I’d a feeling you’d bring the saga full-circle and you didn’t disappoint. Wonderful to have that brief, heartfelt scene from the first of your characters I fell In love with. Kellan and Reilly had each other’s backs for so many lonely years. Plots and subplots and complications didn’t give them many true moments together after the first half of Spirit Wolves. Understandably, each was focused on their new mates and then much bigger problems. So I’m pleased for this brief echo of the beginning of the sojourn. All three epilogues are strong endings for the different groups. I’m just Sad we didn’t get a good Ben moment here. He’s the one I loved best until Kage and Elijah and Tyler came along. The entire scene in the diner where he reveals he can see supernaturals and prevented Caleb’s assassination perfectly captured why I love him. Yet we all know so many would and do look the other way. Thank you for a multi-year journey through a rich world with lead characters of depth who have such heart and decency and often unexpected bravery, while not forgetting the inherent humor in implausible friends who are both human and not at the same time. Now to figure out how to bring Kage back from the dead for our stormy, brief, doomed personal relationship. My future ex-husband and I will try everything yet fail to make it work. But it’ll be worth the tears. Not to mention the four ways with Ben and Zev. Looking forward to what you create next

Wow. That’s about as perfect and heart-felt an end you could possibly bring to their part of the story. (Assuming they don’t eventually talk you into write more about their lives).

That is my favorite part out of one of the most insightful comments I’ve ever read in this site. I think it perfectly encapsulates why Elijah’s my favorite character in a saga full of great characters. Thank you for your post and to @kbois for bringing it all to life.

Wow! Did your hotel room come with that beautiful cat? I’ll have to plan a trip and stay there.

I was thinking Wyle E. Coyote-style TNT, but firecracker makes sense, too…

Kage wormed his way into many a heart. Easily one of the most interesting and layered characters I’ve enjoyed meeting on this site. Many thanks for all of your time, hard work, mental sweat, talent and willingness to share of yourself. It’s not easy to put your own thoughts out there for the world to either embrace or lambast or both. I’m holding back my final comments on this saga til your last epilogue, but know you have grown as a writer and storyteller through this journey and I’ll always look forward to what you conjure up next. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 and Happy Holidays 🧨! (Edit: Why did Holidays come with a bomb emoji for me? Has autofill been to my family gatherings this year?)

Please get all the rest you need, then! It’s already a stressful time of the year. Add on sickness and more bosses in town and it is no wonder your body’s calling a timeout. We’ll still be here.

While far from an action-packed chapter, this is one of my favorites. I’ve always liked Jeremy as a character, and here we really get to connect with him on a deeper level, behind the grim-humored businessman bravado, even beyond the lustful guy from the trailer. He and Justin really share here. For my money, his advice and perspective for Justin is far, far more valuable than Zero’s ramblings, other characters lectures or the scriptures. It reminds me most of some scenes with Dizz and Dash (albeit in a much creepier setting). Justin also gets some relief that Richie is undead and a reunion with Taryn. Still hard to believe the hospital battle, sulking, fight with Dion, hunt with Trevor and turning Richie happened in one night. No wonder the boy was out for 4 days.

Yet “Taryn’s Song” was the hardest of all your chapters in GFD for me to make it through. Even knowing what transpires in the “future” of the main saga. Those chapters tore me up. A step below ptsd. But maybe that’s my extra kicking in.

Shoot for feeling better, first and foremost. The wolves can wait. So can those of us hounding you

You keep blowing away my expectations in a good way with these images. Keep it coming

And both stories are well worth your time.

Thanks for the heads up. Pesky real world gets in the way again. Good luck

I think Stuart grew tired of his white man name, threw off that shackle and embraced his heritage at long last. His mamá, papá, Tía, and abuela are rightfully proud.

I just re-read a passage of Shadow to double check / shore up details of a theory I have. That led me to another realization. @kbois what happened to Giles’ other first Alpha, Stuart? Is Jorge just a richer idea for a character? Stuart was a bit stern and serious and knew about guardians. Oh, and Corbin stood up for himself to Stuart. That’s about all I can say of him. Don’t really miss him. Just curious.

Just like a fire shifter to let that simmer for months before boiling over.

I meant to bring up one thing about this interchange. How does Enya know? Something she senses? Or just pack gossip. If it’s pack gossip, I’d be stunned if Vann hadn’t heard it already. If it’s something she senses there’s even more interesting qualities to an already interesting character to unpack.

From a structure standpoint, I felt that almost from the start. Doesn’t mean you didn’t make it meaningful. I appreciated Enya’s role, as another abuse survivor, comforting the hybrids. Looking forward to more of her. Theo’s near-expectation of more abuse reflects Ashton’s first thoughts after reuniting with his family. @centexhairysub said it exactly right. And surely some of the parents know of Caleb’s role. Looking forward to more healing, including more of Theo’s recovery. And poor wheelchair-bound Johnny. I’m sure his previous perverted captors didn’t give him a chair. Hope they were also dropped on someone’s doorstep sans tongue, dick and balls.

Yeah. Sure. Dryads. In a @kboisuniverse, that kind of feeling should never be downplayed or forgotten. And it’s rarely good news.

What a wonderful chapter. Others have rightly commented on both the beauty and poetry of some of @kbois descriptions here, and the mystery of the unexpected shadowy twists. Yet It’s this kind of interplay that centers the story and helps us better know four characters we already care about and love. I was also taken by Austin’s gasp at hearing Kage was at work, at Tyler’s false confidence that led to him tripping over the couch as a wolf, and this reassurance helping cement the theme of unity among twins and nearly twins:

Do you have the Blu-ray? I do. I can prove it. ‘Cuz I gotta a bill of sale right here. I gotta bill of saaaaale….. right heeeere. (Ok. Kill me for real, please. I need to put “It’s a Small World” on to bring me some relief)

An all-too-short, yet oh-so-sweet Howl-O’Ween addition to @WolfM’s marvelous “Running With the Pack” saga, picking up, basically, where “Higher Education” wrapped up. That story left a hot, caring good guy loner named Randy not only discovering an unexpected attraction to a guy, but in a fledgling throuple. Oh, and the studs he likes are lycans. Yeah. That’s a real thing. Will Halloween be the right time to take a leap of faith and accept a life-changing love bite?? I’m a cat guy and the ending left me wanting to be a wolf, and left Randy with true companionship of the soul.

Wow. What a beautiful passage. I’m a cat guy and I want to be a wolf now. What a wonderful end. A great guy who was always alone (despite a large group of “friends”) now not only has two of the hottest characters as his partners and lovers, he has a true companion of the soul. Bravo, @WolfM for a short, but sweet episode in the lives of characters so many have come to care about. I realize inspiration just happened to strike for this to be written in time, and that is kismet. But I look forward to the next, hopeful longer chapter in your rich saga. “They” always say “leave ‘em wanting more.” Mission: accomplished and thanks!!
