Yep, that's a representative in a nutshell. It's not very well described, but it's the terms definition. In Thompson Balo's position, his job is to recruit, and now it's Jared's. To represent a company in this world is a big forkin' deal.

Always pleased to hear someone enjoying a story! I'll have to think about what kind of expansion I want to do for this universe. I hope to explore the races I created! The Payots seem like fun, and I think I can come up with something.

I have such a long list! Death in the Shadows, a Frosty the Snowman origin story, a Cernunnos continuation, more Corporate Galactic, my newest thought bubble about a guy getting a mail-order husband (meant to be a bride, but can't get a return...). Lots going on in my list. Thanks for reading, Dathi! I'm bumping up the Corporate Galactic continuation on the list. Maybe another long novel might be in store

Egaran Stars is a brilliant read. The author performs flawlessly, bringing scenes that leave you hopeful, only for your dreams to be crushed in a way that leaves you dismayed yet satisfied. As a fan of previous works, I'm hesitant to say the lurking dark themes are welcome, but they were simply enthralling. The author knows the meaning of paranoia, and masterfully dances with the definition within the characters and scenes. A wonderful read, and needs to be placed in your reading list.

A wonderful and tragic story. Another brilliant work, Ye. Here's to hoping for an incredibly happy future tale! It takes a special author to write dark tales as such. I've only written one scene involving a grizzly murder, and it pales in comparison to this story. Wonderful job!

I think I'll have to continue this universe at some point. Probably more in a full story aspect though, maybe more in Silyn's perspective. It's getting put in my to-do list. Thanks for reading, Chris! I'm not sure if Horri saved Earth, but he definitely altered the course of action taken. It's official; I'll have to revisit this universe soon.

That's Symmie's problem, not ours.

Clutching his head with his three fingers, Silyn quietly listened to the board’s drolling rants. He stared into Vyess’ dense skull, wishing the Tyslan male would end his meaningless tirade about increasing security forces across developed galaxys. Why? What’s the point of sending more patrols when there are nine laser cannons on his planet? The race could obviously defend themselves should pirate invaders come within half a lightyear away. If more patrolling members of the Galactic Army we

Now, now... nothing wrong about fluid-filled tentacles. What is it they say about oceans and motion? Only one more chapter to go, and I'm beyond excited to see what everyone thinks about it! As a matter of fact, it's been well over 8 hours. Off to go publish it!

I think I'll have to add more to this universe when In the Shadows finishes. Y'all are hungry for more!

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm one of them Kentuckians and we eat just about anything. You can go to any gas station here and get fried chicken gizzard and hearts.

In such a backwards alternate world, I offer a backwards solution. Meat-based vegetables. Tater tots? Try minced chicken gizzards!

Bingo. With this story, I envisioned how humanity as a whole would be affected should retail companies were the figures leading the planet. This chapter shows how the workers are selected. Career Day became Status Day. It also shows the change in educational curriculum. Kids got dumber because work practices now outweighs history and science at the lower level. Seakinklets is onto something here. Feel free to go down deep into the rabbit hole for this story. I burrowed a path for y'all.

This was such a blast! I loved this, and I smell potential spud-hunter adventures from across the globe (provided other countries followed the UK's decision). How would Idaho fan? Ireland?! I don't want to even think of the replacement for the fast-food restaurants, because I know I'm not dealing with McDonald's and their apple slices...

Sad to say Jared's time in the story is complete. I designed this story with three chapter, each from one person's perspective. Each perspective comes from a different level of existence in the story (Jared is a starting worker, Symanthus is the owner of a company, and... well, you'll have to find out tomorrow about the next person.

Only one way to find out. Next chapter will come out tomorrow

Well, we got one more chapter coming... for now (?). Thanks for reading and commenting, Dathi!!

Hmm... it seems so This date was fun to write. Let's hope Symmie doesn't find tentacles unnerving...

I've been typing, then deleting, then typing, then deleting. The only thought I got is if someone erased the evidence, then it would be apparent to some security-watch scrub. I'm going to be thinking about this chapter, and the past few ones as well, inside a rabbit hole of convoluted conspiracies and potential possibilities. I'm hesitant to pull out the I'm Callin' It cap. The variables are too fuzzy, and I want to be surprised.

This chapter is more tragic than I could imagine. Galen and Noreen are under the report's assumption that Reinard committed suicide. I'm getting vibes that the Faro's body will never be found, which won't reveal any of the murder's details. The assassin's mode of killing was perfect, unless there was a witness or camera footage (I'd imagine there would be. As I'm typing this, I'm leaning towards raven1's thought process. It's a spaceship, and there is no security camera on the airlock?! I'm clinging on the shred of hope Reinard's death scene was a nightmare of sorts...). Needless to say, fantastic work!

“And tell the screeners to be more thorough!” Symanthus shouted as she violently swiped the call closed. She couldn’t believe it; the third time this month NewHorizon had infiltrated. Since the recent expansion into Georgia, the competition intensified. This made seven attempts from NewHorizon in the last two months. She reclined and huffed. Did she need to replace the migration screeners? No, that wouldn’t be the correct move. At least the current ones had some experience. After a moment o

I'm open to bringing this universe back later down the road. Not sure where I'd take it, but I'll keep it on the table

Love it! Next chapter will be posted overnight (in about 5 or so hours). I'm so excited to see what everyone's thoughts will be when the rest of the chapters drop! Teehee! Corporate Galactic isn't too plot heavy, but it definitely tells a story.
-
It's a short little story, but I'm excited to see what everyone will think of everything by the end of chapter three. Thanks, Chris! I look forward to everyone's reactions! Thanks for commenting!

We're well! Our area of KY wasn't hit too badly. Streets are clear and business is usual. I saw Cia's challenge and I just had to take part! I never thought about doing a dystopian sci-fi, but this was a fun little project.
