-- Chapter Twenty-one -- One quiet afternoon in November, Toby came over after school. He was growing up so fast, and was really filling out his blue school shirt and grey shorts these days; I could only hope that he was being careful, because in this town, good-looking teens could easily attract unwarranted attention – especially those who might not be as wise about the world around them as others. It was just the two of us on the back verandah, watching some vibrantly-coloured

@Ivor Slipper no, not this lad, but he will be a main character in the next one. Traditions is set in 2019 / 2020. The next story is called Out of the Blue (actually set in 2017) and is the follow on from A Good Place (actually set in 2011). It took a bit of jigging about to get everything to line up! lol You might be thinking of Aaron's kid brother, Zack, in A Good Place

@Summerabbacat it's the Oxley Highway that runs between Walcha and Wauchope. And it's Thunderbolts Way that runs Walcha - Gloucester - Newcastle.

"While this one appears to be winding down; I am sure there will be another coming around the bend." @centexhairysub oh, absolutely! And it will answer some of the questions already raised here.

Fantasy Glades was at Port Macquarie I think. It even had a Snow White and the Seven Dwarves cottage, if I remember correctly. Yeah, Timbertown was at Wauchope. I was there on the weekend actually ... it was all sold off last year some time.

@Summerabbacat works for me! I can see Trinity doing a Shirley and Liza tribute show! Oh, and I heard the other day that the Big Bannana has been moved . . . or is going to be moved, or something! All those places I visited as a kid . . . Fantasy Glades, the Big Bannana, even Timbertown ... all gone or going! What's becoming of this world! Boo-hoo! BTW ... that song is EPIC! I love it!

@dboggs9700 well, the whole thing about these Thompsonville stories is that they are mostly linked together in one way or another, so even if a story does get wrapped up, you will most likely pick up the threads in another one. It's always a conundrum as to when exactly I wrap one up, but sometimes I just get to a point where that just seems right!

-- Chapter Twenty -- Before we knew it, the night of Trinity de la Creme and the Sisters of Divine Disgrace finally arrived in Macquarie Harbour, and of course everything went to hell! One of the performers was running forty minutes late, stuck in traffic on the highway. What was even worse, the missing performer was also bringing the main trunk with half the show’s costumes and props. Panic levels were rising fast. Backstage was pure chaos. Feathers, sequins, and stressed-out que

I was in my teens, and Dad and I used to piss ourselves laughing, while Mum (a very straight Catholic) would be disgusted! There was also Benny Hill and Dick Emery ... Benny was OK, but I wasn't a fan of Dick ... or at least that Dick! LOL

Aaahhh the memories... She said, "No way, I'm hangin round till Gum leaves. Besides, I don't wanna leave Jack around a party on his own Have you seen him? I think he's trying to crack on to Wumba; he's already tried to mount Isa And he'll definitely try to lead you astray, Liana!" 'Australiana' lyrics by Austen Tayshus (1983) 🤣🤣🤣

-- Chapter Nineteen -- And so, the strange adventure that 2020 had become, just kept getting stranger. But for the first time in months, it felt like we were all finally rolling along with it. Leo and Trish pulled up a couple of minutes later, after Kevin had managed to call Pippa, and so it wasn’t difficult to convince Kevin’s family to stay for one more coffee. I gave my parents a call and they came around shortly afterwards. The party rolled on. In the back yard of our ho

I guess I'm lucky then that I usually only get knocked for six for about 24 hours then!

I had it twice, but I was sicker from the vaccinations than from the disease itself ... they hit me like a fecking garbage truck! Only lasted 24 hours or so and with a few Panadol after that I was able to soldier on. I was concerned about catching it though ... as I have a few health issues I need to be careful with.

Haha @Summerabbacat I was probably thinking more along the lines of Mr Humphries in Are You Being Served! lol We still see people wearing masks up here ... and I occasionally wear one if I suspect I'm a bit fluey or something ... MP
