL!!!

Nothing better than building a new home. So enjoy this story as it intertwines the business aspect of earning and the longterm aspect of building a home starting afresh and new. It's like reading a spring rain right before the flowers blossom. LOL!!!

Hands down, one of my most favorite authors on GayAuthors - if not my MOST FAVORITE!!! Love every minute of your writing and what Box of Crackers shared with the reader was priceless. Thank you once again!

A story full of love, acceptance, warmth, and compassion. Who would've thought a Box of Crackers would lead to such fulfillment ... for everyone! A MUST READ for everyone!

Awe, thanks for the explanation, that makes a LOT more sense now. When I was reading it, I guess I was so startled I didn't leave it in context. LOL!!! LOL!!!

Families are despicable at time and Pete's birthers and genetic male acquaintance are hideous. It would seem he and his sister are the only two that came out with a brain and a heart - Evie is such a wonderful person. The thing that surprised me in this chapter was the comment “Look guys were men, we don’t cry.” I guess being raised in such a backwards family is one explanation but having been gone so long, one would think that mentality would've passed. Tears of happiness and sadness are important in all genders. Just took me off path for a second, especially from someone so open, caring, and warm-hearted.

Definitely a story worth investing in! If one thinks girl drama is crazy, you haven't seen anything yet in comparison to gay boy drama - fun at times and frustrating as hell at others. Just when you think Coop was going to jump off the cliff into a solid relationship, he jumps into or on somebody else's crevice or pogo stick. Have to say, some pretty neat guys he hooked up with but gawd forbid if anything was his fault. Were we really like that as Frosh? Yep, and so much more!!! LOL!!!! LOL!!!! One closing comment, I was expecting a hookup with Sebas though! LOL!!! LOL!!!!

Benny and the Jets ... every man's got a name ... totally laughed out loud reading that one! 🤣

WOW!!!! One's gotta luv how folks in Texas take care of justice - efficiently. On one hand you have a person of great love and compassion opening his heart and home too many all the while creating a family. On the other hand you have an absolute scum, sucking everything he can out of the world and everyone around him. One blossoms like a spring flower full of beauty and the other is squashed like a cockroach. Always try to give more back to the world than it gives you❣️

Some say you can't choose your family but Bobby proved them wrong. Through Pete's enormous heart, he's afforded a little boy a family, which is growing by the minute, that loves him and will ensure he has every opportunity in the world to develop into the great young man he is meant to be. So heartwarming to see the positive things that come when someone does the right thing. I can't imagine anyone leaving Bobby out in the cold anymore than we'd leave our four-legged family members out in the cold. I'm still chuckling inside at the little cupids master plan ... he wants a real family, with two loving parents, and by gawd he's going to make it happen. I can only imagine how red Jimmy's face got after Bobby whispered in his ear .... but what exactly did he say to him? One may never know but I'm sure it had something to do with being dad also. ❤️❤️❤️

What deadbeat parents! Andy sounds just like my nephew, so responsible at such a young age. From the time he could walk and talk, he and I would go shopping for holiday gifts and just because fun presents. Every time I'd suggest something he'd say "oh no Uncle Chris, that's too expensive." When Andy and Uncle Scott were shopping, it reminded me of our shopping sprees - funny, crazy, responsible, heart warming, and, most of all, full of love and fun. And yes, if his parents ever kicked him out because he happened to be gay - which they would NEVER do - I'd kick their asses back to the dark ages and he'd come to live with me faster than the FLASH could get him to me! This is definitely a story full of life lessons - LOVE IT!!!

The sweetest story of love ever! If Izzy is going to be a part of the family, and she's black and brown, can she be an Australian Shepherd? Affectionate, Intelligent, and protective. I think of my nephews Australian Shepherd (Lady) and she is so loyal to him, bounces around everywhere, and is just so full of energy. Truly, they have a bond and love for each other that is just refreshing when you see them together. Izzy reminded me of Lady as soon as you described her actions ... and yes, she got spayed quickly after getting her as well.

So many emotions from a very short chapter. While I admire Uncle Scott and his bond regarding family, I despise his good for nothing sister and her husband Ed. How on earth could anyone turn a 14 year old out to fend for themself? No wonder there's such a high suicide rate in that age population - it's already a difficult time without adding deadbeat parents to it. Kick their asses Uncle Scott!!!

Another amazing story CLJ! A true example of the people making a difference in one persons life that multiple so many times forward. Such a rewarding, validating, and encouraging mindset to read. THANK YOU and I look forward to many future stories emphasizing this game mentality - LOVE!

Holy smithereens CLJ, I can't believe Home Away From Home has come to an end. Truly, I always looked forward to getting home from work, sitting down with the computer, and reading a chapter or catching up on a few. You said it was written from the heart and truly, your heart showed through like the warmth and glow of an evening fire. I honestly just tried to think of a few words that would describe what I enjoyed most about this story and a plethora came to mind. The one that stuck with me the most though was Love! Thank you for sharing an unreproachable example of love! ❤️

Not gonna lie, I cried during the last 2 chapters when reading about Mac (Douglas). I love the reversal of roles, like seen in the movie Simon, where the father is more accepting of his gay son than the mother is. The world definitely needs more expressions of paternal love for their gay sons! Then we have Al, how can one not love than man?!?!? "I knew who would get the other hut." OMG, get out the BOUNTY, I was bawling too!!!! Something fishy in Denmark (Germany) though, can't wait to see what is going on and why! The mental pictures of the compound though are amazing and the love that everyone has is so at the heart of the family. Some say you can't choose your family ... the family surrounding Puppy and Carlo have definitely chosen them. Such a compliment and honor to be called 'home away from home' and the colonel seems to be being accepted as one of the family by everyone - including the base guys - the more he's there ... where rank and seniority are left at the door and family abounds beyond the gates. I hope to see that truly evolve because with family, we're all the same and love supersedes everything. OUTSTANDING!

Crowley, Crowley, Crowley, school is beginning again around the country and I wonder what antics and antidotes you'll be getting up to this year. Enquiring minds want to know ... at least this one does PETE, where are you???

Holy Baloo Batman, a trip to Disney! 🥰 I gotta say though, that 17 hour flight definitely was a LOT shorter in your story than in real life ... I'm taking your version next time I have to do it! LOL!!! What a wonderful life of love having your family and those you love around to celebrate life with. Like was referenced, just seems like yesterday when Carlo and Anthony first laid eyes on each other - love and happiness shared with so many. It's so true that what's inside radiates outward. So enjoy reading every chapter!
