    I don't want to spoil too much, so I'll just say that you've hit on a lot of important things here 👏🏼 We will get there very soon! Certainly going with human guinea pigs would go against what the State is supposedly all about, which is peaceful human/vampire relations. But then again...Arani Deadnus doesn't seem like the type to let that get in the way of showing off the State's power via their crucial Special weapons. Indeed. Vincent's true motives remain somewhat of a mystery for now.

    Yes, I think the expectation was that Maratoni and Demetrius would be very much two peas in a pod. However, that is not the case. Important question. If it was intentional, then what was the reason? And you're right, it's possible he didn't want the others helping. Then again, he already told Maratoni that Dani doesn't need a mentor anyway.
