Really? I love me a good cliffhanger, though.... Billy is trying his best to deal with a client who doesn't trust him, and a judge who hates him, while showing bias to the opposing side. He's in a hard place and trying the best he can.
-
Very well thought out. Diego should've pressed Bill more, and yes, an appeal does mean Calvin gets the boys and would like disappear.

I find all the lawyer speak boring to write, and even more so to edit, but you have plenty more coming.

That'll be the hope.

All valid points.

“All rise,” The Court Clerk called out. Diego and Billy were the only ones at their table. The boys had school and Steve had work. “You may be seated,” Judge Arthur said, as he took his seat on the bench. “Welcome back, Judge,” Mr. Clarke said. Diego was disgusted at the amount of ass kissing Calvin's lawyer got away with. “Thank you, Mr. Clarke,” the judge said, signing some documents. “Come to find out, it was a false positive.” Damn, Diego thought, fighting hard to no

Maybe, or at the very least it might not be as severe as Mike is making it out to be. Ultimately, they would've had to move, because of Mike's mom's illness, since the house was sold because they needed the money. It just so happened to happen around the time he was being bullied, so it could've just been a coincidence that he's internalized, which he has a habit of doing. He suffers from low self-esteem and he internalizes a lot of his issues. Mike has not been specific about what he experienced, and we only have his word for it, which isn't reliable. He might give us the actual details, but his reaction to them could likely be blown out of proportion. We don't know if he was beat up, called names and/or just whispered about. Bullying is a spectrum, and we're getting our information from someone who misreads people and situations a lot, especially under stress. I have no doubt that Mike was bullied; I don't think @Arch Hunter would throw that out there and it not be true. However, he's the only one who knows the truth, and he's said that he's letting the characters tell the story, which means he doesn't know either.

There's some potential evidence to support that Liam would look out for Mike, provided Mike was actually honest with Liam. Liam had asked if anyone was messing with Mike, and Mike lied about the small amount of bullying Mike experienced. Liam has been trying to get Mike to hangout with him and his other friends, who might know Liam is gay (they might be gay, themselves, as we assume Olivia and Abi are), but Mike keeps turning him down. Then there was the incident at the mall when Liam yelled at the kid and the boy's father for the kid bumping into Mike. There's been no evidence to support that Liam is afraid of confrontation; if anything, the incident at the mall shows that Liam has a backbone and isn't afraid to speak his mind, even to an adult in public, with a decent chance that Liam was ready to fight the dad to defend Mike.

I think you're over thinking my comment, and we also don't know that Liam is in the closet. We're getting everything from Mike's point of view and he's an unreliable narrator. He's very oblivious, poor at reading people--especially Liam--poor at reading situations, and over analyzes situations, while being completely off the mark and blowing situations out of proportion. There are plenty of examples starting in the first chapter to support that we can't take Mike at his word, so we actually don't know for certain what the real cause of him moving or the true extent of the bullying was. As for Liam, we've all guessed that Olivia wasn't his girlfriend, that she knows that Liam is into Mike, that the date at the mall was a double date coupling Mike & Liam and Olivia & Abi, and as stated in this chapter, Liam has been dropping hints that Mike hasn't been picking up, such as Liam telling Mike he has a nice cock. There's also no evidence one way or the other to assume that Liam's parents don't know he's gay; in fact, it could be one the "secrets" the twins threatened him with, that Liam himself said wouldn't work on him. Mike is far more likely to be too wrapped up in his own head to even notice that Liam isn't in the closet. And so what if Liam is? It doesn't mean that he has to come out to the whole of society now that he's with Mike. Mike hasn't come out, either. They could keep everything to themselves, come out to a few trusting people in their lives until they find a community that'll support them and their relationship. Again, my comment was just about the relationship between Mike and Liam, particularly since they started having sex, and how lucky Mike was to find someone who wants to look out for him and still tickle that kink that Mike seems to really like.

Just read it for the second time, and love how bold Liam is being. Knowing that he's also kind, caring and attentive towards Mike, it makes his assertiveness that much more hotter. Mike is very lucky.

Of course, you'd release this when I'm at work, again! 😆 I love it. I decided to enhance the mood at the beginning by listening to "Kiss Me Softly" by Journey. Luckily, I'm a slow reader, so the song finished just as Mike and Liam were. I love how things are progressing, and despite how Dom/sub Liam and Mike are (respectively), Mike still has enough agency and will to want to do his own thing, even if Liam doesn't like it. I'm also glad that Liam wasn't too hurt or bothered by Mike wanting to spend time with the twins. @Arch Hunter, you're a great writer and this is just another perfect example.

I don't think I've mentioned this before (or at least in a long time), but Washington isn't set in any specific state (similar to Springfield in The Simpsons). When I visualize where this setting takes place, it's somewhere near eastern Colorado before the state climbs into the Rockies, but maybe in the foothills or somethings, while also not being in Colorado. In the trilogy that precedes this story, I have mentioned that it's kind of close to Nebraska (within reasonable driving distance of Omaha. With that said, Florida laws wouldn't apply, especially as I try to avoid anything Florida. As for Calvin and Ashley, more will become clear soon, especially in the coming weeks, provided people don't rage quit next Saturday.

That's a really good question, but the answer could me one, the other or both...we'll just have to see what happens.... Perhaps, but also keep in mind the conversation between Diego and Bryan about Calvin. Calvin will say or do anything in front of a woman to make himself seem more impressive. As for Calvin Sr....
-
Can we really know if Ashley is important to Calvin? If Calvin is a sociopath, then how he acts can always be a show and/or form of manipulation. Remember the things Diego told Bryan about Calvin and how Calvin behaves. Unfortunately, the Judge Crusty Pants makes a return in the next chapter....
-
I guess we'll have to wait to find out....
-
Judge Arthur called in sick for the rest of the week after testing positive for Covid, which meant that everyone in Court that day also had to get tested, as well. Bryan hoped he was positive, but alas, he like the rest of the family and Billy, was negative. Diego was pro-vaccine, so Bryan knew the odds were slim; however, a negative test result meant that another visit with Calvin was going to happen. Being grounded sucked. The only silver lining was Kenny coming over every day as part of

Just read it a second time (I'm sure I'll be rereading it more), and I love how caring and attentive Liam is now. He started off being resentful and bitter, and now, he wants to take care of Mike and put him first. The kiss is still amazing to read, and I hope Liam will help Mike out this time...and cuddle after. I mean, the rents won't be back for 2 hours, and Mike was told to take it easy. 😏

@Arch Hunter I hope you don't mind that I'm currently looking for Chapter 6. I can't seem to find it anywhere....
