I don't see JJ spending much time with the artist community unless they're rich artists. He's enjoying taking his place among the New York elite, and he's not about to sacrifice that to go hang out with Bohemians. He's too much of a snob for that. I think having Susannah around will just exacerbate that.

Give JJ some time. Either that, or he'll just move somewhere else. As for the limo deal, I suspect that JJ has the Maybach and a driver that works for him, but when others come into town, they hire a limo service for extra vehicles, and probably also hire additional drivers.

For those of you who have valiantly risen in defense of Alabama, I could throw out a litany of evidence to support the fact that state deserves considerable scorn (LBGT rights, racial inequality, etc.) but that's not what the reference was about. Will is a Californian, and he's never been to Alabama. In fact, I don't think he's even been to the deep south. For him, it's just a place where bad things happen to gay people like him, and a sort of symbol of the ignorance he's seeing in 2004 politics.

February 10, 2004 New York, NY Will I sat at the small high-topped table with Chris, scanning the club, checking out all the hot guys. The last club he’d taken us to had been pretty nice, while this one was a lot more divey. Instead of slick tile, glass, and stainless steel, there were worn wood floors, wooden chairs, and a mediocre sound system.
