Hi there, Many thanks for your extremely kind comment. I know I tend to write on more complicated subjects than only the purely sexual one, although it is not left out of it. I guess that makes me a "slow writer", because every story requires thorough thinking, planning and research. And apart from that I don't shun controversial subjects, as "Dance over the Thunderclouds" and to a lesser extent other stories have demonstrated. But then it feels good that my efforts are appreciated, because in the end the only thing I want to do is to publish a story that the readers like. And stay tuned on Maddog & The Pope, there's "only" a rough 450 pages of this story left. And things could get tumultuous🙂 Love Georgie

Good morning, There's only one reply possible: just keep on reading, all 574 pages and you'll have the answer🙂 Love Georgie

Tribulations
Georgie DHainaut posted new chapter in Maddog & The Pope (Learning to fly on Broken Wings)
The first weeks in Merligborn turned out to be pure horror for Niki. He struggled through his job every working day. Maybe the job in itself was not bad, but he had his father looking over his shoulder through the eyes of the branch manager, Herr Weber. He felt he was under constant scrutiny and surveillance, observed from a distance from the Hamburg headquarters, despite the three hundred kilometers between them. There were days he was so fed up with it, that he wanted to stick his middle finge- 8 comments

The priest's name is really purely coincidence. And Inno's redemption? I keep that a secret..but it is in another way than the Cathechism describes. But let us call it for the time being emancipation. Or maybe liberation is a better word, now I think of it. Love Georgie

Hi there, Thank you very much for your kind comment. Inno's ordeal continues for a while but then sudden developments take place, so stay tuned. Love Georgie

Chapter 2 Inno
Georgie DHainaut posted new chapter in Maddog & The Pope (Learning to fly on Broken Wings)
About two to three hours after Niki’s outburst of frustration at the shunting yard fence, another young boy was racing his bike like mad over Merligborn’s inner city ring. He was seemingly impervious of other traffic around him, as he furiously stepped on his pedals as if he were being chased by the Devil himself and all of Hell’s hosts of demons. He behaved like he was frantically trying to escape some scene of a terrible accident. His long, ginger-blond curls were streaming in the wind,- 10 comments

Hi there, Your judgement is no surprise for me, since it closely follows the judgements of my test readers after reading chapter 1. But it seems that both the test readers and you missed the first seeds of change. I guess it is only fair to say that children are generally speaking the result of their parents' upbringing, so your final judgement on Niki is more a judgement on his parents, which in my opinion can be called self-centered. But even this has a reason that becomes clear in the story. And as far as his "lover" Raimund is concerned: here we are really talking egoism! I can concur with your statement that maybe at the end of chapter 1 Niki can be considered a self-centered, spoiled brat. But: this novel is not about the end status at the end of chapter 1 but about character development, in other words about Niki's struggle to get away from his being a self-centered, spoiled brat and development into his own personality. It the end it takes only about 600 pages.🙂 Without betraying too much: you won't find this development in the second chapter, because that is another introduction on the second protagonist in the story. But you can safely assume that development starts ticking from chapter 3 on, with progresses and relapses into being a brat. So I kindly invite you to keep on reading and come to a final judgement at the end of the story. Love Georgie

Hi there, I have no problems at all with honesty. But maybe it is a good idea to wait for what follows, because then it turns out you are "missing the trick", as you call it. So consider my reply as a kind of invitation. This is only the first chapter to "lay the groundwork" as far as the character Niki is concerned. Love Georgie

Yes, there is a lot of mystery in this story but both Niki and you (if you stay tuned) will find out. Thank you for your kind compliment. Love Georgie

Hi there, Yeah, Raimund let him dance on the rim of the smoking volcano of the worse part of gay culture. But stay tuned and you'll find out why is brother suggested his "expulsion" from Hamburg. Thanks for the compliment in the last line🙂

Thanks, stay tuned for the other 7 or 8 chapters...coming up in the months to come. Thanks....🙂 In all modesty: test readers have described it as a very intriguing story, so stay tuned.

Two boys from totally different backgrounds. Two different and equally dramatic histories. Two testing struggles. A tempestuous love affair in a provincial German town. Narrow-minded middle-class attitudes, venomous and hypocritical Catholic morality, archaic, harsh foreign prejudices. Street Art rebellion and a society basking in a false sense of security, ignoring the largest future natural disaster and the threat of war. The book opens with two introductions and continues through a tumultuous series of events to a not quite inevitable conclusion!

Chapter 1 Niki
Georgie DHainaut posted new chapter in Maddog & The Pope (Learning to fly on Broken Wings)
It was a wonderful autumn Sunday morning with the sun shining abundantly over the Westphalian city of Merligborn. Despite the relative early hour, at least for a Sunday, at 10AM, it was busy on the street that ran next to the railroad shunting yards, passing the station, leading towards the city center. It was full of traffic and a fair number of pedestrians walked on the sidewalks, all heading a bit hurried in the same direction. It was as if they were drawn by a magnet towards the large- 16 comments

Dedicated to a young man of more than unbounded beauty, that would’ve made Cecco dal Caravaggio pale in comparison, and with a smile like spring sunlight, who happens to be a very talented and promising street art painter in Berlin and who inspired me to write this story by being the model for what became Niki. I kept my promise: nothing “comical” came from it! Thank you for all the trust you had in me. Learning to fly on broken wings Halting between two worlds

Hi there, Let me start with apologizing for a slow reaction. I saw your comment Thursday just before I was to leave for a long range drive from one point in Europe to another point and by the time I got there, I totally forgot. Sorry about that. I admit: I built up Dominic's final moments carefully to increase the tension and when your heart raced, it seems I succeeded in doing that. You are 100% right: this was a rough story, both for the readers but also for the author. Some parts I wrote suppressing gagging, other parts I wrote simply crying, especially where the story touched reality, often quiet recently. But I state it again: if only 1 or 2 people reconsider their attitude towards people with mental illnesses, then I achieved what I wanted to achieve. Thank you for your support during the gradual publication of this story. And on to the next one🙂 . Love Georgie

Hi there, Well, I admit: I had to use all talent to craft the tragic end the way it was written and it costed me several days before I was satisfied. But overall, especially the personal aspect for which I wrote it made it an emotional roller coaster for the author as well. I'm not a religious man, butg despite that I pray, that "my boy" never gets to the point where Dominic got. But I really feel humbled by the last part of your comment! It motivates me to write something new, hopefully outdoing this story, although the idea I have in my head has no personal connection this time. And it has a happy end🙂 Thank you for your support during the gradual publishing of Dance over the Thunderclouds

Thank you...at least you have understood it and that makes you a beautiful, loving and caring person. Love Georgie

By the time the Court released Dominic from forced admission the golden autumn days had become a thing from the past with autumn already moving into the next inclement, windy and rainy phase. The weather was especially bad on the day, that Tobi picked Dominic up from the hospital, but it led to an almost comical aspect. After running from the hospital’s main exit to the car in gushing rain, both stepped in completely soaked to the skin. Dominic didn’t seem to care. But he was annoyed, even

Chapter 5 Trigger
Georgie DHainaut commented on Georgie DHainaut's story chapter in Chapter 5 Trigger
Hi, I had my own share of mental disorders about 40-50 years ago (meaning I had them for 10 continuing years between 16 and 26). My Dutch therapists all failed, but, being from the south of the Netherlands, near the Belgian border, a fantastic Belgian psychiatrist (kind of male Monika Moller, speaking a funny kind of Dutch) managed to get me back on mental track again after my own suicide attempt. But it took over 2 1/2 years of intensive, stationary treatment. My partner only came in my life after that, coincidentally very short after my release, but he built me up bit by bit with an almost inhuman patience to what I am now. When he died about 4 1/2 years ago I really wondered if I had to be grateful for his 36 years of love of for this achievement of making me what I am, actually his greatest gift to me!! And I vowed to do the same for another young kid, who is fighting to pull through...and I found him, "coincidentally" also in Berlin... -
Chapter 5 Trigger

Ouch...this hurts!!!!! That is just what I wanted to avoid: stir up painful memories😢 It is easy to say: don't blame yourself but you will do it anyway. In a way I understand what you feel: it is my biggest fear, that "my boy" does the same and I will feel just as guilty afterwards. Love and hugs Georgie -
Chapter 5 Trigger
Georgie DHainaut commented on Georgie DHainaut's story chapter in Chapter 5 Trigger
Hi there, The second paragraph of your reply says it all!!! I have been living in Germany for 14 years now and before that I was under the assumption, that it was a modern and even progressive country. It was a rude awakening, when I came here. Reality is: - that homosexuality was in the penal code until 1994 (we Dutch scrapped that in 1803 and even the as conservatively labeled British in 1962) - Proper education should be for everyone on paper, but not practically. The richer the parents are, the more chance a kid has to end up on university. - A lot of retired people have to scrounge a living together by small exploitation jobs (what they call mini-jobs over here) or by searching for deposit bottles in public dustbins, because they can't live from their retirement benefits. - The wealthier one is, the more chances are available for proper health care in lots of private clinics (incl. private psychiatric clinics), or a poor sod must be in the way on the public street. - As far as mental health care is concerned: yes, I overdone it to make thinks clear, but "my" really existing "kid" has been waiting for 4 years now for proper psychiatric treatment and only now, when he is exhausted and on the brink of suicide, there seems to be something moving. - 1 out of 5 children lives in poverty as do their parents. - A rough recently published scientific estimate states, that 1 out of 5 German children is sexually abused, but the writers of the report are almost afraid of the possible unknown "dark zone". And every politician bla blas that it must me outrooted, but nobody acts! Not the government, not the city councils and not the direct environment of the children affected. This is just a small list of things, that in my opinion are not as they should have been in a modern European country. Maybe i come up with other things after my first coffee...but I won't bother you with that. But Germany....at heart it has stuck in the fifties, early sixties of the last century. Love Georgie -
Chapter 5 Trigger
Georgie DHainaut commented on Georgie DHainaut's story chapter in Chapter 5 Trigger
Hi, I double checked it: in Germany (where I live) the first period of forced admission is 2 weeks with possible prolongment after consulting with the psychiatrist who is in charge of the person involved. In the Netherlands (my country of origin) it used be 2 weeks as well but after a law change, the law describes a first period of 96 hours. By the way: I promised you a glimpse in Dominic's daily life. This, what you just read, is daily life for him. In everything a potential trigger is hidden, in going to the bakers, in talking a walk in the park, in a phone call or chat, in listening music, a watching tv etc etc and that on a 24/7 basis. More important in your comment is the second part, which I applaud and moves me. Because that is exactly the meaning I had with this story, apart from processing my own experiences with mental disorders, first myself for an odd 40 years ago, now with "my boy" who is still suffering from them. I really love your comment! Love Georgie -
I really appreciate your support and the pretty explicit compliment in it But a number of readers stopped reading after the very first chapter, deeming it "sickening".
