After her Corona test, Christine received the following text “Hi Christine, please remember to go straight home and self-isolate. We will contact you with your result. (Do not reply by SMS) Daniel cooked dinner for the three of them as Jenny was working evening shift. He served Christine in her room then sat down with Kevin. “How are things going with you Kev?” “Fine Dad, why do you ask?” “I just wondered if anything was bothering you or if you wanted to talk about anything

So, is he now forgiven?

Daniel was awakened early by the hoon at the end of the street, burning down the road on his over-powered motor bike. The house was otherwise quiet so he decided to go for a walk. He had many things going on in his head and hoped a walk alone might help clear his thoughts. He mulled over the ‘Kevin’ issue and concluded that his son seemed to be coping. He thought ‘It’s somewhat surprising, given that Kevin is prone to over reacting to even small matters. But this is a major thing for a tee

A few days later, Jason decided that he needed to talk to Beryl. He had not seen or heard from her since Daniel told him that she wanted him and Colleen to leave. Jason thought it terribly unfair that he and Colleen should suffer for something they had no control over. He summoned up his courage, put on his mask and tentatively knocked on his Gran’s door. As he heard her approaching the door, he called out “It’s Jason Gran.” “Coming, my boy, I’m not as fast as I used to be.” “In your ow

Seems I missed out on something, having not gone to uni. BTW, did Steve preview the video?

Everyone seems so keen for the drama that might ensue if the wrong video was uploaded. 🙈

Kevin mulled over things each night when he went to bed. He was still wondering why he wasn’t angry with his mother, just very confused. As each day passed he felt a little better and came to the conclusion that his parents’ love and care for him must be stronger than he had previously thought. He had not consciously given it any thought before. He just took it for granted, but now that he was presented with a real problem he realised that family support was important. ‘Fuck’ he said to himself

You have an evil mind, but just he same you point towards so many ways this story could go. It is already written about 10 chapters ahead so almost set in stone. But then again maybe not....⌨️ -
I Don’t Need Your Protection
Wombat Bill commented on Wombat Bill's story chapter in I Don’t Need Your Protection
Seems Gran is not all that popular out there. -
Over dinner the three men laughed a lot. In Daniel’s mind they were getting on as they had when the boys were growing up, before Kevin’s attitude towards Jason changed. Now their relationship seemed to be back to just friendly rivalry between brothers. While the two were ribbing each other over the time Kevin beat Jason in the City to Surf because Jason was chatting up girls in the run, Daniel sat back and thought that Jenny and he had really not done too bad a job at raising their family. The s

Having told all his children about Kevin’s heritage, Daniel decided it was time to confront his mother about her part in the deception. He arranged to go to her place for a lunch with just the two of them. He was nervous on the drive over, but still felt it had to be done; and sooner was better than later. “Come in Daniel, it’s great to see you and nice to be able to just have some mother and son time together.” “Good to see you too Mum.” “A drink before lunch son?” “Sure, I’

Jason also took the news calmly. He was of course anxious to ask more questions but refrained in front of Colleen. He would leave it until he had an opportunity to be alone with his mother. While Jenny and Daniel were talking with Jason, Christine coaxed Kevin into helping her prepare drinks and nibbles before dinner. “Another secret meeting Chris; there have been a lot of those lately.” “Yeeees Kevin, we all know what they’re about, and I know it mostly concerns you but do you think you

With compulsory voting at least it makes everyone think about their choice, and then they have the right to complain afterwards.😂

After his mother’s confession, Kevin went straight to his room, without stopping to talk to anyone. He was tempted to slam the door but stopped himself when he realised, perhaps he wasn’t angry after all, just confused. He thought, ‘Am I confused by what I’ve just been told? No, it’s pretty straight forward, so why do I feel confused? I’m confused because I don’t feel any real emotion. Should I be angry or sad or disappointed in Mum? Should I have sympathy for Dad, um, Daniel? I don’t know what

Maybe the shock has not set in yet.

Jenny and Daniel discussed at length whether or not to tell Kevin about his birth father. In the end they decided that not to tell him would just perpetuate the lie that Jenny had told by omission. It was decided that Jenny would tell him alone, then, depending on his reaction and his wishes, Daniel would be brought into the discussion later. “Kevin, I have something to tell you that will come as a complete surprise to you, but I want you to listen to me first and let me finish before you

Smitten by a Hairy Old Man

Interesting observations gentlemen. -
OMG where has the boy gone? A cliffhanger in the first chapter!

That night as Jenny lie in bed waiting for sleep to fold its arms around her she started thinking about Anthony. She had not thought of him in years and until now, she had been successful in blotting him out of existence. But now that she was reminded, the memories came flooding back. When he first arrived at the restaurant she was stunned by his hot Italian looks. He was tall and lean so Jenny used to take in large gulps of his beauty daily as he floated around the restaurant charming all t

Breakfast in the Covid household had never been an organised sit down together event before the virus lockdown, and it was still not so, even with everybody at home all day. On this Monday morning Daniel was determined to deal with the matter of the document he found at his mother’s. He did not have any clients until the afternoon so he had the morning free. After Christine and Kevin went off to their rooms to study online, and Jenny was stacking the dishwasher, Daniel asked “Can you meet me in

Daniel was sitting in his study reading the document yet again. This had become a daily event in the past week. ‘I know I am going to have to face it sometime, confront her and get a full explanation of why she has not told me before. It is my right to know, what did she think I would do if she told me? I am man enough and understanding enough to deal with it. After all, I am a psychologist and dealing with personal conflicts is my business. I deal with the inner workings of the mind every
