  1. Love using YouTube to listen to all sorts of music, not to mention LGBTQ short films! So much crap on tv these days YouTube is so much more fun. lol
  2. Thank you so much. I have to admit that the 'sad' response was a bit of a surprise, but I can understand where you were coming from. Got to admit that I do love my country! I have a couple of the Trio albums. Saw Dolly in concert with Kenny (saw Kenny four times in fact). Garth Brooks, Highwaymen, Glen Campbell, Tim McGraw and a host of others! I hope you enjoy the rest of the stories in the series!
  3. Thank you. And yes, there may have been a few loose ends that didn't get totally cleaned up, but hey can sometimes be the foundation on which the next installments can be written! Hope you enjoy the rest of the series!
  4. Thank you so much!
  5. Thank you! So glad you have enjoyed it!
  6. Thank you! Happy tears are always good!
  7. Thank you so much. Hopefully one of these days Matt and Luke will be able to take that step!
  8. Thank you, Ivor.
  9. When we returned to our camp it was later in the afternoon than we had thought and the sun wasn’t very far above the mountainous horizon. ‘How about you get the fire going again and I’ll see if I can catch something,’ Matt said as I dropped our bag of fruit onto the ground beside the tent. ‘Sounds okay,’ I answered. ‘But I really wanted to see you reel in the big one.’ ‘Light the fire and then come down to the river,’ Matt said. ‘I can do that.’ He retrieved his fishing
  10. Thank you.
  11. That has been suggested, Ivor, but it's not a path I've explored as yet. The idea has now been lodged in my brain, however, and the cogs are turning. Watch this space!
  12. Most unfortunate about those allergies acting up. I'm sure there is some stuff you can get from the chemist that might help. May I suggest you get some before the next chapter get posted? And yes, Beyond Salvation will eventually get posted here. I'm working on all the stories in this series first though.
  13. With the weight of the world now lifted from our shoulders, the rest of the week simply flew by. We had all noticed the change that had taken place among us, which was nothing short of amazing. The inner light, which now illuminated not only Matt and his parents but my own parents as well, was shining out for all to see. With only one exception, things were finally as they should be. I could only hope that the joy would last, as I still felt as if there was a shadow hanging over
  14. All will be revealed ... eventually ...
  15. Thank you Geron. T'ville is fictional, but based on a place I visited in my early teens. I've built a whole story series around these guys and this little town Enjoy! MP
  16. All locations are fictional, but are based on actual places I visited in my youth 🙂 Macquarie Harbour is a mash up of the cities Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. Thompsonville is loosely based on a place called Lake Cathie. All of these are located a few hours from where I live.
  17. @Al Norris is your definition of prawns and shrimp based on the different sized species? When we say 'prawns' they may be the small School Prawns (your 'shrimp' I think) or King Prawns (the larger version) ... or is there something else I'm missing?
  18. Note sure I've heard the term Peace Bond here. I did use the term Good Behaviour Bond a few times, which is where a conviction may be recorded but the judge will set a period of good behaviour rather than incarcerate someone. As for barbecue, BBQ, barbie, I guess they all cover the same type of event, usually steaks, sausages, chops etc ... though other foods (prawns, chickens etc) may sometimes be cooked up, depending on family tastes. No real distinction between regions in the use of any of those terms... at least as far as I'm aware. Hope that is of some help. MP
  19. We all piled into Matt's car at about nine thirty after we had showered and had breakfast, armed with our maps of the town and the university campus; along with our towels, as requested by our friends. I had to admit that Matt and I were both more than a bit curious about this special place that we were going to visit at some stage today, but in spite of our constant probing and digging we were still none the wiser. Tim and Guy were steadfast in their refusal to divulge their little secret.
  20. Thank you for your very kind words! MP
  21. Thank you for your very kind words. And you were pretty close with the Southern Cross / Southern Star comparison. It's all fictional but had to be based (however loosely) on something real ... just like Macquarie Harbour is a fictional mash-up of two cities from that region. 🙂 MP
  22. ‘So, what’s that you’ve got there?’ Matt asked me the next day, after we had just watched DJ slouch his way along the driveway and disappear from view. We were walking back into the garage ourselves. ‘What?’ I answered. He motioned towards what I was holding in my hand, the information sheets and application forms from the Southern Star University web site, which I had printed off earlier in the day while Matt and DJ had been working on the car. I handed the sheets of paper to Mat
  23. Or maybe seeing as Phil and Candice are few years older than the others they were high school sweethearts... she the trophy girlfriend to the high school stud and they've both now finally realised they weren't supposed to end up together after all? 😀
  24. Let's just say that Matt has had enough of schoolin' for now. 😀
  25. Nailed it. LOL
