  1. Thanks Paul. I would like to thank Jan for editing and Gary for beta-reading. I would also like to thank Sacha for advice. I would also like to thank C James, Graeme, Joe, and BeaStKid for their fantasitic efforts as well as anyone else who worked behind the scenes on my story.
  2. We all want more! That's the whole idea of evil cliffhangers. I'm just wondering what's going to happen with the demon lord. He's been mentioned a few times. That is definitely foreshadowing. I really want to see what that's all about.
  3. I just read it. I really like the story. Sometimes people are afraid to stand up for what's right. I wish that wasn't the case. We all need heroes like Daryl in the world, because too often gay teens pay the price for being who they are. Great work, Myk!
  4. I certainly enjoyed the chapter. Oh, I think there's love in the air. It's so sweet. I think Cody and Joe are perfect for each other, at least after Cody gets his s**t together. Oh, I am glad Cody is finally getting down to business in therapy. He really needs to clean out his closet. I also had to pull a quote, because I love it!
  5. That's for sure. I don't want to spoil too much for those who have not read it, but there were times that I was like, "Omg, you've got to be kidding!" because the action was just in my face. The two major incedents of the story made me hope that the characters would eventually discover better lives for themselves. It's definitely a good story for those who like to see people learn good lessons for the life experiences. I think the story is a good point of reference for gay teens who struggle with their sexuality and reminds them that it could be worse. Then again, there might be a negative impact on those who want to come out to their parents. All I can say is that the ones in this story are worst-case scenarios. Most people do not have that negative of a reaction. And if they do, I don't think all will turn out quite like it did in the story. Anyway, I really need to go over to AD and read some more of Graeme's stories when i get a chance.
  6. Well, we do get around. We often need poeple to talk to, and we often need stories to talk about, which brings me to another point. I love your anthology story!
  7. Those are some good choices. I often prefer something a bit softer as I read though. Led Zeppelin "Stairway to Heaven"
  8. They have more experience with situations like that. Those who are new to the world of magic are more likely to have a reaction to stressful situations. I'm sure they're feeling stress and have developed their own coping mechanisms.
  9. I want to thank C James for the opportunity to review such a group of stories. In total, I reviewed 15. I intend to read the remaining 9 (1 is one that I wrote) over the next several weeks so that I can review them as well. CJ, you do such a marvelous job with all that you do. Thanks again for the opportunity to share my opinions. I want to thank all 15 of the authors as well. Reading is a source of inspiration for me.
  10. Writing the story for me was quite emotional as well. I was inspired by some documentaries. I thought to myself, "What was it like during those days?" Unfortunately, a history of depression makes me all to familiar with the feelings of hopelessness and anger with the world. The only times I was usually inspired to add portions to this story was during sad times. I hope this story serves as a reminder to everyone of the struggles we face as a community or the world for that matter. I can imagine there are many real-life stories such as this one. I wrote it for them.
  11. That's an awesome song, Kevvie. Speaking of awesome songs... Shania Twain and Brian White "From This Moment" <sigh> It's so purty.
  12. I'm still interested in knowing how their uncle is involved in what's going on. Another intesting thing about the chapter that struck me was how Worthington did something rather evil that made him literally sick. When I first started reading the series, I noticed how he really didn't have any principles at all. Now the Gray Path seems to be developing nicely. I think that's the best path anyway. I've never been into goody-goodies, nor do I like those who are completely. I favor the anti-hero.
  13. Steve, he really is a lurker a lot of the times. He's not always posted. In fact, he doesn't post quite as much as he used to, thought he has posted more today than usual. As for evil cliffhangers, you never know what he's going to do next.
  14. I must be managing mine better than either of you.
  15. Bi-mis= bimillenium= 2000 posts
  16. Hehe... now you suck up to the newest member of the Bi-mis.
  17. She will be a fine addition to PPC.
  18. 3 Doors Down "Away from the Sun" Aerosmith "Janie's Got a Gun"
  19. I'll be trying to finish Chapter 12 this weekend. For the last several weeks, I have been mostly reading. I have three stories that I am currently into right now, one of which I just got into, but I am going to have plenty of time to get back to writing now, especially since I have finished reviewing anthology stories. I also have a bit of editing to do. What can I say? I am involved in a lot of activities here. Oh, and before anyone starts barging at my door in search of an editor, I can only edit or beta read for a couple of people, and they know who they are. I don't really see that changing any time soon, if ever. Thanks everyone! It has definitely been a joy talking to all of you in the forums.
  20. That is most certainly true. Though they are more subtle, his cliffhangers always leave us wanting more. Anyway, I finally caught upon on the story, and I am definitely hooked! Oh I do want to learn what they found out from the soldier. I think this shadowy government group is going to be a serious threat. And I happen to agree that Uncle Sinclair is a part of it. The puzzle, however, is still quite fuzzy. All I can say is, "I want more!"
  21. Chopin "Raindrops Prelude"
  22. No, it's not just Steve's job. CJ is the quickest to point out when Shadowgod uses evil cliffhangers. He also grasps at straws to find evil cliffhangers in Second Chances, something I am NOT doing until Chapter 4. That's why I am quick to point out the fact that he uses them. And Mike, it's okay! I am an admitted postaholic. 2,000 in 6 months is some serious posting.
  23. He'll go on a killing spree. The Scar does not care at all about human life. I'm afraid he's going to hurt Eric.
  24. He'd probably just reach for a knife and kill that person. The Scar is one diabolical dude.
