  1. Patch1! I swear...if you ever make my cry like this again, I'm siccing my husband on you. I am so happy that you were right there at the meeting! When I was writing this chapter, I felt so much pressure to make this right. To make it perfect. I need to thank @Philippe for sending me a message shortly after the chapter was published to make some key detail changes to make it even better. I've envisioned this project back in June, started it in August, and this chapter has been on my mind ever since. With it done, more and more ideas are flying through my head. I just made a status post about this, but I am working on a side chapter to have published next. Just to give our two heroes a little breather. The Goddess of Destiny, Aliz, sure knows that Vincent needs one. Patch, I always appreciate your comments, as well as all of the folks who have been commenting since I started this. Buz, centexhairysub, mikedup, Philippe. You've been on this story for so long, and I can not thank you all enough.
  2. I feel their stares. They’re like daggers! Just breathe, Vin. You can do this. Inhaling deeply, Vincent kept his eyes closed. As the trickles of magical energy fell around him, he knew the cyclone had dissipated. Snapping his fingers, he formed a sight ward around his body. Taking his first step down the staircase, he heard a few whispers but could not tell what was said. Pacing himself, he snapped his fingers every so often to leave a trail of lavender clouds behind. He took center-
  3. I'm about to clock in for a shift, and words can't describe how I feel. Your feelings of anticipation have me excited to get this next chapter rolling! I can't wait to bring this scene to life for you! Thank you all!
  4. Yeah, figured today was going to be weird for him. Vincent watched Mason gawk his way. I haven’t looked in a mirror yet, but I imagine I’m something else. The mage raised an eyebrow. “Sorry about that, Vin. I guess I wasn’t ready to see you like this. It’s really different, especially not hearing your voice.” Rolling his discolored eyes, Vincent grabbed his phone and texted. It’s just for today, big guy. He pointed the screen at Mason. “I left my phone inside. I’ll get it in a min
  5. Oh, jeez! I just woke up, and look at all these comments! Just want to thank everyone for giving their input and expressing their anticipation. I have set a bar for the dance, I will not let y'all down. I'm going to try my best to limit how many comments I leave for my chapters, as I feel I'm writing A LOT of them. I'll do my best to get the next chapter out ASAP, but this one...or the next will have the dance. And that. Has. To. Be. PERFECT! Hope to have it done by Sunday, as I have Saturday night off, and that allows me to get in almost a whole chapter in.
  6. DRESS Don't repeat everything someone says VODKA
  7. Ingle and Poll escorted Vincent into the precinct. The mage's nerves were going crazy as he walked through the reception area. He passed Tina at the desk barely catching her meek smile. “It’s just this way, Vincent.” Going down the hallway before reaching Henry’s office, Poll opened the last door, and gestured for Vincent to enter. The sign on the wall read Interrogation. Stepping inside, he saw a small table, two chairs, and a mirror. One way window. Just like the crime shows. Thoug
  8. SPADE Spit past Aaron's deaf ear CREPT
  9. DANCE Don't abandon Nancy's crazy emu JIGGY
  10. Thank you, Patch1! Always a treat to see you comment. I'm off today/tonight, so plenty of work is being put in for Chapter 13! And I'm so happy that you think my storytelling is gr getting better!!! What a comment to receive as I get ready for bed! ❤️
  11. Oh, Vincent has lots to discover about his powers altogether. He is pretty adept in his abilities, but there's always more to learn. I agree with controlling his emotions in battle, but I think our little hero will manage just fine!
  12. Mwahahaha! So many conspiracies! I'm loving this! I also love how you described this as a spider's web! Some strands of the web are connected to the center, but others are just support.
  13. Love your comments, mikedup!
  14. Ha! Morrine loves to tease Mason every chance she gets. I imagine she'll call Tierney much worse than 'boy-toy.' (She called Mason a mangy mutt back in Ch. 7.). I brought Shaw in because...well, I left a hole in the story involving the merc who was arrested. Whoopsies! The merc was sent to be interrogated and I just called it a day with no intention of coming back. Happy little accidents! The next several chapters are going to be filled with so stinkin' much! Vincent has sort of dealt with his first mini-human hater, but the real one will come around eventually. Thanks for the comment, Buz!!!
  15. Thank you for the comment, sir! Morrine is low-key, my favorite character I have developed, and I wanted her to have a little boy-toy! I just hope Tierney can keep up with her!
  16. He was speechless. Vincent could not look away from the menacing fireballs. When the alpha’s eyes were green again, Vincent resumed breathing. Dirk and Kaplan’s applause snapped him out of his trance, and signaled for him to clap as well. I see what he meant now. He commanded the stage and captured my attention. “Ty, that was amazing!” Mason clapped. “I agree.” He whispered in Vincent’s ear, “Just think, you agreed to a challenge with him.” Any celebratory excitement vanished and the f
  17. Thank you so much! And other affinities...*shrugs shoulders* who knows?
  18. *gasp* You...underestimated me? I mean, I'm not surprised. I've been underestimated all my life, so it's pretty second nature by now. I needed a morally good character to represent the element that is commonly viewed as a destructive force to showcase its beauty, and Tierney fit the bill! Vincent's dance is coming soon, I promise! But a few more details need to be brought to light... Thank you for the kind words! I've said it in a few closing author remarks, but this has become a second job for me, and I have no intention of stopping. This is definitely going to be a 50+ chapter story.
  19. Dirk is one hell of an Enforcer, and he knows the job to the smallest detail. He could use some sensitivity training, but we will find he is very qualified for his job. We all can't wait for Vincent's dance! Just gotta wait a couple more chapters, bud. Thank you so much for commenting, Buz!
  20. Tierney needed that little extra oomf in regards to power...and I may have gone a bit overboard, but oh well! Vincent just needs to meditate and get that bracelet full!
  21. Always happy to hear praise from you, sir! I thought the colleges were nice for world building
  22. And another great comment from you Patch1! We are getting close to Vincent's dance...ARE YOU EXCITED?!?!
  23. After the crystal shower, the duo remained at the campground. Vincent couldn’t explain the sensation he was feeling. This place is different, at least compared to everywhere else I’ve meditated. Checking the bracelet, he was impressed with the progress. One white bead in fifteen minutes! At this rate, I could have it full by Saturday. He glanced at Mason. The lycan was staring at him from the stage’s edge. “When were you wanting to head back, big guy?” “Whenever you want. I got nowhere
  24. Oooooo!!!! I'm the author and this comment gave me the willies about how the story is progressing!
  25. Sorry Buz! The dance will happen soon, that can be promised (Think one or two more chapters). I wanted the location to be spot on. Outdoors, large enough for the pack, and somewhere secluded. Always happy to publish a great chapter. P.S. to your P.S.: Lady Elaine is an Alpha's mate. I figured she deserved a fitting title, and the name rang loud in my head. It's always good to see your comments, Patch1! I wanted to bring in the Gage family, since Caleb is going to be an integral part of the story. More is on the way.
