  1. I had to pick some of the worst people on earth. Mob guys, dictators, mothers-in-law. No, wait, scratch that last one.
  2. I’ll tell you, I didn’t know a lot of the story at this point.
  3. Ned will be answered in chapter 2. But Mark was really just because he confronted Ned. In hindsight, a pretty severe penalty for the infraction.
  4. Why indeed? Getting a broken leg would be getting off easy.
  5. As long as it was just placing one foot, I’d do it for a few million.
  6. Dang, now I need to change the whole rest of the story.
  7. So, I took my experience with snappy comebacks and turned it into a career. I became a stand-up comedian. The first year or so after college, my business administration degree didn't work out too well for me. So, I performed at local clubs; having moved from New Jersey to New York, there were plenty of clubs to choose from. I made a living, but knew I'd never get on the comedy channel. Then one night I was at a club that I was a semi-regular at. I started my routine and everything felt different
  8. I’m Prentiss Plummer, and I will always remember the first day of second grade. Not that they’re pleasant memories. Mark Dent made sure of that. No sooner than did the teacher, Ms. Spain call out my name, Mark had a comment. It was quite lame, but that’s to be expected from seven-year-old boys. Quietly, to his desk-mate, but loud enough for me to hear, he lifted his feet, and said, “Lift your feet, Timmy, there’s pee-pee right next to me.” And my nickname was born. It wasn’t until seve
  9. Prentiss was a small-time comedian. This was probably pre-ordained since maybe second grade. His name guaranteed he would need to become a master of quick comebacks. Prentiss Plummer left itself wide open for all manner of pee-pee and plumber jokes. But something happened and he was no longer small-time. Then, after a few weeks of Las Vegas shows, he couldn’t give tickets away. And then, things got weird.

    Chapter 33 S2

You confused me for a second because Pops transitioned into the bear. I thought maybe I missed something. So if we want spoilers about the football game we should check CSU’s schedule from last season? 😀 Another nice, relatively calm chapter. I just know something had to go south soon. Let’s just hope it’s south to Arizona and not Antarctica. 😛
  11. Grazie mille!
  12. I have a question. My entry is looking a little slim so far. Are the chapter and author’s notes included in the word count? I’m still working it, so I hope to break the thousand word mark, but just in case…
  13. No worries. I’m not sure I have any sanity left. I once saw a t-shirt, I don’t suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it.

    Chapter 32 S2

Nice calm chapter. I’m waiting for the bottom to fall out.
  15. Very true, and this becomes more wvident at time goes on. Cool. Yeah, would have been an interesting addition. True You got me. I forgot to mention the snacks. 😀 Hmmmm, could be.
  16. Glad you enjoyed it. I think had I focused more on the abuse, it would have lessened the impact.
  17. TBH, I was envisioning it as emotional torment for Abel. He was faced with what he did and broke down. I didn't intend it as a sneaky way to get the death penalty removed, but that it really bothered him. I'd call it a despicable tie. Too real, huh? Thank you.
  18. Okay, I give. Nick will return. Obviously with cameos, at least, for the other main characters.
  19. I will revert to my musically based responses. Thank you Roy Orbison. Anything you want, you got it.
  20. Excellent idea. Other than the anthology, I haven’t come up with another idea yet. This could work.
  21. Nothing’s perfect in life, so mostly HEA works for me.
  22. Thanks. I usually do try to do that.
