  1. Another hangover hit me as I came around from my zero quality slumber. I turned over onto my back and rubbed my eyes, feeling a warm body next to me. Shit! So it did happen? I turned to see a peaceful looking Steven passed out next to me. I pulled the covers back and swung my legs over the side of the bed, thinking how hot it was in the room. I'd left the heating on by the feel of things. That was going to add to the gas bill, which I struggled to pay at the best of times. My mouth fe
  2. Remember me? I mean that day when you first read about me. The kid from Greenstone. The kid who had no tendencies towards... well, anything really. The kid where finding parents was the number one priority, all he'd ever want, need or desire? Wow, where did he go? "Puppy, please do not slump at my table; you're making the place look messy. Now, will you please tell me what is on your mind, or I am going to have to suffocate you!" I looked up at Mum as her words dragged me from my thou
  3. I found myself in Chariots on a Wednesday night, having flipped burgers, fried chicken, and peeled plastic cheese from a packet. Plastic cheese! Have you ever thought about that as you bite into that yellow sheet dumped in your burgers? The Satan born company Kraft made it famous. The same company that muscled its way into a renowned chocolate company. Jesus, Mr Cadbury would be turning in his grave if he knew his company had been snatched by a place that makes... plastic fucking cheese! "Y
  4. Flashback: Max nodded and was passed the form to look at by Mr Watson. I Could see there was a lot of strange wording on it, none of which I understood, but I knew this must be the form that makes it all legal. Max studied the wording intently before looking up at Mr Watson. "It says here that Jensen has a trust fund set up. Can you explain this?" "Of course. When the state handed Jensen to us, it transcribed his parents had set up an insurance bond for him when he was born. There was a credit made to that bond each month for fifty pounds. After the death of his parents, this continued to be paid from the estate of Brian Stibbings and will do so until maturity." "Hmm, I see, and when will that be?" "The Maturity? That will happen on his eighteenth birthday and will be paid to our central account with Puppy being the beneficiary." "Can this be changed?" "Yes, of course; what would you like us to do?" "Well, I will go to my bank with Jensen and have an account opened for him. This is his money, and I would like him to have it under his control." "Of course, Mr Chase. Once the funds are paid out, I will have a cheque drawn up and made out to puppy as per your request." "Thank you, Mr Watson," I said. "So if you are happy with everything else, feel free to sign, and that will conclude the transfer of custody."
  5. Day one of my new life. New life in the sense that I technically had no partner, no roommate, no best friend, no one helping me pay this mortgage. Who was I without Hunter? I imagined relief, thankfulness, peace. Instead, as I sat slumped on the sofa in our apartment, I felt loss. It had been a few hours since Taylor and I had said our goodbyes and headed home. We'd stayed at the pub for about two hours, mostly talking about Hunter. I explained how I... we had gotten into this mess of a re
  6. Thanks so much guys for the really lovely comments. I'm really flattered and humbled that the story is stiring up so much great debate. It's good to know your thoughts, all of you. James
  7. Thanks for the really lovely and encouraging comments Quixo, That;s so nice to hear, James
  8. Great overview and thesis. Love it. Thank you! James
  9. Jack was better than I expected, nicer than Joey made out and more down to earth than he looked. I liked him. But I shouldn't, should I? Because guys like Jack, Hunter and all those types always let you down in the end. I'd given Jack my entire life story without ever really hearing his. Probably because he couldn't get a word in, something I was conscious of more than once. But for everyone I talked to, Jack, Steven, Mum, I realised things were ending with Hunter, It had to. My life was ab
  10. Hey, Never mind my writing, all these comments were so heartfelt and flattering. I am so made up this crossover is working. It can be risky to merge, but you guys are the judges and I'm really pleased you're enjoy it. Thanks so much again, you guys really spoil me with your kind words. James. (Next chapter in the works)

    Chapter 2

Poor Ricky, what Bastard parents! Sampson needs to Butt out!
  12. Thank you guys for all you're lovely comments. It's nice to have the time to write the chapters as I want them to be. Nothing worse than rushing something out. Hope you're all well. James
  13. "Hey, should you be here?" I heard a now-familiar voice as I walked over to the bar in Chariots. "Oh hey Joey, fancy seeing you here, and uh, why shouldn't I be here?" I replied, pulling up a seat in the quiet-looking venue. "Well, it's just when people come to a club, they usually have a smile on their face, and you? Well, you look like you got mugged just before you came in." "Oh," I said, trying on my best grin. "I'm fine. Well, actually, I'm not. I sort of ended my car crash o
  14. Thanks a Lot Q. It's a big house in below average condition. Lot's of work, but got the price knocked down so can't complain.
  15. Chewing on the crust of a fresh loaf Mum had made for me to take home, I sat slumped at her kitchen table. It was a dull day which made for no motivation to study like I should have been doing. Mum was scrubbing the oven, and I found her motions somewhat therapeutic as her yellow gloves furiously moved from side to side. Dad was at work… as usual, finding the Autumn winds giving him plenty of work. He'd moved into cleaning gutters as well as tree surgery. I could see why, of course. When s
  16. I noted this feverishly written chapter had a few schoolboy errors dotted around. Thank you to Mark B for clearing them up. Man I need to slow down!!! Hope those niggles didn't dull the chapter James
  17. Most of the story is set in my mind, but you guys do so often get my writing juices swishing around. Like how much pain could I actually put Cody through without him shooting himself. Awww, I don't mean that. I love Cody.
  18. Thanks
  19. "You're not seriously wearing that, are you?" "It's new… and expensive. Anyway, what's wrong with it?" "It's camp." "Uh, duh, Hunter, we're going to a gay club." "Uh, duh, Puppy, no, we're going to a straight club doing a gay night. And anyway, Babe, dressed like that, makes you look, well, available!" I rolled my eyes and headed back into our bedroom. I looked in our full-length mirror at my shiny silver shirt and tight cream jeans. I thought I looked fine, but now I h

    In the end

Always welcome. I also forgot to mention, this was exceptionally well written if this is your first foray into writing? You're a lot tidier than I am.

Thanks so much for the kind comments WD Yeah I wanted Alan's "partner" to be someone people least expected. I hope that worked for you hehehe. Another book with Ethen? I had a thought to run the time line over again with Ethen. I'm thinking through that. Not sure. I really want to do a story that I created in my head and keeps popping up (no spoilers i'm afraid) but it will be a romance/drama. And set in two locations in England. I kinda feel like I wanna write something really lazy and cute. We'll see. As I say I'm taking a break to let the lubrication seep back through to my brain. James

Thanks Q. Yeah give Purity a try. It's more drama and romance than Sci-fi. I kind of styled that book to have a little bit of everything. It was supposed to be my crowd puller haha, but Saturday Boy breezed past Purity. Some things in life are unpredictable. It's also one of the few Third person stories I wrote. Normally I prefer to write First person. But gave Purity a shot in third. Depends what you prefer. James

Always great hearing your thoughts Q. Another book? Well perhaps, but not just yet. I have so many prjcts in my brain. Perhaps for a sequel of some kind next, or something Brand new. I'm now going to take a week or so break so I can hang some pictures and finish unpacking the last 10 boxes I neglected due to Jake and Cody haha. But i'll be back soon
