Rubbing his eyes, Tamir set aside his Mandarin vocab list and switched to Arabic. He opened his window in case Adam “forgot something,” and resumed his studies. An hour later, he let out a great sigh when he’d finished, then began his next commission: an anime-inspired portrait of his client’s Blood Elf Ranger D&D character. He was in the middle of outlining it when Adam hopped through the window. “Sup, baby boy.” Adam graced him with a wide grin that got Tamir all up in his feels. “Ya

@drsawzall Yup, and things are only gonna get crazier as we hurtle toward the climax.

Mike rolled his eyes when Adam came running around the corner, huffing and covered in sweat. He tried to explain why he was late, but Mike cut him off. “Spare me and get into formation. I swear it’s been a month, and your ass still hasn’t gotten with the program. Be late tomorrow and you're banned from coming around here. Is that clear, lover boy?” “Yes, sir,” Adam said, sarcasm dripping from every syllable as he got behind Tamir. They exchanged a brief kiss and incurred Mike’s wraith; he t

Tamir fought to keep his eyes open as Mike explained how to make a deadfall trap. He looked at the twins, who were dead on their feet. They were in the woods outside the HOP, and it was going on 24 hours without sleep. He closed his eyes a moment, and the next thing he knew, Mike slapped his face. “Ouch! I’m up. Damn.” “Then you’ll have no problem showing me how to make a deadfall?” “Yeah.” He gathered the sticks, string, and rock and set to work. Through his brain fog, he struggled to

On the way back home, Mike saw Khalil smoking. He shook his head and left to retrieve some moleskin for the boys’ blisters. When opened his bedroom door, Amber was resting on his bed, running her hand up Carmen. He grabbed it from her. “Girl, that ain’t no toy.” “No need for ya burst a vein. You should’ve told me you hunted. I go all the time with my brothers.” “Busy now. We’ll talk later.” Opening his dresser, he retrieved a med kit, but Amber grabbed it from him. “Pay attention

Tamir checked his phone, wondering why Mike was running thirty minutes late. He had some nerve telling them to be ready at 5 AM and not showing. He must be on that CPT. Shrugging, he went about his day, cooking breakfast for the family, then doing morning prayers. He was finishing up the dishes when Mike decided to show his ass. His father, a disheveled mess from working long hours, took one look at Mike and slammed the door in his face before he had a chance to introduce himself.

“Fuck!” Amber groaned as Mike continued going down on her. Covered in sweat, and other bodily fluids, they caught their breaths, then spooned awhile on her bed. “Sorry about earlier,” Mike said, referring the bit of performance anxiety he’d had. “Got a lot on my mind right now.” “Aw, sweetie. Everyone has off days. But you keep up your tongue game and I’mma marry ya.” He laughed. “I aim to please. But I gotta bounce.” He dressed. “We’ll hang again soon.” “Deffo, babe. Hit me

@Clancy59 Spot on observations. And yeah, Mike’s dad and the other fathers need to be under the jail for how they treated them. Also, the Johnson boys aren’t meant to be Mike’s army; he’s training them to save their lives as he broke the cardinal rule of his pack by telling outsiders about them. So no, the other Boyz don’t have recruits, though I might include that idea in future spin off books I have planned. Also, yeah there’s gonna be a massive fight between Mike and his dad later on when. Thanks for your comments, and I hope you continue enjoying my little story 😊

When Tamir saw the twins crying their eyes out, he flipped his shit and charged forward. He cocked back his fist, then struck with a right hook. But he found himself face down on the ground, arm pinned behind him with Mike’s knee in his back. Mike lowered his head and spoke directly into Tamir’s ear. “Calm down and tell your friend to leave. We have business to discuss.” Tamir resisted a bit before complying. “We’ll kick it later. Text me?” “I’m not leaving 'til he gets his hands off

@JeffreyL You’re the second person who’s mentioned this, so I’ll add one in the final draft. Thanks for your comment.

@drsawzall That remains to be seen, but the better question is can he do that without landing in jail, giving his temper.

Five AM came too early, but Mike plowed through his morning routine and was ready for church when 7:00 AM rolled around. Stifling a yawn, he and the other ushers finished placing hymnbooks in the pews, then he distributed programs as the congregation entered for 8 AM service. Once they’d finished, he helped Sister Emma-Jean to her seat, then took his place with his family as the choir processional began. After the first hymn, he passed out the collection plate, then he had to escort Ms

Over the coming days, Tamir busied himself with commissions, new art pieces, and completing his outfit. He also met with the twins who’d voluntold him to make them outfits for the first day of school. Khalil wanted his to have characters from Naruto, Bleach, and The Nightmare Before Christmas; while Jahlil wanted his to have characters and weapons from Call of Duty, Team Fortress 2, Halo, and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. It would be a ton of work, but he welcomed the challenge, hoping it wo

@drsawzall Right. She’s instrumental in Mike accepting he needs therapy to undo all the toxic crap his dad taught. In the coming chapters you’ll see Mike shaking off the hold his dad has on him and becoming his own person.

On his way home, Mike thought back to the last day he and Tamir had shared, and he realized he hadn’t held up his end of the deal. He couldn’t remember a time when he wasn’t busy with some course, camp, workshop, or extra credit project. And that was on top of all the other extracurriculars Pops forced him to do. As a result, he’d gained a reputation of being a brain, and that’s how he and the Screw Crew met up freshman year. Mike was in the library at Coleman A. Young High, when

@drsawzall google urban dictionary dot com. And yeah you’re right, but it takes Mike a while to realize asking for help doesn’t make him “soft”.
-
Tamir’s interaction with Mike left his head spinning. What the hell had just happened? He hadn’t meant to out himself, nor did he mean to bring up their past like that. It just poured out of him. And what the hell was with Mike laying hands on him like that then admitting he kissed him because he didn’t want to lose him? This situation was so messed up. Did Mike have feelings for him? And if he did, should he even bother pursing things, given all Mike’s issues? If Tamir was keeping it one h

Superman (It’s Not Easy)
frozenphenix commented on frozenphenix's story chapter in Superman (It’s Not Easy)
@drsawzallLol, yeah. But they get better, I promise; especially Mike after he starts therapy to unlearn all the toxic bs his dad instilled in him. -
Mike nodded as Pops left the basement and began his morning workout. After stretching, he put back on his weighted vest, then did weight training, then bag work, before finishing on the treadmill. “One ninety-eight…one ninety-nine…two hundred. Ugh.” Mike exited the bench press, made a note on in his exercise chart, and oorah’d. He could finally lift 250 pounds without resorting to a partial transformation. For the next hour, he worked on his striking techniques. Taking a deep bre

@drsawzall You don’t even know what I store for y’all 😈

Tamir watched the exchange with a quizzical look on his face and shook his head. Straight guys were so weird sometimes, but he could still see glimpses of the boy he’d fallen for five years ago. “Sorry about that, but duty called. Now where were we?” Mike plopped down beside him as if nothing had happened. “What the heck was that all about?” Tamir said, pointing to Mike’s friends and the girls. “Me using the Asthma Kid Opener, disarming the obstacles, and then pumping BT.”

Every wolf suffers fleas. 17-year-old Michael “B” Smith and his fellow wolf-shifter Soldier Boyz learned to kill while other kids learned to ride bikes. Mike’s dad, and leader of their pack, expects absolute obedience and perfection from him, or he dishes out beatings. He dutifully complies until his former best friend, 18-year-old Tamir “Pinky” Johnson, moves back into town, stirring long-suppressed emotions in Mike. To save them, Mike must push Tamir and himself beyond their limits and become pack leader. Will he succeed in subduing the Soldier Boyz and winning Tamir’s heart?

The summer of 2013 marked a pivotal point in seventeen-year-old Michael “B” Smith’s life. As he was wont to do in those days, Mike was in his elements: picking up girls at the mall. He looked Amber in the eyes and ran his hand up her back. “I don’t bite. Unless you’re into that?” Amber pulled him close and bit his bottom lip just enough for him to feel it, then pulled away, smirking. “Get her!” his inner wolf said. Mike laid a chaste kiss on her full lips, before transitioning to

True to his word, Abe administered the cure to Dre. Travis wanted to take him and flee, but when he tried teleporting, he found he could only travel a few meters, and with the spiritual chains binding him, he couldn’t use Blitzcraft, so he was resigned to his fate. They dressed him in a bright white toga, matching silk stockings and sandals, and told him to wait in the dark until someone came for him. “You’re gonna get us out of this right?” Dre asked him, his voice quivering.
