The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital ward the following day, wrapped in bandages, with tubes sticking into me everywhere and with my family all around me, their faces anxious with worry. I had one hell of a headache, my chest ached, and I was finding it difficult to breathe thanks to what was apparently a broken rib. I even had bruises and aches in places that I didn’t even know I had. My family were very quiet and wouldn’t say too much, apart from the standard ‘We’r

I do use my smartphone for calls and texts, as it's my only means of communicating with quite a few folks really. The main thing I use it for though is as my internet connection ... can't handle use the internet on the phone much, but I just tether my PC to it. Works fairly weel, good enough to do mosy stuff, including streaming videos etc. I just have to watch my usage as I don't have unlimited downloads. MP

Nailed it! lol

Totally agree with everything you've said. It's a tough road for any young gay person!

I hate the bloody things ... but we can't live without them these days! lol

There are many of us who felt that way ... and many who still feel that way. In my books, everyone has a right to deal with their coming out in their own way ... that's assuming of course they even want to ... and if they don't, then that's fine too. Around here there are still people who have the same fears, but I think the tide is beginning to turn, thankfully. MP

Originally written and set around 1999/2000, so yes, mobiles were only starting to become accepted around that time. Think I got my first phone in '96. MP

As much as we all despise it, abuse is still a fact of life. The main thing is that the victims need to know it's not their fault and that there are always people out there who will help! MP

‘Just leave them alone, they’re both still asleep,’ I heard him say to Hoss just outside the tent, then I heard them both walk away, their feet scrunching on the gravel road outside. After breathing a huge sigh of relief, yet with my head and my guts feeling like they were currently spinning out of control, I leaned over and shook the sleeping figure of my partner by the shoulder, who slowly came to life. It felt like my whole world was gradually falling apart, with one by one everybod

Hi @Anton_Cloche thank you for the comment. This is an older story, originally posted on Nifty almost 25 years ago, so if you frequented that site, or even my own site ( dubdubdub dot ponyboysplace dot com ) you may well have read this previously. Even if you have, I hope you enjoy it a second time around! And is that a black Commodore? Matt's looking for his! lol Thanks, Mark

My apologies. All should now be resolved! MP

Authors Note: My apologies dear readers ... apparently I posted this chapter as Chapter 2 last week, so if you are feeling a touch of de ja vu, that is the reason. This is the correct Chapter 3. Chapter 2 has also now been updated. Please enjoy! The sun. The sand. The company. The parties. The freedom. For the few days that we stayed on the Gold Coast, it was all just fabulous. But it was also all too brief. Matt and I had made our plans, and they were to spend a couple of da

Wow! It feels odd knowing that there are folks out there who know these places! LOL Yes, I know about the pronunciation, though I was originally told Lake Cat-eye! (close enough though!). It was where I saw my first nekkid man! (haha!) Haven't been back there since my teens though. Need to do that one of these days. It would be interesting to see what it's like now! MP

Thank you @Summerabbacat ... I'm glad I could take you back to those times. Sounds like we are about the same age ... I finished Year 12 in '81, then started full time work in '82. Schoolies, as I recall, was in its infancy back then. I know some of my classmates went, but not me or any of my close friends. Last time I went to the GC would have been late 80's I think. T'ville is loosely based on a town called Lake Cathie, while Mac Harbour is a mash-up of Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour ... all places I visited quite a few times in my youth. Hope you enjoy the rest of these stories. Thank you!

Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the entire journey for Matt and Luke and their friends ... there are actually 5 stories in this series (so far! lol) which will all be posted here -- though they are also available elsewhere. Mark

AUTHORS NOTE: Dear Readers. My apologies ... apparently I mixed up Chapters 2 and 3 and originally posted Ch 3 here instead. All now resolved! Please enjoy! So what happened next, you ask? Well, you will be pleased to know that later that same afternoon, after we had left the gang at the Centre Café and returned to Matt’s place, we finally did it. It was wonderful and exciting and it was everything that I had ever hoped it would be. It was quite late in the afternoo

Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to sharing my stories here. 🙂

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I had the same feelings when working on the edits ... it was like pulling on a comfortable old sweater as I settled back in with these characters. Mark

Hi there! No, you are right. We haven't met before. My name is Luke. Luke Solomon. And I would like to tell you a little tale. Well, actually, it's not so much a little tale. More like a true romance really, but I think you will like it. Now, as you would probably be aware, in most societies there is a ritual that takes place towards the end of a student’s high school years which, depending on the country you live in, is called a social or a prom or a formal, amongst other names.

Best friends, Luke and Matt, have been inseparable since primary school and now, after twelve long years of schooling, the end of those school years are finally within sight. All that is left to do is make it through the night of the school formal, before starting their final exams. So what will the night bring for the boys and their group of friends? What secrets are about to be exposed? How will they, their families and their friends all react to the events that are about to unfold? And what will they discover about themselves . . . about each other . . . and about life?

Hi Marty. AWD appears first as it was just the first story I wrote. I'll have to check, but I don't think Justin was with Scott in AWD, so that's why it came second 😀

Thank you very much BB. So glad you liked it. And yes, I will start posting my other stories here soon. PS ... I love your profile pic 😀
