  1. The plot thickens indeed...
  2. 22. LEGAL TALK Cecilia beat her way through the crowded hallway of the Department of Justice. She was dangerously close to running late, and there was nothing Judge Carter hated more than tardiness. It wasn’t her fault though, the request for a court reporter came in after hours and was deemed an “emergency session”. Nobody told her what the actual emergency was. These types of hearings typically involved vampires who had committed the most hideous crimes, or very high-ranking indivi
  3. The romance is coming when they turn 18 😂. Have patience, my friend.
  4. Yes, it appears so! At least it seems that Vinicius had something else planned for him...
  5. Yes, we're finding out a lot more about him. And I have a feeling that's still just the tip of the iceberg 😬
  6. Seriously, there's something really wrong with her! 👹. Can someone put her in her place already? 😂 Hmmmm 🤔 It certainly raises a lot of questions. More chapters on the way!
  7. Thank you, that means a lot 🙏🏼 I'll try to have the next chapter up soon.
  8. Dani isn't always the sharpest 😂
  9. 21. SAVIOR The clock on my bedside erupted with the sound of my morning alarm, startling me out of my thoughts and making Neo jump up. The Black Demon, as Vincent had referred to him, seemed to believe that he was a lap dog, and had spent the entire night snoring in my face and giving me next to zero personal space. “It’s alright, it’s just the alarm,” I told him, while hitting the snooze button. He laid back down, unimpressed. I could hear the rain gently pattering on my window
  10. The Symphony No. 3, Op. 36, also known as the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs. The first and third movements are written from the perspective of a parent who has lost a child, but I'm particularly drawn to the second movement, which is that of a child separated from a parent. The words are of a prayer that was inscribed by a girl on the wall of her gestapo prison cell in Zakopane, Poland. "Mother, do not weep, Most chaste Queen of Heaven Support me always."
  11. It's not easy being Dani! 😂 That's a good question. Demetrius' departure was as sudden as his entrance. He kind of left Dani high and dry, but then again he did say that goodbyes were not his thing. Thank you!
  12. Dani believes he accidentally used his gift on Neo right at the beginning, after the dog yelped in pain and backed away from him. Is there? 😬.
  13. 🤣 🤣 🤣
  14. 20. KING ROMERO His gaze was heavy-lidded, and it spelled out a four-letter word: lust. He stalked towards the bed at a leisurely pace. The vampire looked so much like Vincent, that for a moment I was convinced it was him. Except he seemed a couple years older, and his clothes were outdated. He stopped, and I followed his hungry gaze to a stunning antique canopy bed with red velvet and heavy ivory silk curtains, where a voluptuous woman lay naked on the splendidly large
  15. Thank you, I appreciate your continued enthusiasm for the story! 😊 And no worries, the plot is not going to be changed in any way because of the comments--good or bad. We're all friends in this comment section as far as I'm concerned, and it's fun reading everyone's takes, even if they are critical. I'm happy you guys are invested enough to comment and dive deep into the story with your own theories, things you enjoy, and things that bother you. That's a huge compliment to me, so thank you. Next chapter should be out soon, I just need to find the time to edit.
  16. Yes, Melinda is certainly an interesting figure and Vinicius' choice of her as the proxy was no accident.
  17. Yes to all of that. Thanks for the great take!
  18. Yep, Dani is in high demand.
  19. That's right. In chapter 15 Dani had outlined all the known methods to kill a vampire.
  20. That is a beautiful idea. It's a very real possibility from the info we have at hand right now.
  21. It takes Dani a lot of time to figure some things out 🤣 Good observation! Yep, he better start working on those interpreting skills!
  22. You can't expect him to predict his own murder and call it a failure that he didn't...although if we go by his note to Van Sant, you might think that he knew it was coming 🤔 Hmmm
  23. Yes 😬 We have additional options now for whom it might be referring to. Maybe, maybe not. If you reread what Melinda Moretti said of dream walking, it appears she was at least hinting that the ability to dream walk was not a given gift, but rather something else... Yes, all their secret schemes need to come to light! Lol.
  24. That's a solid observation. Ha! Perhaps Vinicius had more faith in his fellow blood-sucking brothers 😂 Good point indeed.
  25. That's a good point! And you're right, his natural inclination is to trust and believe the best of others even when there isn't much proof to support that.
