Stanyear 4389 Marc Alexander-Knight Forty-eight years ago today, I started my life in space with a shuttle certification flight. Hoping to someday own a mining vessel. Now I stood looking down across the valleys and river winding through the village below us on the planet Haven of the system Haven, in the Unknown Sector. 7 years ago, due to the number of incoming immigrants and local population births, I had approved the reuse of the mounts as we called them. Some of the mountains po

Marc Alexander-Knight Battleship Mining Vessel Bear Claws I turned to look at the screens behind me. We are finished here. My eyes flicking from one to another and back again. I smiled as I turned back to the HoloTable. “Niko. Take the fleet home, please.” “Homeward bound. Aye Sa” He said cheerfully as he gave the orders. The Bear Claws Wing as well as several other groups of ships around the region began to move. Everything settled down two months ago, and we charged forward with ch

I sat back after my speech to the military forces under my control, and my mind wandered. Thoughts of the past had resurfaced as I planned this. Standing, I walked across the cabin to my floor to ceiling armorplas viewports. The armored shutters were up, giving me a nice view out over the stern and of the planet below. Taking a slow, long breath, then exhaled it the same way before I turned and headed for the Command Center. I walked in and stood in front of the HoloTable, looking over the vario

Hunter We have just finished two weeks of training with Captain Wynn of the Black Haven. Consisting of spending an hour or two every day going over theory, then using the simulations and actual practice with Stalker. He did a very nice job of explaining what our ship is for and how to use it. We even did a few overnights running operations in concert with Black Haven. We were sneaking around several sectors, charting ships and their locations as well as probable base locations. We were also

The Beach Episode (Because Apparently That’s Required)
P. E. Knapp commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in The Beach Episode (Because Apparently That’s Required)
The life of teens. I still remember those days. Hormones red lining constantly. Decisions made in the heat of the moment. Regrets for not realizing what was right in front of me while I played with the shiny new toy. Oh yeah this is just getting interesting! @Jeff Burton for posting this great story!- 48 comments

It’s been two months since I proposed to Randy and he accepted. We are coming up on the Inn season. Slowly starting in April and building up to full steam in June. To continue up until the end of October before we drop off for the winter months. Multiple ideas have been passed about the wedding. My mom even made a few suggestions. Very happy that Randy was making an honest man out of me. Which made both of us laugh. Jules has been very loving towards us since Randy placed his necklace around his

Saw this pop up and had to look at my calendar. Well played @Mark Arbour as I am sure this is just Act I... Besides I need to go to the store; I'm out of popcorn.

It only took me two days to clear my schedule enough that Adam and I could hop out for the Change of Command aboard the Stalker. Adam was pushing the Puddle Jumper hard to get us there on time and we had company. General Peters came with us as well as Lucas. Faith, Elijah and Joachim would meet us there, possibly Jasmine as well. I was still working in the cabin when we arrived at the Unknown Sector. Adam Comm’d down. “We're going to be late, Marc.” I sighed. “Best made plans rarely surviv

Jules came to me to let me know that rumor around town is there was a big fight at one of the Inns in town. Both people were arrested, one was providing explicit content on the internet. Illegally. It only took me two seconds to guess who that might have been. Hugging Jules as I kissed him in thanks for telling me so I could tell Randy. Which I did ten minutes later as I held him in my arms. “Now what do we do?” He asked. “Now you wait and see if the police come to ask you questions

Marc Alexander-Knight: Serenity Base It didn’t take Commander Kaufman long to pick the officers, and the Admiralty notified them of their new duty station. Hunter has been notified. Adam and I had another talk about Martin and Hunter. It appears Anna has drifted away. Adam and I had agreed that it was good, as we weren’t very impressed with the girl anyway. Now Martin Kaufman, on the other hand, we were impressed with. I worked out the timings for our departure to the Unknown Sector

Maverick It has been a rough few weeks since we adjusted to operational status with the Inn. Lionel has done an excellent job of finding our market and the specialist market for the polyamorous triads. Apparently, there is a larger market for that than I thought when I went with the new bedding. Specifically, the Wyoming King, large enough for three people, as it is wider than a standard king bed. That means we have our specialized table too. They are round and seat three for a roman

Hunter: Bridge of Dagger We could watch as the ships disappeared from the holotable to be marked as destroyed. “Captain. There is no way he moved from the freighter to the destroyers that fast. Unless. It’s more than one ship?” My Executive Officer asked. “I am not sure. We see the Flash on the inside, but would we see the Flash from the outside?” Everyone looked at me. I looked around and everyone had a blank face. Father keeps his secrets. Well, it works. “Possibly a St

Remember the old BAC 111's. Talk about sardine can. Or as my neighbor down the street called it. British Airways Overly Cramped. Or the Lockheed 10-11's. Cargo doors blowing out. I rarely fly now days as I am both disgusted with the service, which there isn't anymore, and I no longer have need. but don't worry about the aircraft. When it's my time, it's my time. But I still hate having to run from one end of the terminal to another, because I landed in A and need to be in C, up in Chicago. My 5k running days are past. Plus, I am certain the construction, on the runways, I saw up there in 2019 was the same construction that I saw back the last time I flew through in 1995. Kansas City used to scare the hell out of me because I swear the engines were reversed before the bird touched down. Plus, the high winds. Felt like I was on a C-130 Combat landing. Pittsburgh always made me feel like I was in a cave. Vancouver, in 2019 when I flew outbound, has a separate area for US Citizens to cross through customs and board a flight as if it were domestic. Which worked out well as I had to connect in Chicago again. and do the terminal 5k dash to my next flight.

@frosenblum Thanks... and yes. I had to pull my fingers out of the keyboard quicksand. That happened because I rewrote that line and missed dropping the n't...

Yes, Randy has a say with the Inn and restaurant. Props vs jets: I've done both. Lot's back in the early 90's through the early 2000's. Personally I prefer rear mounted jet engines. Think the old McDonald-Douglas series. MD-80's, MD-90's, Boeing 717- Which was a MD design they produced after the buyout. Props have their uses and have enjoyed them too. Modern props have come a long way with noise abatement and are more economical to fly. Hence why I chose Provincetown airport with its short runway. It cuts out most of the competition. Plus, there are very few jets, only two I was able to find, that could land on that runway and possibly make a profit.

LOL. Ah no. No murders here. The story is lacking details and moving too fast. It was actually written for something else. I changed a few names and decided to drop it as is instead of adding the extra fluff to fill it out more and slow it down. I also have a habit of bringing in many characters to solve my writing problems. That's basically what's happened here. It doesn't help that I have another story that I have been concentrating on, and I am not giving everything else the true time it deserves. And I have a big problem with info-dumping! For that I apologize! There are only two more chapters to this story. Also. Any of the Thatcher Family or Kent Ocean's mentions are from another story that has not been posted anywhere as of yet. Which may explain the info dump of character names in the last paragraphs.

Hunter: Bridge ANS Dagger We had departed our mooring area rather quickly heading out to the Jump area and received our Jump orders direct from the Battleship. Preparing and just about ready to Jump when I almost jumped out of my seat as Father’s commanding voice blasted out across the Bridge after a set of tones I never heard before. “Attention Bear Claws Wing. Set Jump Rider positions. Standby for Spatial Shift in 20 minutes. House Actual out.” Said my father. I turned to Lt
