Um, that story won’t be mine. Really!

    Thanks, you’re welcome, congrats. I’m actually coming up on my 3-year anniversary here, July 14th. I probably haven’t read nearly enough of your stuff, but I can make a pretty long list of authors that applies to. Always enjoyable though.

I was flying my private plane, a Cessna 182 Skylane, from Cheyenne Regional Airport, WY to Spokane International Airport, WA on Sunday July 27th, 2025 to attend a meeting the next day.     This one comes from Prompt #71. Write a short story featuring only one character. No secondary characters at all. You might drop them in the woods and see how they fare, or come up with your own idea, but only one character is allowed. Fraser Vogel knew it was dangerous to parachute in high winds. He wasn’t left with too many options in his Cessna 182 Skylane when its yoke seized and the engine failed. Jump or crash? Pretty easy choice.

    I just started reading this one and jumped ahead from chapter 4 to see if chapter 71 was the last but it simply didn’t get marked completed. I know you know this Ben, but having completed “Sneak Away” for the Comicality tribute last year, I’m considering doing the same for another; I believe there’s another kind of tribute planned. This one might be too long to finish quickly, still having 60+ chapters to go, I don’t know where it leads. Anyway, just thought I’d mention my thoughts.

    I hesitated reading this one because I didn’t think I was going to like the topic. So, don’t let that stop you from reading it either. The first two chapters are mostly setup. But after that it’s a “hold on to your hats, this going to be one hell of a ride.” So, get off the title page and start reading, you’ll be glad you did. I know I am.
