    Up to the present day it had been by far the hottest day of this summer. The sun burned mercilessly on the grasslands from a steel-blue sky and one could see the air vibrating with the naked eye. Only a tiny whisp of wind was able to mitigate the oppressive heat by a mere fraction. Not a single sound could be heard, not even the buzzing of a bumblebee or the singing of a bird. There was only silence as if all living creatures had found a cool spot in the shadows to escape the brutal temper

    Thank you very much. Why you stepped away for a while? I guess you stumbled into the in-built trap. I had a kind of pause included in which not much happened to give the reader a chance for a breather before the next intense series of things happening started. And I did it on purpose🙂 It has been quiet as far as me is concerned since Maddog & The Pope. I have been battling my way through serious health problems but the recovery has started and the first ideas for new stories start to flow again. Love Georgie

    That is a logical deduction. But "collared" is also a synonym for "caught", "nabbed" etc. And it was Niki who was finally caught.

    Hi there, It is a bit too arrogant to say "I told you so!!", but the story was thoroughly planned the way it is written with ch. 1 only laying the groundwork for the further development. But I'm really glad you stayed with the story and you have reviewed your previous opinion. At least it tells me I did the right thing in writing the story as it was written. Only one chapter to go!     Living in a downtown alley sure had its advantages. Shopping could be done just a short walk away and a visit to one of the unofficial gay bars was only a few steps more. But it had its drawbacks as well. One of them was the limited view they had from their living room.     Just a tip: reread the last paragraph closely and you'll find a clear indication what has happened with Snake Eyes. But for the rest his role in this story is finished. There are however other things to happen🙂
