  1. All in good time … that‘s what the whole story is about 🤫
  2. Thanks a lot… must be the world famous German humor that shines through here
  3. Gabriel is just very confused and conflicted, can‘t understand what he feels. Some guys can be completely irrational in situations like this and make stuff up to justify their behaviour for themselves. It doesn’t really mean Ray is dangerous (or is he?) The story of the wolves and why they have trouble shifting is coming up soon.
  4. That would complicate things, right? Create totally unnecessary drama? … Hmmm… I‘m sure I‘ve planned it this way all along 🤔
  5. The snowmobile howled across the frozen landscape. Ray clung to Brynjar’s back for dear life, the wind biting through every seam in his borrowed coat. His teeth chattered, more from nerves than cold. He tried to talk — more than once — but every time he opened his mouth, the machine roared louder, devouring his words like snowflakes in a blizzard. “I said—” ROOOOOAAARRRRR. “Forget it.” Clearly, dude was not the talkative kind. Ray slumped, breath fogging against Brynjar’
  6. Thank you, @Rafy for pointing out inconsistencies where it seemed like the vampire was breathing before Ray gave him some blood. I‘ve fixed it. On that note, let’s not think about how a Vampire can speak or smell anyway without breathing…🤷‍♂️
  7. All good questions. Who or what Ray is will be answered (much) later. The Vampire is very definitely alive and … hey, this is a RomCom (even if it’s not that clear yet)
  8. The “Caveman“ question will be answered in the coming chapter (unless I digress too much… 🤷‍♂️)
  9. Spoiler alert: It won‘t be just this one vampire …
  10. The moon put a spotlight on the vampire’s fangs — perfect, gleaming, and far too close. Ray’s breath hitched. His body froze, and his mind raced. Move, move, move... but his legs refused to listen. His chest felt tight, as if the air itself had turned solid in his throat — cold and sharp, scraping the inside of his lungs with each shallow breath. The vampire’s smirk stretched — lazy, indulgent, like a cat cornering a wounded mouse. "Wolfie isn’t coming." Ray's eyes shot to th
  11. This chapter was surprisingly hard to write. Maybe I could have condensed it a little, but in the end I just wanted to finally publish it... I'm happy that the two things that I added last, when I was really not happy with the whole thing (too mechanical), are actually the things you mention... Thanks for sticking with the story and always commenting, it helps and inspires me so much ("sniff his butt" for example came from one of your comments on BigPaws )
  12. Pain struck the chamber like a lightning bolt — sharp, blistering, impossible to ignore. Jacques’ muscles spasmed, his breath stuttering as fresh bruises bloomed across his skin. The guests shuddered in unison, their gasps rising like a twisted chorus as they felt his suffering yet remained unmarked. The air clung heavy and foul — sweat, lust, and stale wine mingling in a sickly haze. Skin gleamed under flickering candlelight, damp with heat and tension, as if the walls themselves were sweating.
  13. If anything, that’s exactly the reaction I’m hoping for with this story 😜🥳
  14. @Jason Rimbaud Every decent shifter will gasp in shock at your use of the word “werewolf” … Seriously, there’s a whole world of “shifter” stories out there now, I recommend “Morningstar. The Malais”, “Timber Pack Chronicles”, “Running with the Pack”, “A full Moon” and several others on this site alone . All more or less “shifter” stories following very similar patterns … true mates etc. I love them. I will follow several of these pattern and put a RomCom on top of it. Who knows, it just might work 🤔
  15. I swear I (mostly) have an outline, but I‘m always surprised about all the odd stuff that sneaks in into my carefully laid out plans. Basically the plan is to be „different“… which unfortunately is very much not the same as polished and consistent 🤷‍♂️ This is the one story I solely write for my own enjoyment 😱 The title will become clear at around a third of the way in (prove that I have a rough plan)
  16. It’s surprisingly hard to write, as it’ll be quite intense. But it‘s coming soon, I promise 🤷‍♂️
  17. The cold hit Ray like the slap from a furious ex. He stepped outside the cave, wincing as icy air cut through his clothes. The world was still blanketed in snow, but the sky had cleared—pale sunlight filtering through gray clouds. The wind had calmed, and the silence was less menacing than before. Still cold as hell, though. Ray rubbed his arms and glanced back at the wolf, who padded out beside him. The animal stretched like an athlete, lowering his front half to the ground and pushin
  18. While "Drag Queens" add some color to this story, in the end it's just a nice comedy. Like all good stories, it's about the people, not the make-up
  19. Ray yawned and stretched, feeling the best he had ever felt for as long as he could remember. Which admittedly was only since yesterday. Remnants of warmth from the burned down fire still clung to his body, the aches from running for his life had dulled to something almost bearable, and for a blissful moment, everything felt… peaceful. Then he noticed the weight against his back. And the paws. His body stiffened. Slow, even breathing ghosted against the back of his neck. Paws, not
  20. I have, of course, absolutely no idea what you mean by this. What would that look like? No idea how that should propel the story forward (cough, cough …)
  21. As the chapter title indicates, I had planned to do the whole thing as one chapter, but it got just too long and I seriously struggled with this one. There’s just too much going on here and yet not nearly enough (eh. character development) Anyway, the really dark, heavy stuff is still coming. Cheers
  22. The ritual chamber was a vision of decadent indulgence, an intimate sanctum where the air was thick with a heady aroma of fragrant incense. Soft torchlight flickered against the gilded reliefs of ancient figures adorning the walls, their expressions frozen in the throes of pleasure and pain. At the center of the chamber, a low circular platform awaited its participants, surrounded by a semicircle of luxurious recliners, each upholstered in deep crimson velvet. The arrangement was reminiscent of

Let's ask ChatGPT if Jamaica wasn't the larger sugar producer during the renaissance. Answer: Yes, Jamaica became a major sugar producer, but this happened mainly after the English took control from Spain in 1655 and even more so in the late 17th and 18th centuries. During the Renaissance (before 1655), sugar production in Jamaica was not as developed as in Barbados, which had already established large-scale sugar plantations by the 1640s. At least some points go to Rafy! (If you believe ChatGPT.)

@Rafy is always complaining when I start to question details in a story... See! I'm not the only one paying attention to those pesky things... 😘
  25. The original chapter was almost 50% longer, Ray like a melodramatic teenager. My problem here is, that he‘s close to death/freezing and can‘t think straight … I left in as much humor as I dared. Next chapter he‘ll be fine …
