  1. The white van marked with the emblem of Children’s Services of Tennessee pulled into the circular driveway in front of the century-old mansion that now served as classrooms and administrative offices for the Academy. It was 9:00 am, and the campus was a beehive of activity, with cadets hurrying to their next class or out into the parade grounds for morning calisthenics. Gary stood at the top of the steps under the front portico, and watched as the passenger door opened, and a handsome boy
  2. Sean was married, and had a wife of his own. Although they were committed to taking care of Bill for the first few months after Bill got out of the hospital, Bill was afraid of becoming a burden on their life together as a couple. Bill preferred the option to go "poof" and disappear rather than have to force his best friend to put his life on hold to take care of him. Yet another of Bill's sacrifices.
  3. Gary sat in the office of the Academy reviewing the paperwork and transcripts for a new cadet who would be arriving the next day. All the boys at their school came from troubled backgrounds and had a variety of emotional and academic problems, but that was exactly the kind of student they had formed the Academy to help. Gary and his mate, Bill had an uncanny knack to be able to connect with these boys at a deeper level than your standard public-school teacher. Part of that could be attributed
  4. Good catch on that @centexhairysub. I'm delving into a narrow and lesser-known facet of ancient Celtic paganism in order to create my own version of the mythology. "Tuath De'" translates to "Tribe of the gods" and within that broad spectrum is a branch known as Celtic Animism. This sect held the land, waters, and trees as sacred, and believed that certain spirits were closely associated with particular animals. So, I've used that mythology as my springboard and adapted it somewhat to align with four known groups of were-kind in my fictional world to create a "what if" scenario to explore how those Celtic animal spirits could have survived the eons as the last of the Celtic tribe of gods by gathering an assembly of corresponding were-creatures as worshippers, and forcing them to perform the subsequent rituals that will be revealed as the story progresses.
  5. Hi Werebear fans, I'm back with the first chapter in the fourth installment of the Werebears in America series! I'm currently on a vacation of sorts visiting family in the North for a couple weeks, so new chapter postings will be a little sporadic for a while, but I wanted to give you a taste of what's to come with the first chapter. Be sure to follow this story to get updates when the new chapters are published! Enjoy! 💙 Grumpy Bear
  6. Rieka peered through the doorway into the darkened room containing four small beds. The children were all asleep as they should be at their age and at this hour of night. She thought of the extreme efforts that had been expended in order to find these children, but the cost was necessary for the continuation of their way of life. “I honestly thought that we would not find them this cycle,” Karhu whispered, walking up behind Rieka in the dim hallway. “Even as the human population expands
  7. Werebear mates Gary and Bill run an academy for at-risk boys, and are thrilled to discover that an orphaned youth sent to their boarding school by the state is bear kindred. But, when the mysterious boy is drawn to a remote area in the Smoky Mountains by an unknown force following his 18th birthday, the Bears must band together to save one of their own from a fate worse than death.
  8. The enclave in Atikokan was a buzz of activity. Not only were Axel and Adam home once again, but Max, the youngest of the former monsters and the last Cub to bond with a Papa and be turned, had finally reached the day of his first change. Max had been resistant to befriending any of the bears for the first few months after coming to Atikokan, remaining wary of the creatures that reminded him of Christopher, the werebear who had transformed him into the monster. Over time, Erik, one of Ati
  9. The bears never did get their tour of Anchorage together, choosing instead to spend their last day in the city in their hotel suite, making love all day and ordering room service. They ordered enough food at dinnertime to feed a small football team, and it was delivered to their room by none other than Logan, fresh off his shift and eager for one more night of play with the bears he admired. “Welcome back, Pup,” Axel said with a grin as he let the energetic wolf wheel in the cart laden
  10. Hey Werebear Fans! I'm dealing with Tropical Storm Fred today and I'm expected to get up to 10 inches of rain and up to 50 mph winds for the next 3 days, so I'm getting everything tied down and I'll be staying indoors working on the last two chapters of Arctic Roots over the weekend. So, as long as I don't blow away, you should expect to see Chapter 19 posted bright and early on Monday morning! -- 💙 Grumpy
  11. Someone asked the same question back in the story Trophy Cub when Gunnar gave Thomas a silver bracelet for Christmas. Werebears (at least in the world that I have created for these characters) have no weakness to silver, gold or any other ore or metal. Werebears can be killed through severe injury that can kill faster than they can heal, even with their fast healing powers. A regular bullet to the brain or heart will kill a werebear, but a bullet to the gut or other organ would most likely be healed and therefore non-fatal.
  12. “You aren’t going back overland all the way to Coldfoot again, you’re sitting your bear asses in a plane and flying back,” Matthias yelled, “Only assholes who don’t care about the Arctic ecosystem go tearing it up with their big truck tires, off-roading wherever they fucking want like ignorant and entitled shitheads.” “Well, I’m not going to let my new Mercedes 4 by fucking 4 sit out here on the tundra to rust, am I?” Axel yelled back, “Besides, the last time I put the Cub on a plane, he fr
  13. “So, tell me Alexei,” Matthias said as they sat at a table outside Douglas’s home. “There must have been more that brought you all the way here than just a Cub wanting to meet his Grand-Papa and based on the life you’ve described living in that werebear hippie commune of yours, I very much doubt that you purchased that Mercedes-Benz 4x4 over there without some additional assistance.” “First of all,” Axel replied, “I go by ‘Axel’ now and not Alexei. I gave up my Russian name during a major

    Papas and Cubs

I've known people just like this. A straight couple who always fought before sex to get themselves heated up and turned on. If that's the sort of emotional relationship that Matthias needs, It's probably for the best that he lives alone as a hermit! Although his long-term scheme to turn Alexei into a thick-skinned trash-talking bad boy worked, luckily for Axel he found a better way, and found someone who loves him for who he is.

    Papas and Cubs

I just wanted to mention that after all of the extensive research and historical study that I've put into each of the previous chapters of Arctic Roots, I went into the writing of this chapter completely blind. I didn't know until I wrote Adam's line when he asked what herbs were in the stew that it had been drugged with orpin rose and bearsbane, and I had no idea what was going to happen when Matthias showed up. After hearing Axel's version of his life story for so long, it suddenly made sense to hear a version of it from Matthias's point of view, and it all took shape as it flowed from my brain to my fingers. Matthias hated Alexei because he was too nice. Matthias wanted someone to argue with the way he did with his former Mate. Axel's hardships over the years had actually served to mold him into the kind of bear that Matthias always wanted. So of course, they were going to end up having an insult and profanity-laden 3-way! 😁
  16. “What do you mean, his Cub?” the man asked Axel. “He is an ancient Bear Spirit, but he has no children.” “None that he’s told you about, apparently,” Axel said. “Have you seen the Bear shift from human to bear form before?” “Yes, many times,” the man replied. “Why is that important?” “Because it will explain why we’re removing our clothing now,” Axel said with a nod to Adam. They both quickly shed their clothing and before the murmurs of shock from the onlookers could grow

    Roughing It

The sun rose too early in the morning in the Arctic Circle. Axel nudged his cub in their big double sleeping bag shortly after the sky began to brighten and pressed his morning erection against Adam’s rear. Adam yawned and raised his leg, giving his Papa easier access. Axel pushed in slowly, and the pair began a magnificently slow morning fuck. Axel kissed the back of his cub’s neck as he pumped his rear at a leisurely pace, reaching around to grasp Adam’s cock in his fist and stroke it
  18. Just a quick note to all the werebear fans - This latest story has been the most challenging to write so far, and I just finished this latest chapter at 1:30 this morning! I'm going to take some time to get caught up with the chapter writing and with some work projects, so there will not be any new chapters over the weekend. If all goes well I should be able to start posting the next chapters on Monday or by Wednesday of next week at the very latest. Thanks to you all, 💙 Grumpy
  19. Adam woke in the hotel room in Fairbanks to the sound of the shower running in the bathroom. After a minute, the water stopped, and Axel stepped out into the room drying himself off. “I’d get a hot shower this morning if I were you, Cub,” Axel said. “I don’t know what the opportunities for bathing are going to be after we head north today, so make this one count!” Adam spent a long time under the showerhead, scrubbing himself well and luxuriating in the feel of the hot water running d

    The Axeman

Axel and Adam sat in the truck as the Dawson Ferry carried them across the Yukon River so they could begin the next leg of their voyage. When they had checked out of the Westminster Hotel, the clerk at the front desk inquired if they had any trouble with the infamous 3rd floor ghost. “The ghost’s name is Samuel,” Axel replied. “He and I had a few words last night. I don’t think he’ll be giving you any more trouble, but if he starts up again, give me a call and I’ll have another talk with
  21. Axel woke in the night hearing a breathy whisper in his ear and a hand stoking his cock. “Cub,” Axel mumbled, “Let me sleep. We’ve fucked enough for one night.” He reached up to bat at the face whispering in his ear but found only empty space. He looked over at Adam’s side of the bed, but the cub was sleeping soundly. They had been partying in the Saloon till nearly closing time, and then they had come up to the room and made love for another hour before finally going to sleep.

“Who is ‘Samuel’, Papa?” Adam asked carefully. He knew that their friend Thomas’s cub was named Sam, but he was sure that this Samuel was someone else. “Samuel is a complicated part of my story, Cub,” Axel replied. “Let’s get checked into a room and have a walk around town and I’ll try to fill you in.” Axel went into the lobby and inquired about available rooms. “By any chance, is the room on the third floor with the bay window on the right side vacant right now?” “Uh, yeah

“Last day of driving before we can take a break for a day or two, Cub,” Axel said after they checked out of their hotel in Whitehorse and got back on the road. “Good,” Adam replied, “The truck is comfortable and all, but I could use a little more time out of this seat. What’s in Dawson City, that’s so important we need to stop and see for a couple days?” “Dawson City is part of my old stomping grounds, Cub,” Axel replied. “You could say that some of the best and some of the worst day
  24. Axel and Adam made good time the first day and elected to stop for the night in Fort Saint John, British Columbia, taking advantage of city comforts while they were still available. After a good rest and a hearty breakfast, they continued on the road toward the Yukon Territory. As soon as they began driving, Axel tuned the satellite radio system to the 80’s heavy metal channel and cranked up the speakers. Adam winced a little but listened along as his Papa periodically thrashed his head a
