Let’s start with the best news; pups are being physically and mentally cured at an astonishing rate with no lasting ill effects to them or Asa. It was especially heartwarming to hear about Cameron and Johnny’s recoveries. Caleb and his conversation with Vann also felt like really good news. Baby steps, for sure, but the interaction was extremely positive. Vann is empathetic and wise beyond his years, which will help ease future disclosures. The only good news about the stomach dropping cliffy is that Caleb had a premonition something was amiss back in Texas. Caleb is more emotionally centered and the fact he can feel the pack is important, even if he’s not yet at the point to fully understand what that means. We’ve all been worried about Corbin and his connection to the twins; it looks like Huntington has stepped up his game. I’m curious who all will go to Texas. Maybe there will be some good news when they arrive; hopefully Corbin is Ok.

The gift of the reposting of this chapter after getting the last chapter sorted out really spotlights just how distraught Jubal is. I said before that each interaction, whether with man, animal or object clearly shows Jubal’s distress. He ignores his own tiredness and pain while he focuses on what must get done. And with everything he does, Jubal’s mind is on Lucas and getting back to him. Jubal imagines his future with Lucas. He scrubs the blood off the floor so Lucas won’t be reminded, and he carefully sets out oats in the corral for the horses. There is a hopeful positivity in these acts. Even during this second read through I found myself reading faster as if it could hurry Jubal along so he could return to Lucas’ side. I know now that we won’t have any quick answers to Lucas’ fate. I guess just like Jubal we will have to wait.

Chapter 13 If He Ever Does
84Mags commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 13 If He Ever Does
While I think we all knew the direness of the situation, something about Reid going ‘sickly looking’ when he first saw Lucas hit hard. Then to realize what little Doc Vance had at his disposal back then to medically assess and help Lucas really brought everything into perspective. Jubal saved Lucas’ life but the outcome isn’t guaranteed; he gave Lucas a fighting chance. Doc Vance is well thought of by Reid and obviously good at his job. Lucas is in good hands. Jubal is fighting exhaustion, shock and his own injuries but his sole concern is Lucas. Interesting that Reid not only acknowledges this, but makes it pretty clear he supports their close friendship and wants to be a help to Jubal while they both await Lucas’ fate. All things considered I hope you don’t worry over the chapter mix up and reposting. As others have commented, this chapter is an important part of the story and provides much needed information. While it’s too bad the site isn’t able to hold and then repost all of the comments for the next chapter, it is understandable. What is much more important to all of us is that you take the time you need to grieve, heal and hopefully begin to feel physically better. All of that can be a very long process. We are with you along the way.- 54 comments

Even with the cloud of evil that Huntington projects as the backdrop for this chapter, so much good is happening. Curing Theo was incredibly emotional. Having Enya there to be a soothing influence felt right. All of the pups will need intense emotional support in the coming years. I could see her gift of sensing lies as an important part of their healing. All the positive changes in Caleb are cause for celebration as he humbly acknowledges the pack’s acceptance and gratitude. Coming back home to Montana seems to be the final healing nudge. It is fitting that Caleb will make a new life in Texas with Asa once all the pups are cured and Huntington’s forces decimated. They aren’t just a fated, mated pair, they are a team and draw strength from each other. That will be needed for the coming battles.

Frank and Rory were the volunteers who told Martina about the alleged fight between Micco and Sam. They also alluded to Martina that Michael had episodes of forgetfulness/memory loss. Now Frank and his rich ‘date’ have been caught in the refuge after hours smelling of weed. They’d been there for some time. If Frank could be conscience of a dropped book and take time to pick it up, why would he forget his key in the lock? Is there a link between drugs, the volunteers and an outsider who needs access? Micco had the same, yet intensified, feeling of energy he previously had. Since he seems to only directly link with animals (other than Chase feeling him), I am wondering if the volunteers are allowing someone to experiment with illicit drugs on the animals. That could explain Whisper’s unusual behavior. This chapter felt just as intense as the coming hurricane and the cliffhanger more so. One would think that after the experience at Sam’s house Micco would know better than to check into the noise on his own.

Wow. That was flawless. Guardians who carry a piece of Kage within them. Just wow. I miss Kage. I still really do. But I am at peace with his life and, now, with his death.

I am counting on it! My original comment didn’t load correctly (heavy winds in the Midwest over last few days) so I was editing it as you were responding. I am crossing my fingers our two soon to be mated pairs further align with Caleb and Asa to defeat Huntington.

Yes to all of this! I think the Austin, Ashton, Elijah, Tyler, Asa, and Caleb will all be joining together as a unit to not only heal the rest of the pups but to defeat Huntington and all of the evildoers. I know we have to wait until matings are complete and Rosalie gives her thoughts, but I think the signs are there.

It worked; the twins are cured! I have googled recipes for celebration Lemon Meringue Cheesecake because that is a need I didn’t know I wanted! Considering all that Ashton and Austin have been through, they are adjusting to their adult bodies and adapting to their new reality extremely well. Asa and Caleb working with Elijah and Tyler to figure out the twins needed to be cured jointly is encouraging. They will work well as a group to figure out any problems that arise while restoring the other pups. I also think the six will be together, as a unit, to help defeat Huntington. I know we have to wait for more on Caleb and Vann’s relationship, but at least the contact and mutual adoration is a good sign.

Oh, no no no. No Sven. It’s Max and Reid. #ReMax. They are getting ready to be stranded on an island together. Well, ok, I made that part up. But they will be sharing a room. Together. On an island. That has fruity drinks. And swaying palm trees. And magical sunsets.

I started this wonderful tale crying over Dayna’s death and what that meant for Kyan and the kids, and have ended this fantastic story smiling through tears over all the goodness that has come to Kyan, Perry, the kids and family. Perry and Kyan have a life made of love, commitment, support, affection, trust, and respect to name but a few. They are honoring and remembering Dayna. They are equally parenting. Kyan and Perry are having fun! Even Max and Reid look to be moving towards some kind of island fling thing. And to get a glimpse with Loren and Jay! I can’t be the only one who squealed, right?! Of course Kyan’s bedding is a winner but to bring in Loren? Genius! In our real life, imperfect world you gave us a perfect ending, complete with Gracie ‘stealing’ the surprise marriage proposal. What more could we ask for?

Interestingly, Burke has found / saved Micco twice. At the tower he was the one who Micco told some of his most private thoughts to. I’m not sure what to make of all of that, but with the texts I am certain someone is using psychological warfare against Micco. He didn’t kill Sam, he just didn’t. However, someone wants Micco to believe that he has serious memory problems and that he did do it. I wish Micco would show Chase the texts. He’s not thinking clearly. If Micco killed Sam and someone witnessed it, why wouldn’t they tell the investigators? Why push Micco to turn himself in? It’s psychological warfare. They are trying to destroy Micco.

Every part of this seemed to be just the right amount of adrenaline rush combined with feel good, didn’t know you needed it until it happened, situations. Caleb is home and he is accepted. He’s taking responsibility for his wrongs and not blaming the poison or others. He is making amends and, importantly, he is reconnected to his wolf. He is an alpha and is acting like one. They have a well thought out plan to cure the pups and understand that is the first step in toppling Huntington and defeating evil. I am so happy to have everyone together in Montana! Rosalie and Silas not only understand lore, they are the present link between past and future. Interestingly, Caleb and Asa have white wolves. The twins, who haven’t yet mated but will once they are cured, have matching yet opposite eyes. So then there will be another six wolves…

““SEBASTIAN!” Caleb’s Alpha voice was strong and clear. Seven heads swung to face him. The man now stood, his hands on his hips, looking every bit the Alpha that he was. Sebastian’s wolf gave a chuff of approval.” Oh. Dear. Lord. Is it just me or is it a bit hot in here? Surely I wasn’t the only one who got tingles and wondered if they, too, had an inner wolf?!

One of the benefits of an online community is sharing our thoughts and expressing our feelings, as well as discussing experiences. While we cannot take away that feeling of being alone now that Sky is gone, we can help you feel less alone. I wish you peace in your memories and am sending mental hugs. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who cried along with you tonight.

Thank you for trusting us with the news of your devastating loss. I am truly sorry about Sky. My son’s best friend is an equestrian. She has a favorite tee shirt that’s got a quote about the winds of heaven blowing between a horse’s ears. I imagine that’s true. I was both blindsided and shocked that Prescott returned. And he shot Lucas! Jubal’s calmness and quick thinking while facing the dire situation certainly saved both of their lives. My hope is that they catch up with Reid along the way to Bearpaw. Lucas could use immediate assistance and Jubal has to drive the wagon. I notice and appreciate how you lace God throughout your stories. The ending prayer tempered Prescott’s unwelcome evilness.

I was trying to not be too obvious in my earlier comment, but I literally sat up straight when Caleb and Asa both became white wolves. In Spirit Wolves the painting has a blond pair of wolves along with the other Sentinels. They are the Psi pair and were part of the Sentinels defeating the Fae. Guess we will have to wait to see how it plays out for what is sure to be an epic battle with Huntington and his forces.

Asa and Caleb’s mating could not have been more perfect. Their joining was passionate, romantic, sensual, and magnificently racy! They complement and are ideal for each other. Once cooled down after that hotter than fire mating, there are a few important clues not to be missed. Asa turned into a wolf! Caleb gained light shifter powers! Asa and Caleb’s wolves look alike. They. Look. Alike. They don’t mirror each other like the Sentinels’ wolves. They aren’t exact opposites. They look alike. And they are pure white. That all must mean something more than the obvious help to the pups. Then there is Corbin. He didn’t just mosey on over for the food. Meeting Asa seems important. I think he will be heading to Montana to help. We cannot forget that Huntington is still out there and pups remain in danger. Corbin is a good man. He will be involved somehow in the solution.

Actually, I began to suspect Martina after your well thought out past comments and theories. Don’t give up on that idea yet. And, your thoughts about Burke are spot on. I wonder about him, too.

It’s hard to guess who the possible culprit is, especially knowing Sam owed some nefarious individuals. This chapter made me think about the wave of energy that Michael felt in chapter 4 of anger, hate and hunger. It still sounds to me like an addict needing a fix, even if Michael may not be able to detect human emotions the way he does with animals. If Sam was dealing in an attempt to stay ahead of debts, he was playing a dangerous game and lost. I wonder who at the refuge might have known Sam was broke.

Part Two. Chapter Eleven.
84Mags commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Part Two. Chapter Eleven.
Every part of this exceptional chapter feels like moving forward. Jed working with Kyan is blinding level smile inducing. Kyan has a true chance at making his bedding an entrepreneur's reality. Jed has slid in for the dad win. He has inserted himself as only a father-who-cares can and will be part of the solution to Kyan accepting emotionally available parents, and all that entails. Even if you are one yourself, it is another matter entirely to accept that level of attachment. Jed and Trudy give freely of themselves, parent naturally, and love unconditionally. The impromptu pizza dinner with Jessica cemented the positive family feelings. This family works well together. I especially loved the intimate conversation between Kyan and Perry. Their "I want"(s) sounded a lot like "I vow.” Every declaration added up to solidly grounded beginnings for a long term, forever after, not very vanilla, relationship. How they handled sweet Ava spoke of their commitment not just to each other but to the children's wellbeing. The interaction with Ava and her siblings was handled brilliantly. I have no doubt they will open their arms to Perry. Their hearts are already his. I swore I wouldn't comment on Max, so let's make this about Reid... who I thought I liked in Hawaii, then wasn't so sure about after the events of last chapter, but now really like him even more. He is a good guy; a stand-up kind of good guy that doesn't have a bad word to say about Max, I noticed. There is obviously a back story that even Perry couldn't charm out of Reid, so it seems we will be waiting for their book.- 163 comments

I’m going with the ‘or opinions change, sometimes.’ I think you are now secretly Team Caleb. 😎#Calsa for the win. And… I will just return to my spot in the Korner.

First of all, congrats on top of the page 🥇 I am really looking forward to Ben and Asa meeting. That is an interesting idea of Asa getting a wolf! I wonder about Asa being a Guardian or Sentinel. However, I am most excited to hear more from Kage, and I believe through Asa that we will.
