When Gran excused herself to go to the bathroom, Julia and Hannah noticed Susan sitting alone and approached her. “Ah Julia and….” “Hannah” added Julia. “Yes, sorry I just met so many people I’m having difficulty remembering all the names” “No problem” replied Hannah. “Caleb introduced you as partners, is that correct?” “Yes we’ve been together over twenty years and have two sons” “You have children?” “Yes, of course, we are both mothers” “And are the

As requested by @Summerabbacat, Yes Lorna is as suggested, Yes this will be added to appetite series. In fact it fits between Young and Hungry for Life and Joshua Miles (this was an attempt to write a standalone story, BUT those familiar characters kept calling me back). My Grandmother's name was Alice, but I can't remember who lived next door, though I suppose they had lived there for 24 years as people didn't move much in those days in Balmain. If I knew, would I tell and reduce my share of the prizemoney?

Previously in Young and Hungry for Life Christmas Day During breakfast, Gran asked “So what are you doing today Raj, Craig tells me you won’t be with us for lunch. Do you have family here?” “Yes, I was born here, my parents live in Harris Park, out west” “So you’ll be having Christmas with them?” “No, things are not good between us” “Oh that’s disappointing, especially this time of the year. So....” Craig interrupted his Grandmother. “Gran, Raj will be

Mother and Son Craig and Justin arranged for Caleb’s mother to visit him at their home on Christmas day. It was a surprise for Caleb and through teary eyes he said “Oh Mum it’s so good to see you after so long” “Same here son, I should not have left it so long, but I wanted to give you time to settle into your new home. Are you happy here?” “Of course, if I can’t be in my own home, then I couldn’t think of anywhere better then here” “I’m so relieved to hear that, you seem to

Don’t want to go home yet

Me thinks there's a relationship starting here -
I'm liking this so far. Good read.

Late December, all three spent two wonderful weeks together at Scott’s family home, further consolidating their relationship. Mid January they took off for Bali, a trip fully funded by Scott’s parents. They were pleased to see their son in a relationship, albeit a little different, but his happiness was what mattered most to them. Malcolm spent his eighteenth birthday in Bali including receiving his gift from the other two, nipple piercing and a piece of jewellery, obtained much more c

They all fronted up at the piercing and tattoo studio a few days later. “So you’re here for a PA today young man” said a senior gentleman who spoke slowly, clearly and very deliberately. “Not today, as I have a UTI, so I thought I would have my nipples pierced. Is the ok” “Of course, whatever the young man desires. By the way, I’m Albert” “Pleased to meet you Albert” “Likewise” The other boys had convinced Scott to at least wear a T shirt when going out, so he strip

Towards the end of December HSC results were published and all three had achieved high final marks. This boosted their confidence of getting university offers in January. The next big event in their lives was Scott’s eighteenth birthday. A party was planned, but the day before when they were to meet for a pre-party lunch, Joshua received a call from Scott, to say the party was cancelled because he was sick. “What’s wrong?” “I’m not sure. I’m going to the doctor this morning, why d

After their order was taken, Malcolm asked “What do you want to talk about?” “It’s awkward, I’ve never been in this situation before, I don’t know the rules” “Just take your time and tell us in your own words. Are you in some sort of trouble with authority or your parents?” “No it’s nothing like that, it’s just personal” “A medical issue?” “No…it’s just…guys during exam time I put everything else in my life aside, now they’re over I want to deal with something that start

The following week, final year exams commenced and none of the boys had time for anything other than final cramming and attending exams. This was the culmination of thirteen years of school and the final scores would determine their eligibility for university entrance. The boys passed each other in the corridors, but the conversations were limited to “Good luck, how do you think you went in that one and I’m glad that’s over” Two weeks later, after the last exam the boys relaxed and dec

The following week saw Joshua and his family busy with preparations for his eighteenth birthday. This was a significant time for a young man as it meant he was now a man, he could drive, drink in a bar, vote and enter into contracts. Although sixteen is the legal age for having sex, there are restrictions, but those no longer apply when a man turns eighteen. His family arranged a family dinner at home and a party to follow for younger friends. He invited some cousins, a few people from scho

It was early Saturday afternoon. Malcolm’s parents had gone to the club, Joshua was entertaining at Anthea’s and Malcolm was home alone. On an impulse, he decided to raid his father’s bar. Although underage, he had drunk alcohol before. His parents believed that if teenagers were going to drink then it was better they started at home, under adult supervision and with appropriate warnings. Consequently he was allowed one beer or a small glass of wine at family functions. However, this t

A few days later Scott texted Joshua with another invitation to his bedroom, Hoping their might be a little sounding rod action. He immediately texted back his acceptance and rang Malcolm to pass on the invitation. “Is this going to be a regular thing?” asked Malcolm “No, but he might show us his sounding rods” “Yeah, I forgot about that. Ok, I’m in” As they were leaving school Joshua received another text, Going to shower when I get home, will leave the door unlatched, let y

Scott approached Joshua in the school yard at lunch time and asked “Do you want to come over after school?” “You mean for the same as before?” “Yes, we didn’t really get too far that time” “I’m not sure…I’ll have to think about it” “You mean you don’t want more of me?” “It’s not that…it’s just…well ok, I will” “Great, come round when you’re ready…I’ll be waiting” All afternoon Joshua replayed the invitation in his mind, each time alternating between yes

It was fifteen minutes into English class when the door swung open and in strode Scott Henderson. “Thank you for making the effort to join us mere mortals Mr Henderson” “No problem Sir” “The Great Bard wrote The quality of mercy is not strained, it droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven, Henderson” “Whatever you say Sir” “Well Henderson, in my case the quality of mercy has been almost pushed to the limit. If you arrive late again, it won’t be gentle rain that droppeth u

Joshua called Malcolm the next morning and asked “Can I come over?” “Leave it for about an hour, mum and dad are going to the club for lunch and play the pokies. They usually run into friends and make a day of it” “Ok, do you want anything?” “Just you” “That I can do, with pleasure, but are you sure you don’t want any food or drink?” “No, mum’s left lunch for me and there’s plenty for two” “Ok, see you soon” <> He didn’t want to arrive empty handed,

Anthea wanted to have a girls’ only party at her place and invite her closest friends. Firstly, she rang her friend Cynthia Broderick. Anthea had previously been at Cynthia’s parties where a topless waiter had often been present. She decided that she could now perhaps, outdo Cynthia. “I’ve been meaning to call you” said Cynthia “I was worried about how you are coping on your own.” “Oh I’m doing just fine thanks” “That’s good news, are you keeping busy?” “I am now, I have

Since Anthea had been widowed and her son was away studying, Lorna assumed she was lonely and tried as much as possible to keep her friend busy. “My friends and I, we get together every Saturday just us girls, no husbands or partners, so it’s our opportunity to swap stories from the week and generally have a good gossip. Sometimes there might be a theme, like a make-up party” said Lorna during a phone conversation with Anthea. “I don’t suppose you would like to join us” “Sounds excelle

When he finished the mowing, Joshua was so hot he stopped to remove his shirt and rolled up the legs of his shorts. ‘Well she wasn’t wrong about working up a sweat, just didn’t expect it to be this way’ When he finished the backyard he stopped the mower and the sound of silence brought out Anthea with a jug of iced water and a second jug with just ice. As Joshua sat down, Anthea said “Stand up and remove your shorts” ‘Ah he thought, she really did want me all sweaty before we start’ “S

One day Lorna called Joshua to say “A friend of mine, well a client actually, I do her cleaning. Anyway she was recently widowed and needs a man about the house to do those things a man usually does. Would you be interested?” “Sure, anything to earn a few dollars” “Excellent, I’ll let her know and arrange a meeting. This could be a good opportunity for you” “Thank you Lorna” “Just don’t let me down” “Never” *** Lorna arranged a meeting between Joshua and her

When school restarted the following Monday, Joshua could not wait to get back. This was unusual for him as he really hated school as the invisible man. But things were very different this term. Fellow students acknowledged him and some even asked him what he did on his holidays. He just made up some stories about going to the beach and the movies. He so wanted to tell everyone the truth, but that could not be. What surprised him the most, was when Scott not only sat opposite him in the chem

At breakfast, Malcolm said “I really liked what you did in the shower. You’re pretty good at that, Have you done that a lot?” “No...that’s the first time. Did you really like it?” “Of course, but you didn’t seem like a first timer” “Have you lots of experiences to compare me with” “NO...that was my first time, it just seemed so good, can I do it to you” “Sure, in the shower later” “You’re on, but you went in so deep, don’t know how you do that, or if I can” “Sp
