After popping another Xanax, his second of the day so far, Fred reached into the middle console of his Cadillac Escalade, grabbed the open bottle of Coors Light, and took a swig to wash it down. He slowed as he approached the house on East K Street, the oldest and one of the poorer neighborhoods in Brainerd. The area was rather bleak, an industrial area across the street from a row of weathered wood-framed homes. Slowing to a stop, Freddie looked over to see Elliott emerge from the side doo

Chapter 12 They Can’t Do That, Can They?
JLynch commented on JLynch's story chapter in Chapter 12 They Can’t Do That, Can They?
Haha…had to laugh at that! Woodcock is a name borrowed from the movie, Phantom Thread, starring Daniel Day-Lewis. Apparently, when they were filming the movie, Day-Lewis and the director started joking around about using the name. It stuck—the character’s name is Reynolds Woodcock. The name Peter is mine! -

Ozzie doesn’t really give a shit about the amount of money. After all, he comes from a family of uber wealthy people. It’s all about getting juiced by the attention. I can imagine him edging for hours as he watches the $ adding up. That’s probably why it stinks in his bedroom. -
Exquisitely written, captivating narrative. This is one of the best short pieces I’ve read on GA. I’ll be reading on!

“I dunno, Zoov. I dunno,” Dickie Lee muttered. He had just briefed Zoov on his late night meeting, the previous evening, with Deck. “He go for it or what?” Zoov pressed again. Dickie Lee just glared at him. They finally squared off, Dickie Lee cornering him in his small office late that morning. A washer/dryer sat in the corner, laden in rust and dust. When Zoov’s actually functioned as a house, this was the laundry room. They had gotten together to try to get their arms aro

Chapter 11 A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
JLynch commented on JLynch's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
It’s true The Ghost took care of the weakest sibling but that’s only because he fell right into his lap. He’s an opportunist, above all else. We don’t know if The Ghost or his boss, Clark, care or are thinking about who offed their guy. But, that’s a good question. The more pertinent question (which goes back to your first thought) is “Does The Ghost have a rival buyer? Hmmm. We shall see…or will we? -
Just joshin’ ya, CW!

To paraphrase Jeff Goldblum in The Big Chill, an article (or, in this case, a chapter) shouldn’t take any longer to read than it takes to take an average crap.

Holy smack! Gripping and well written! Great tension throughout. My only reservation is that I would have preferred this 15,000 plus chapter to be broken into three or four shorter chapters. More bite-sized rather than a whole meal.

That’s an apt way to describe Ozzie—as a puzzle. He is just one total erogenous zone, seeking satisfaction wherever possible. He’s Gay, but he’s not going to let that stop him. For sure, he loves the tramp/bad boy persona. -

You are correct about The Ghost. See my response to weinerdog’s comment. As far as Thayer is concerned, “naive” is the operative word. -

It’s unlikely Rome would blackmail Thayer. After all, his goal if for them to become boy friends, not enemies. The Ghost needs to get Louie Lee out of the way. He’s a volatile component in this whole deal, especially once (or if) he sobers up enough to realize he left a whole bunch of money on the table. -
“Ugh!” The alarm had just gone off. 5:30 a.m. Thayer’s eyes opened slowly and then he felt it. Not again! He thought. Morning wood, in the worst way. Normally, that stiff numb feeling felt so good, especially when he wrapped his fingers around his joint. But, after yesterday, the very last thing he wanted to do was jerk-off. He rolled out of bed, his erection tenting out his sleep shorts. When he got to the bathroom, his dick was so stiff, he wasn’t even able to pee. It wasn’t until he

I’m glad. I think you’ll find the reading experience to be worthwhile. Enjoy!

I LOVED that show (age reveal!). Similar to Soap, extramarital affairs, murder, cults, organized crime, and more. We’ll probably leave out alien abduction, demonic possession, kidnapping, unknown diseases, amnesia (provocative idea!), communist revolution, and demonic possession, as well as teacher-student relationships (also a provocative idea!). Overall, I’m flattered by the comparison, good Dr. I hope you readers are finding the narrative compelling. It certainly was a gas to write!

I’m sure all Buellers are related…at some level! I wouldn’t read too much into The Ghost’s observation about Thayer. He’s obviously an attractive/cute teen boy, someone whose good looks could be noticed by a heterosexual man. On the other hand… My technique is to keep reinforcing the physical characteristics of major characters so the reader keeps a mental picture in his/her mind.

Thanks, Chris! ‘Glad you enjoyed it. Lots to unpack here.

It’s kind of a hot mess, isn’t it? Does that make it more fun or just more confusing?

Feeling the rhythmic, almost hypnotic ripple of the tires as they rolled over the seams in the highway, The Ghost struggled to keep his eyes open. When he was fully awake, he was annoyed. The very last thing he wanted to be doing was driving up to that god forsaken lake. Yet again. There had been a break down of some kind. All he knew was that an asset was down. And, he wasn’t even entirely sure of that. This is what he did know—they hadn’t heard from their guy in a couple of days and a new

The possibilities are endless. But, remember, these are rather shy inexperienced teenagers, far from wild. C.O. is totally in the closet and Thayer is just recognizing these feelings. Speculation fuels curiosity. I hope you and others will keep reading. MUCH more to come (or is it cum?).

Lots of good questions here. Stay tuned.

The next day. “I can guarantee you everything is being done to arrest the perpetrators of these crimes,” Gretchen said, her voice full of determination. “Everything,” she repeated with even more emphasis. She listened on for a couple of more minutes before begging off to take another call. Except, there was no other call to take. “Uggghhh!” She growled, head in her hands, elbows on her desk. Jill Benson, one of her best friends, an agent with Lake Realty, had called to tell
